Staying for almost 9 days now. Literally in the center of the thamel amd everything you can ask for. And for that i am even staying untill 14th November though i would have checked out long ago. Definitely recommended if you are solo

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mitra Garden Inn for 5 nights on the tail end of our Nepal trip. We were looking for a place to unwind after our trekking. Initially, we tried two different rooms that weren't great. Finally, we moved into a room on the second floor with a lot of natural light and good airflow, and we really enjoyed it. The wifi is generally good, the shower is hot, and the location is great - right in the middle of where you want to be in Thamel. It is on a road where vehicles aren't allowed, so it can be somewhat difficult to get to initially, but plug it into Google Maps and you should be able to find it. The owner is a really helpful guy as well.

Located in the heart of Thamel close to all tourist services. Great value for budget minded travelers. Down a little back street away from the main streets and all the noise of the busy streets. You will still hear roosters , dogs and Nepalies going about their day and the din of the city with generally quiet nights. Everywhere in Thamel is rocking Friday and Saturday nights! The staff is great , speaks fairly good English, helpful and accommodating. The place is clean , well kept and has a great rooftop sitting area in the sister Hotel , Zen Buddha Hotel. We stayed here when we first got to Kathmandu and have just rebooked in after our return from trekking.A little hard to find down a small side street , look for the Zen Buddha sign.

Awesome Place to Stay and Enjoy ”
One of the best places i have stayed so far with great hospitality by the owner (Durba) and the staff. Free tea/coffee all the time with in-house restaurant and beautiful hangout place with garden. Also located at right in the heart of thamel. Mr.Durba was very friendly and helped me to arrange sightseeing and hiking trips around Nepal. He and his staff is always there to help with everything. Thank you Durba for making me feel at home. See you soon :)

We like it very much! ”
We first booked for two nights but then we stayed longer. It's a very nice guesthouse worth clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, a hot shower (!) and a very good and stable Wifi signal. The rooftop terrace is good for an overview or chilling around. And espacially: The staff is incredible nice and very helpful! They will store our luggage while we are on the trek. Also you can order food all day in a nice little area outside. We are happy to stay here again after our trek!

Staff was great and attentive. Only a couple rooms have hot water and when it’s cold outside that can be an issue. Nice breakfast. Location is a bit tricky to find, but after you have it down it’s easy and very central to Thamel.

Awful. No screens on the windows and no fans in the room (even though the description on here clearly says a fan is included). Wouldnt be so bad except the area was full of mosquitoes, so we woke up covered in bites after the first night. Our room also only had 1 pillowcase and no towels. We inquired at the front desk, and even though there were 3 people sitting there, we barely got one to look up from his cellphone. He said there were no clean towels at the moment but he'd send some up later, and said he'd check with the manager about the fan. Made 2 more trips to the front desk and never got any of these 3 items resolved. Bathroom was one of the worst smelling I've dealt with in 9 months of travelling southeast Asia, we had to cover all the drains with wet TP to stop our room from filling with sewer gas. Killed 2 giant cockroaches the first night, luckily didn't see any others but that might have coincided with our covering the bathroom drains. Neighborhood is good if you want to be offered hash 10 times on your walk home and like being kept up by drunks outside until 4am
