Peaceful, loving atmosphere thanks to Leo&family”
Our stay here was the best we experienced in Sri Lanka. I simply cannot thank everyone who made our stay so memorable! Leo and his family are incredibly welcoming - they go above and beyond to make sure that you are as comfortable as you can be. From ensuring that your open wood fire is burning to planning and organising a driver for you and making you tea with homemade biscuits when you return, they really care for you and make you feel as if you are in a home away from home. Each meal is homecooked and prepared for you! On one of the nights, Leo's wife made us a spectacular feast of honest, home cooked Sri Lankan food and I can honestly say it was the best meal we had eaten in our entire time in Sri Lanka. I travelled with my father and brother (14) and with no recommendations of where to stay, I really am glad we picked this place. Each of us would happily return to Misty Mountain Villas. I really felt like part of the family in this warm and welcoming atmosphere - each of the rooms are decorated with things picked up from Leo's travels around the world. I did not feel more relaxed during my trip than I did here in Nuwara Eliya. I feel as if I cannot do this place enough justice! So again, thank you very much Leo and we hope to see you again soon!

Great Place to Spend Vacation...”
One of the best hotels we stayed in Nuwara Eliya. This is a small hotel located in quite high up. It is very peaceful, serene and calm place you can find in NE. The owner Suminda is a very courteous gentleman and the other two guys are very helpful and friendly. Also the room service is very good. We get the breakfast and dinner from there and those are very delicious, home cooked and very fresh. Even the evening tea is very delicious. Our room is quite good with the standards and the only issue we have is there is no cupboards to put our belongings. We sort out that problem with some chairs. We can get a great views from in side the room and that view is stunning in the mornings. Bathroom is very clean and the water pressure is very good, but if you need hot water you should wait for few minutes (3-5). The hotel management is very honest with that thing and you can find many notifications about the hot water issue inside the hotel and even in the rooms. The only minus point is the location of the hotel. It is located almost 2km far from the Nuwara Eliya city centre and if you don't have your private vehicle you should have to pay Rs. 200 - Rs. 400 for taxies to going up and down to the city. The taxi fares may be vary. But if you have your own vehicle that problem is solved. There are enough space for parking. Overall it is a great place to stay for a vacation and you can feel very homely and cared for.

Really enjoyed our stay at Misty Mountain Villas. Although hard for the taxi to drive up to, the location is amazing - looking out on Nuwara Eliya from the top of a hill. The staff were very friendly and helped us with all our requests. We also easily booked our day trip through the Villas. Great bathroom although bath did take a while to fill up. The curry we had was one of the best during our whole Sri Lanka stay. Would recommend it to others.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. It is probably the highest villa in Nuwara Eliya so going there was a tad difficult. But that apart, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Reeyal and Prabha and their cute kids are truly warm and helpful. Prabha is a really good cook. The day we reached there, it was past lunchtime and we were starving. Prabha whipped up some really tasty food in no time. The view from our room was fantastic and the room itself was so cozy! We would love to go back there very soon!

The manager took well care of us during our stay,whatever we requested he managed to provide us without any delays.after a day of driving towards hill country this place is a haven in the clouds. the road a bit too narrow to this hotel but the place pays off all those. the guesthouse manager is a really nice guy,gave us a welcome tea as soon as we checked in,which was heavenly.the meals are really scrumptious.Plus the fireplace is really handy during the night,staying around the fireplace and sharing stories is the pinnacle of staying at this hotel. Probably the best get-away hotel around Nuwara-eliya!

Fantastic- Leo and his family run an amazing hotel- I would highly recommend to anyone heading to Nuwara Eliya! The staff speak english, the owner is fluent in Dutch, he runs tours which look amazing (we didn't have time unfortunately), the food is great and the bathroom is amazing! ! The beds are comfortable, there are fires to keep you warm and the view in the morning as the mist rolls through is phenomenal! ! It's a must stay! Just beware of the driveway at the end- call ahead and someone will meet you to help bring your bags up- vans will not make it up the hill Also no driver accom Totally worth it though!

It's not easy to arrive this Villa. But you'll feel it deserve when you see the sunset in the small villa with fireplace. We order a rich dinner, the staff help us rise the fireplace. At dusk, rich food, charming sunset, warm fireplace and family together, I think nothing can be more happiness in my life. Though the location make us give up the Nuwara Eliya town sightseeing, I still consider it's one of the the best moments in my trip in Sri-Lanka. Besides, the hotel owner is a cool guy with cowboy look!

Owner and the staff was very friendly and provide the transportation as we expected. They arranged the transportation from the Nanu Oya staion to Hotel and wise versa. The room we booked from Agoda was not available but they arranged a another room for the same fee. Better to call and confirm before you visit there. They have the facilities for BBQ. Had hot water as we requested. WiFi was there. but the signal strength was not satisfied for the rooms. WiFi was good at the common areas. Best for the group travellers. As a summary it was a happy staying at Misty Mountain Villas. Hope to visit again.

Misty Mountain Villas doesn't leave anything to the imagination in its name..It is literally located at the very top of a very steep (and scary) road and over looks the entire valley. The views are breathtaking and well worth the ride up! Despite the climb the area below the mountain is very safe and has easy access to restaurants and shopping. The the villas are extremely cosy and accommodate very well for the coolest climate in Sri Lanka. Bathrooms are clean and well equipped. Each villa sports an amazing view of the tea plantations below and is a delight to behold in the morning. Be careful with the fireplaces though extra fire wood will set you back around 800rs on top of the 1000rs it will cost for a fire in the first place, so rug up! If you are coming with a driver plan ahead because there is no driver accommodation as there is with most hotels. So the driver either sleeps in a separate motel which you will have to pay for, their vehicle or even your room! There is no dining table yet but the manager (an Aussie!) showed us the new restaurant and games room that should be finished in a few months time (which is set to allow even more spectacular views). In the meantime all food is brought via room service. The menu was extensive but is a little over priced. However given the trouble you will have to go through to get to the bottom of the mountain it is not a bad option at all. The staff are very friendly and have excellent customer service. I was very impressed by the level of service, the management know how to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A must stay!

Had a great 3 night stay at misty mountain villas we were in the bungalow which was great at 4.30 pm down comes the mist its amazing to watch, the boss is very helpful they have there own tut tut to take you in to town or on a trip, at night the boss lights a big fire in the main dining room sends out tut tut man to pick up beers & wine then you all have dinner together we had some great nights tea plantation & lakes are good trips, tut tut guy will take you to station to move on , we came by bus from Kandy nearly had heart attack driver overtaking on wrong side off road with a 100 foot drop take the train its safer

Misty Mountain Villas has a great location with a magnificent view of the town below. The weather at this time of year is cool to cold, so have a jacket. The rooms as terrific, from the smaller standard rooms to the deluxe room with jacuzzi. Food and service is excellent, and the owners are friendly and helpful. Construction is on-going on a new dining area and additional rooms, hopefully they will be available within the next few months. Definitely a place to come back to time and again.

We stayed at the Misty Mountain for one night between 8-9th April 2015. The hotel is a little out of the beaten track but totally worth it given the views and the calm surroundings. It truly gives you a real breath of fresh air. The rooms are well equipped with warm duvets, hot water, tv and wifi in the rooms which allows you to stay entertained in case the beautiful views are not enough for you. It does get cold at night which is why we didn't feel like venturing to town at night so we opted to have dinner at the restaurant, which is kept warm with an open-log fire.The food is home-made and we give a special mention to the yummy soups, which were exactly what we needed on a cold night in the mountains. Before going to bed, we also requested for a log-fire in our own bedrooms and it kept us warm all night. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would truly recommend this place which is very decent value for money, with a lovely caring staff, pretty views and a nice break from the city life! You won't regret it!

Misty Mountain Villas is in a superb location with wonderful views, but at the end of a twisting, steep road which can present difficulty for taxis trying to find it. The staff are alll very friendly and helpful and will arrange taxis/cars for short or day long journeys. They are in the middle of building some more rooms and a restaurant with panoramic views. This did not cause us any problems and when they finish in a month or so, the restaurant will be a great place to dine. We had half board and the food was tasty and good. The rooms were roomy, pleasant and comfortable with hot and cold water in plentiful supply.

What a memorable stay! A gem!”
Misty Mountain is so quaint, pretty and well-maintained! The view is superb. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The fireplace was a bonus as it was freezing at night during our stay. Another plus is that their water heater is working well. It would be unimaginable to not have hot water in that temperature. Service was impeccable. Leo,the owner, and his wife were very attentive, helpful and super friendly. Their kids are adorable too. Breakfast was prepared by the owner's wife and it was simple but good. I would definitely return!

A very good experience staying at misty! The hotel owner can cook very nice Chinese food and we all very enjoy the peaceful hours drinking ceylon tea and chatting with the guests also live in misty. Outside the door, a group of travelers were enjoying BBQ. Will still choose stay in misty next in Sri Lanka!
