Great hotel near it all with a great free breakfast”
A sort of oddity, a three-story boutique hotel. run by a woman who has a chain of Western Australia Swedish tea and bakery shops. Yes, there really is a Miss Maud. The rooms are great, although the fact that it is built using two older buildings means that short flights of stairs show up in the hallways. The breakfast buffet is the best I have ever seen—not to be missed. The hotel is just a block from the downtown pedestrian mall, near the harbor, and three blocks from the train station, where you can get your unlimited daily transit pass—bus and rail—to get you to Fremantle in 30 minutes. No pool, no parking—although there is a City of Perth parking structure across the street. Simply one of the best hotel finds ever. Stay there and have breakfast! A highlight of any Perth trip.
Quaint Homely Hotel in Perth”
Miss Maud Swedish Hotel is a homely hotel compared to almost all of the hotels in Perth CBD which are mainly business-like hotels. The lobby is small but nicely done. The elevator is an old 1950s which still has the double doors which has to be completely shut before it will move up and down. The corridors along the floors leading to the rooms are not on the same levels which gives a feeling that you are going up a spiral staircase. The food is served at the original Miss Maud restaurant adjoining the hotel. It is decorated Swedish-stype of course. The food is fantastic.Buffet breakfast is free of charge. There is buffet lunch and dinner with lots of food choices. Internet usage is also free of charge.
excellent hotel; great location”
I booked Miss Maud following reviews on Agoda site. This was an excellent choice. the staff were super friendly and accomodating. the room was comfortable even though not on the big side. everything was very clean including the bathroom and all ameinties were in very good condition. the night staff were very helpfull in providing me with power point adapter for my mobile phone charger. The included buffet breakfast was super; this was the cherry on top and I really enjoyed it ! the pastry shop next door also eblongs to Miss Maude. For business or leisure travellers this hotel is an excellent choice; I would definitely stay here again. Use the Perth Connect shuttle bus service from the airport to Miss Maude hotel. Book in advance to use them again back to the airport
Location, Service and the Breakfast”
I stayed at Miss Maud Swedish Hotel for 3 nights during my holiday in Perth and totally satisfied with the hotel. The hotel was only 4-5 min walk from the train station and there were lots of bus stations near hotel. Hotel staffs were very kind and helpful. The most thing I loved was the breakfast. They serve really nice breakfast every morning. All the foods taste great. I would definitely visit there again.
lovely stay @ Miss Maud Swedish Hotel”
perfect location, 1 block away from the city center shopping area, and a few blocks aways from the river. you can also walk 50M to take the free CAT buses to go to museums, etc. with the nice complimentary breakfast @ the Miss Maud Swedish restaurant, and the small but clean and comfortable guest room, definitely a value for money choice. Highly recommend. plus, I got the only room (or maybe 1 of the 2) with a small balcony on 2nd floor. though the view of parking building wasn't very attractive, it was nice to read the many tour brochures in the morning :)
Good location and good price”
if you book through Agoda, the room is already inclusive of breakfast. Among all hotels in Perth I can say that Miss Maud has the best breakfast spread. And now they have a lift! previously it was difficult to manage especially with big bags. Good thing they have the lift now. I will continue to make it my preferred hotel when in town.
Centrally located”
The hotel is centrally located, very close to shopping area. Perth train station is also within walking distance. The room is clean, but quite small and the window is also high & small, facing the wall of the next building. The buffet breakfast is delicious and free is the plus point. Overall I enjoy my stay in "Miss Maud Swedish Hotel".
comfortable rooms and in a great location”
we really looked forward to staying at miss maud hotel in perth as it was 18 years since my last visit and wondered if it was just as good this time .to our great delight the old lift is still operating and the hospitality and fantastic food are just the same as if time stood still
Location, Free Breakfast, Value for Money”
I spent 2 nights at Miss Maud Hotel. The location is in Perth CBD, shopping street is in walking distance. The best part is Breakfast which is far better than some 5 stars hotel. Value for Money, I definitely recommend to travelers.
Great breakfast in Swedish style”
We picked Miss Maud's from the favourable rating and comments on Tripdvisor.com which proved as usual to be true. Rooms was good and the hotel spotless for the price as Perth is an expensive city and the location was very central to connect to all the great sites that Perth/Fremantle has to offer via their "free buses" and a quick walk to the train station or to the Ferry with easy connections to Fremantle etc.
Love the Miss Maud food, Love the Miss Maud Hotel.”
We were there to celebrate our 5th Wedding anniversary, on valentines day!. We traveled 85klms after a long day of work to be at the hotel. We regularly eat food from Miss Mauds various suburban outlets,so it seemed a good idea to have a special night at the Hotel. We loved the design of the building/decor,even the lift! Having just spent 5 weeks in Europe recently it was a bit of Euro fun. Breakfast was great as we hoped, although I had my usual problem finding things in the servery area. I have poor vision, and despite the best logic applied to any eating area, some items usually elude me.Not the fault of the hotel. The Room was well arranged and I was very happy at the lighting, and general setting of the room. We slept well and appreciated the timing of checkout,as we could enjoy breakfast, then finish up in the room without too much hurry. The Receptionist was very helpful, and un flustered in the morning when lots of customers were needing her attention. She took time to resolve each issue, and was very professional. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay.
Perfect location with perfect B & B”
We were received by the star staff of the hotel, the gentleman was very nice and kind, he introduced to us all the info we need for our one day stay in Perth, including shopping, and sight seeing locations, and facilities we may use during our stay. The breakfast of the hotel is just amazing, fresh and delicious. the room is clean and tidy, the show is very nice. From the hotel, it's easily to walk down to the city center in 5 mins. The value for money is totally worth of it. I will definitely staying here if I go to Perth again.
very comfortable”
This was the first time at Miss Maud Swedish Hotel, we found it to be perfect for us in every way, the Breakfast and Smorgasbord was the best we had ever had. This hotel will be our first choice in future. thank you to Miss Maud for a very pleasant stay
Perth adventure”
For a business trip, the hotel had all my requirements. Even the 'fabulon' in the laundry. Miss mauds despite the Swedish tag has a distinct 'euro' feel, I even enjoyed walking the stairs. Quite a nostalgic experience, lots of European holiday memories as soon as you enter reception.
Great Hotel Situated Right in the Heart of Perth”
The hotel is a real gem situated right in the heart of Perth and located near major places of interest; travel to elsewhere is a cinch as Perth Station is just 5 minutes' walk away. The breakfast was fabulous. The variety of breakfast food items is very good indeed, and most importantly provided FREE with the stay! Try the Smorgasbord for dinner; you won't be disappointed. Finally the service staff were very friendly and helpful, and were able to fully cater to our needs. The WiFi was provided free and worked well although sometimes we experienced intermittent weak signal but it was all manageable. I would appreciate if slippers were included in the room though; else, everything was perfect.
sparkling hotel in great location”
I had a very comfortable stay at Miss Maud for a city break. The staff are helpful, and pleasant. The food is excellent, especially the smorgansboard. One downfall was the slow service at dinner for the a la carte menu. I dined in all 3 nights, eating a la carte on two when on both occasions I waited more than 1 hr for my food. This could certainly be improved upon. Otherwise waiting staff were very cheerful. The two head waiters were excellent and very proffessional and handled the delays by rewarding me with free wine!!
Clean & friendly ”
My first time time at with husband & baby. This is the best is located at Murray st & easy for us to walk to perth central station. The Malaysian food is just a few blocks n& shopping mall too.The hotel is so clean ,the Swedish design & we not sharing any bathroom.I would love to come again.
Fantastic Location”
Hotel is centrally located in the Perth Central Business District (CBD). It's walking distance from the train or bus terminals and also just a 5 to 10 minute walk to the shopping malls nearby. Hotel decor was great while maintaining the old facade. We stayed in a Standard Queen En-suite room which we found to be rather small, compared to the hotel rooms found in South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore & Indonesia. There's an outlet serving fantastic cakes and pastries - some of the best you'll find around Perth. The breakfast in this hotel is a must - awesome with wide varity of meats, breads, cereals, pastries, fruits and drinks. This hotel is highly recommended.
Huge breakfast selection.”
Miss Maud's is a quaint old hotel in a very good location in Perth. Close to the main shopping streets and restaurants. Railway station only 10 minute walk away for trips to the beach. Rooms are quite small but adequate. Rooms at the back are quiet away from the main street. Staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. Lift very old and noisy so again try and get a room away from the lift. Laundry room is a bonus for long term travellers. Overall a good place to stay.
average hotel but meet the basic needs of most travellers”
Perth is considered an expensive city for someone from malaysia so I was glad I stayed in this hotel which met all my basic needs even if it doesn;t have those frills which I don't need anyway. The good location meant that I could walk to many places of interest and the bus and train station and ferry terminal were also nearby to get to those places further away so I didn't need to use a taxi. The breakfast is considered good as many of the guests have stated; only thing is if you stay longer than 2 or 3 days, it will start to get very monotonous as the breakfast items though quite varied didn't changed at all throughout my 7 days stay. I wish the hotel could have changed the breakfast items maybe every couple of days since Perth is supposed to be a cosmopolitan city with so many cultures from all over the world.
