I love it!!!”
Perfect hideaway place to play golf and pool side vacation !!! All the stasffs was really kind and nice, breakfast was not special but doesn' t matter to have during stay, The restaurant Patio was great of taste and cost!! The room and pool was always clean, calm, cozy so enjoyable to swim from pool access room every day after playing golf. Free shuttle service to Patong and Phuket town was also useful to me, for night time. I will stay here soon and again for my golf tour.
5 stars service”
Location wasn't at all that great. Good if you were only thr for the golf. I was there for the spa and it didn't disappoint - they had a 1 for 1 and it was worth the $ spent. They offered free shuttle service once a day to the mall / beach.
Help - TLC needed”
The Mission Hills Golf Resort is an enormous complex and enormous investment and should be a real asset to Phuket. Sadly though, maintenance of the building fabric is obviously not a priority. Also staff attitude is very laissez-faire and seems to lack good management/leadership. The breakfast is a very poor affair, more Chinese orientated than western and of poor quality. Probably the place is just full of bus loads of noisy Chinese tourists. I would say that a 7.5 rating is being generous and if the building and staff attitudes were to reflect the Golf Course and Caddy attitude, the place would improve dramatically.
All OK at Mission Hills”
Everything at this hotel is good. My only gripe is that the Hotel itself does not have a restaurant or bar on site. All food and drink is taken at the Golf Clubhouse where at night the atmosphere is lacking. Also the evening food is the same menu as the clubhouse food. Apart from that small gripe the Hotel and Golf Course are excellent. The staff very attentive.
Nice place but need to be refreshed”
Was good. Very nice service, rooms and golf. Only minus would be that obviously the hotel is not that much of a financial success so unfortunately I would say the outside ( except the golf) needs to be repaired... To a 5 star standard hotel. Very close to the airport was a plus for us.
Luxurious, comfortable room”
We only stayed one night but could have stayed an entire week. The room was beautiful, the grounds were beautiful, and the price was totally reasonable (although we may have gotten a deal through Agoda). Regardless, the staff was super helpful and the service was exquisite. It was definitely the change we needed after our budget stay in Singapore
Great destination for a short golfing stay”
This hotel does not quite deserve the negative comments that can be found on the internet. Granted, it is not a 5-star resort like the amazing and nearby Laguna Phuket and JW Marriott resorts, but it is much more affordable and value for money. People who criticize Mission Hills do not understand what the harsh tropical climate can do to the looks of a shoreside property. Roofs and walls get faded very quickly, without actually being dirty. Mission Hills gets maintained all the time (I saw staff giving walls some fresh coat of painting), everything is in full working order (lights, aircon, shower, etc.). As to the golf course, it is well maintained and the bunkers are raked by the ever diligent caddies. Throughout the resort, staff is very friendly and efficient. We travel with our 6-month old son, who was very happy to be handled by helpful staff. We even booked an extra caddie for him so that he could accompany us during our rounds at the golf. The course itself is not a huge challenge, especially for a Jack Niclaus design, but it is enjoyable and scenic, with several holes starting or terminating on the very shore of the Andaman sea, offering amazing views of a natural setting of far-away islands similar to the nearby James Bond Island near Krabi. The area is particularly quiet and underdeveloped, which means total quietness, only disturbed by the air traffic landing and taking off from the nearby Phuket International Airport. Price-wise, Mission Hills is a very good deal, as they offer a 40% discount on the green fee for residents, and an extra promotion for Thai nationals (that my wife could take advantage of) so that in the end, having played two rounds of golf there, the accommodation for our 3 nights was basically for free. We had a nice room on the ground floor, overlooking the golf course. Naturally, you do not have to play that course, and the beautiful Blue Canyon course is close by, and there are 4 other courses on Phuket Island.
A great venue if you are a golfer”
we enjoyed our stay at the mission hills phuket gollf resort & spa very much and have no complaints regarding the venue. perhaps it is a bit isolated however they offer a free shuttle service during the day to puchket. first class golf course good food and all the amenities a golfer requires for a sporting and relaxing holiday. i recomend it.
Great hotel, great staff, great golf”
I've stayed at Mission Hills several times now, and I'll keep coming back. It’s a very relaxing environment, quiet, peaceful, just an all around nice place to stay. And I’m a golf nut so the course on site is the topper for me. The hotel location is off the beaten path but they do provide a daily shuttle service to a few locations such as the Central Mall and Patong; however, the shuttle departs at predetermined times, so if you want flexibility then I suggest renting a car. Remember, this place is off the beaten path, no stores are around, so if you want snacks, etc then I recommend you purchase them on your way to the hotel or while you’re out and about.
great value for money ”
great staff and hotel, would love to go here for a couple of days and play golf. View was awesome from the restraunt looking at the 18th. ge did we panic with flights to catch, we went to the pro shop after we checked out and the girls made a few calls and had someone was there in 5 minutes. Excellent stay alround except for the heart stopper!
Magnificent Mission Hills Golf Resort, Phuket”
Little prepared us for the breath-taking initial experience, when first arriving at this unbelievable resort ! The architecture "breaths" history; what with its Very beautiful high Thai-style roofs, sweeping interior spaces, numerous antique elements - in fact, this is very hard to put into words. One gets he feeling that this was not created for commercial exploitation, but rather by someone who invested his heart into this place. The moment you step into the monumental, yet cozy Entrance Hall (there's no other word for it), you are convinced to being in a "different world".A peaceful and stylish world, where class governs and style is at the top of the charts ! This is not a "stay-at-a-hotel", but rather "an experience-of-a-lifetime" ! Te amenities are also very good, with a great pool-area, surrounded by waving palms; the fabulous and tranquil Spa & Massage place (Gaya),the Patio restaurant and the cozy, yet stylish Nibbler's Bar Then there's the (J. Niklaus designed) Golf-course: 18 holes of sheer quiet delight, with views over the Ocean and Islands off in the distance. Mission Hills; I'd love to back there, again soon !
LUXURY HOTEL AMAZING!!!!”
Overall if you came to this hotel to relax and escape society for a little this is the place to do it. The food, service, rooms, pool, golf course, gym, spa was all amazing. The internet was free and the gym was well equipped. The prices of the food and services was expensive. It is close to the airport so was not a hassle for us in that sense.
Friendly staff and good facilities”
All is good.
All is good”
It's a (was) lovely hotel and golf resort. The only problem is that it has not been kept up too well. Many weeds everywhere. The spa has gone and many areas need new paint and some TLC. Golf course though in good condition. Would only go back if i was playing golf.
Great staff but old hotel with poor facilities.”
The hotel needs to be renovated. The rooms are very basic and quite dirty. The food was okay compared to other Thai restaurants. The staff were exceptional but they consierge/driver spoke no English and took us to the wrong destination. I wouldn't stay there again; we only went as we had an early flight and couldn't get a transfer from Koh Yao Yai in time.
A curate's egg - very mixed pciture ”
Overall our stay was fine ... but not the 'stellar' we were after. The golf course is good; but the compulsory extras (cart, caddies, tips) make it expensive despite green fee reductions. There is also a slightly 'money grubbing' attitude at play in the hotel - for example when we asked if my wife could join me as a spectator on the golf course we were told it'd cost us BDT 1,200 (about £25). Our room was not available on arrival - this has been sorted (thanks Agoda) but it is obviously not good to arrive after a long day travelling to hear the news that your room is not available (and be offered a less good room or a different hotel and have toi make a fuss to be properly compensated). Finally, the food is not of a quality commensurate with the standard of the hotel. Given its releative isolation I think they really need to improve the quality of the food - the burger I tried to eat on the night we arrived was the worst I can recall ever eating.
It was relaxing. We enjoyed the spa services.”
It was a good stay but the hotel could use a bit more upkeep. There was some mold in our bathroom and the shower would not fully cut off so water dripped continuously. Other than that, the room had a small patio and was comfortable. They also easily arranged airport transfer for us.
We booked into the hotel for a golf holiday and found the course to be very challenging. We found the pro shop staff to be very friendly and professional. The caddies were very knowledgeable and courteous. We were met by the club pro and he was very helpful in setting up our game.
lovely hotel - good spaciou rooms”
Apart from golf and a very nice spa there is little else to do and what was extremely frustrating was that nobody could speak English - or if so very little - Hardly nobody there so the restaurant very uninviting also there was no collection and pick up service from the airport this was an additional Baht 500 - but there was a free ride in the afternoon to main phuket town and Ni Yang beach and the airport was not far from the beach.
