Wonderful place.”
I stayed here 1 night at the end of August, and wanted to stay longer, but it was full. so at the beginning of October, i came back for 4 more nights. it's in a quiet residential area, very peaceful, and only a 5 minute walk from a beautiful temple and a park on the lake. about 2 km. from the main station (which i tried to avoid, it's a crowded zoo). it's difficult to find, if you don't speak japanese (the owner lady does not speak any english), i suggest you write down the name in japanese so you can show it to people to help guide you there. my room looked right at mt. fuji. the town is very nice and relaxed. there is are free bicycles to use (no internet, but there's a 7-11 4 min. away, 1 free hour of wifi per day). i missed this place when i left, i hope to return to it someday. highly recommended.

Great ”
The owners are very nice and helpful! We stayed in japeneese style room - very nice and quite large, we got complimentary coffee, tea, kimono.
We had difficulties to find the hotel even using a GPS. No wifi. Quite remote location, but we were driving, so no issue.

Perfect Yamabiko! Cost saved. ”
Staff performance, Value for money, Location (compared to price)
Normally, the hotels around Kawaguchiko are very expensive, some of them also doesn't provide the views of Mt.Fuji but this Yamabiko (guest house) does! You paid less than $75 for a room with Japanese style and you can see the view of Mt.Fuji from your balcony (not from the room windows), still it is a great price for a great experience. The staff speaks very little English but still they are trying their best to help, you can bring your own foods and the owner will cooked it for you. I bought from meat from the supermarket nearby for my dinner, which saved me alot of money instead of going to restaurants. The hotel is around 2-3 kilometers from Kawaguchiko station, not so try to find and the town were so nice! you can walk and enjoy the views, it will take you no time to reach this hotel!

friendly minshuku”
A very quiet place to stay, with direct views of mt Fuji. Friendly owner, without a word of English.
A traditional Japanese experience, with tatami mats, sliding screens, and futons on the floor. Very quiet area, close to lake kawaguchiko. No meals provided, but a number of shops within 20 minutes walk. The owner is very friendly, but doesn't speak a word of English.
The view of mt Fuji from the window is brilliant!
Only downside was the smelly shared toilets.

Great bang for your buck!”
quiet location, wonderful breakfast, beautiful view of Mt Fuji
When we initially arrived, we thought it was quite out of the way from the bus station and major attractions but upon exploring a little more on foot, it was actually a 5 min walk to Lake Kawaguchiko and not much further to some of the attractions along the lake. The rooms are decent-sized, traditional Japanese rooms. Our 10 month old loves it as everything is his height! There is no air-conditioning so during the day it would get a little warm but there was a nice breeze at night with having windows all along 2 sides. We had an upper room so you have to walk up a long flight of stairs which was not fun with our larger suitcase so be warned. The bathrooms are shared and clean. For 700 yen you get a large, delicious, home-cooked traditional Japanese breakfast (let them know you want it the night before). You have to walk about 10 min to get out to a main road or near any eating establishments. There is a tiny little grocery and meat shop close by. It's very close to the lakeshore so you can walk to many attractions if you wish or catch one of the sigh-seeing buses. We chose to walk everywhere which is a little long and time-consuming but do-able.

Simple traditional inn”
Direct views of Fujisan. Simple, basic, clean.
approx 8 tatami room (i.e sleep on a mat on the floor), sliding paper blinds. clear view of mt. fuji. all very simple and traditional. it's close to the lake and nice nearby temple, but a taxi ride to the train station. the lady owner does not speak english but is very helpful if you can speak some basic japanese. our room was in a modern annex with shared bathroom, toilet etc. we enjoyed the stay as we wanted a non-western japanese inn experience.

Nice Staff
The lady who runs the hotel does not speak english but very friendly and as you arrive will immediately try to help you If you show your printed Agoda reservation you will have no problems. Rooms are Nice and clean. No AC but room manage to stay cool if you open the window. No beds you sleep on futons. Has TV with plenty of channels to keep you entertained at night and beautiful view of mount fuji. No restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel area. Its a 10 minute walk to nearest two restaurants and convenience stores down the main road toward the station. Bus stop not far from hotel. Also parking lot under hotel. Very japanese style hotel.
