Seemed more like a hostel”
I spent the night here because it is close to my work but we were in a converted steading with another 4 rooms in very close proximity and our bathroom was upstairs. It meant we could hear everyone coming in and out of the accommodation and moving around their room almost as if they were coming in to our room. The bathroom being upstairs meant you would bump in to other guests on the way to your shower which isn't what I expected from this hotel. The headboard fell off the bed half way through the night because the bed slid around on the laminate flooring any time you moved. The mattress was very thin so it wasn't a great nights sleep. The owner seemed friendly in the morning and I'm sure if you're in the main part of the guest house it would be more pleasant but based on where I was I wouldn't stay here again.

Nice location and comfortable room. The host is very nice and helpful. A little cold in the room but the duvet is warm.

Friendly, Convenient, and Homey”
We were fortunate enough to get one of the few parking spots at the back, and the rainy misty journey soon gave way to a friendly welcome from our landlady. Whilst we were perfectly positioned to eat our breakfast and then take the short walk into town, our dedicated lady of the house spends her day making sure the house is a home for all her guests. It makes such a difference having somewhere that feels like you are coming home at the end of a busy day at the zoo, and all the other places we spent our week. Would definitely stay there again!

No too impressed”
Stay was ok. Couldn't get WiFi in our room. I paid to have an ensuite which I got except it was down the corridor near other people's rooms. The house smelt of mold, the shower had mold, the bathroom had used toiletries and the staircase had stained carpet. I think if your going to advertise a place with an ensuite they should notify you if you have to walk out of your room to it. And if you say you have wifi, check to see if it works in everyroom. The WiFi didn't work in the top level, apparently others didn't have a problem but others wernt also at the front of the house. It would be nice if directions are given prior to your visit for parking as we drove around to try and find somewhere that looked like it could belong to Minto. I've stayed in places for a lot less that have been a lot nicer...
