Kohei san is really nice host. His place very tidy and clean, I have nice room with kosatsu table. He cooked very well. I enjoy dinner the most He even help me to transfer my luggage to next stop He did everything to make sure I m comfortable staying in his house I strongly recommend staying here Near there we have watarasen onsen and the hotel onsen very worth to visiting

Super nice and cozy accommodation in the most beautiful nature with a super lovely and helpful hosts! An inside onsen & outdoor onsen (for free) as well as a massage chair can be used in the accommodation, which is especially nice after a walk on the Kumanu Hongu trail. Amazing and super affordable breakfast and dinner in the accommodation, we recommend 100% and would like to come back. :)

Feel so warm staying in this minshuku with host’s hospitality. I enjoy the free flow of local sweet mandarin so much. For those coming for komano Kodo, the place is equipped with massage chair for full body massage - you will definitely love it when you need it. The outdoor hot spring (heard only in winter) is only few minutes away by foot and is a great experience! The duck hot pot is another highlight. Don’t miss it!

Located in a small town that’s centrally located for lots of great spots in Wakayama. Building is across the street from public onsen that is phenomenal. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Could not be happier with our experience!!

An amazing experience at Kawayu Onsen”
We stayed here for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the in house baths were very good, with the outdoor baths never more than a couple minutes walk away. The hosts were extremely considerate, and did their best to make us feel welcome. We chose to have breakfast and dinner provided, which was both generous and delicious. The dinner we had was probably the best meal I’ve had in Japan so far! Would not hesitate to come back

Recent owners that are VERY welcoming hosts. Enjoyed a long conversation about Japan current affairs and history. The meals were the best part! Enjoyed both Japanese dinner and Japanese breakfast. Simple comfortable room. Could hear the river running from the room. Bathroom has an onsen which is a great bonus. The guesthouse is in an old building. Stayed one night. Left feeling rested and happy

建物は昭和だけど、お掃除されていてシンプルで清潔。目の前の川と山を観ながらの朝食はとても気持ちいい。夜はお酒やタコスなども美味しくて癒される。かわいい犬が迎えてくれてそれがまた良い。また行こう♡

川湯中央の立地、リバービュー部屋がお勧め”
河原の露天風呂と仙人風呂の中央に位置しててどちらも行きやすいのと、リバービューの部屋は見晴らし最高です。駐車場も充分。民宿規模なのに家族風呂が２つもあって源泉掛け流し。今時はトイレ共同が気になりますが、客数多い訳ではないので、たいした問題にならず。それよりも、部屋で朝食コーヒー頂きながらの湯煙あがるリバービューが最高でした。 また川湯温泉に行った時は利用しそうです。気さくなオーナーは仙人風呂の管理人でした。

コロナで滞在客は私一人だけでしたが、サービスも良く、部屋も綺麗な川が見える部屋でした。風呂は温泉で少し硫黄の香りがする柔らかな泉質でとてもゆっくりできました。地元の方々とも仲良くできる機会があり、おすすめの「お滝さん」という秘境のような滝も見ることができました。また熊野詣での際は利用させていただきます。
