Pleasant stay, nice staff, good location.”
We had a pleasant stay in Carlton Mitre Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The beautiful gardens of Hampton Court Palace are just across the road. The staff were very nice and I want to give special thanks to the lady who was at the reception when we arrived. She was most kind to resolve the problem we first had with the room and thanks to her our stay was enjoyable.

nice old hotel ”
I had a good stay at the Mitre and the room was large. On arrival, it was obvious the hotel is very old and has lots of character, although in my room i was concerned the windows don't seal properly and let in noise, not too much that i couldn't sleep though. The breakfast was very good, the pastries in particular. One thing to note was that the car park is extremely small and cars have to park in two rows, meaning you have to leave your car keys at the front desk if you don't want to be disturbed. However, my car was damaged during the night at this hotel although I have no idea how.

Luxurious & relaxing.”
A very relaxed 4th stay in a surprisingly quiet hotel given the prak holiday period. Our exclusive room was large, well stocked & sumptuous. The staff were very friendly & couldn't do enough for us. We didn't use the breakfast facilities and only had dinner once, but the food was good. My only criticism is that the steaks seemed over priced especially as they don't come with potatoes, although we didn't try them.

Friendly staff, great location”
We booked this hotel for when we were going to the Hampton Court Flower Show. The location was perfect - just opposite the main gates. The hotel had lots of character, but still had all the facilities you would expect from a modern hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay, and would happily stay there again if visiting the area.

Really helpful staff....”
Quaint, slightly old fashioned; the rooms are warm, the water is hot, the beds are large and comfortable and a full english (for a couple of quid extra) what more do you want for the price. The hotel arranged all our transport in advance; got us into our rooms early and we felt well looked after.

Good location, but old and musty hotel.”
I stayed at The Mitre because I attended a friend's wedding at Hampton Court. Excellent location, but the hotel is old and smells musty. My bathroom was full of mosquitoes when I arrived- so much so that I couldn't use it to shower. In need of renovation, but acceptable as a three star property. Prices should reflect this.

Superb Hotel”
Visited this hotel for an overnight stay with husband and daughter. We arrived early and they were very accommodating by allowing us to check in early. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were large and clean (the bed was huge). Car parked safely outside. Will definitely be coming back again, the settings around it is lovely.

Very good”
The best thing about this hotel is its location hands down! Room was spacious and clean, however creaky doors, no air con (but fan provided) and bathroom could do with updating (but they state they are in the process of updating this and for an old building like this we would expect it). Breakfast room could do with a clean and would probably benefit from some background gentle music to break up the awkward silence that was there. Staff polite and friendly. Other than that if you are going to Hampton Court the location is perfect! Wouldn't hesitate rebook again.

Nice hotel”
Hotel was very comfortable and staff are friendly. Breakfast was lovely with beautiful views. The only downside is, it states parking but there is about 10 spaces for this hotel which is not ideal as alternative parking is not great

Beautiful building and perfect location for Hampton Court Palace. ”
Great ambience within the hotel due to pleasant nature of all the staff. Fantastic views & hotel steeped in history. Perfect location to the Palace. Room was lovely & clean. My only comment would be that the restaurant windows would benefit from a good spring clean over. Thank you for a great stay

Great stay”
The staff are wonderful. In fact I would go as far as to say that I have not stayed in a hotel before where the staff have got it so right. Helpful, courteous, respectful and interested but not intrusive. Tiny little point, my boiled eggs at breakfast were inedible as I could poor the contents out of the shell like water and my sisters poached egg tasted strongly of vinegar. However this did not spoil the pleasure of staying at the hotel.

First class hotel”
The hotel is gorgeous with a lot of original features still in place. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Very professional indeed. Knowledgeable about the area.

Great traditional hotel in excellent location”
The hotel is directly opposite Hampton Court Palace, and sits right on the banks of the Thames. Staff were really helpful, resolving a couple of minor issues we had quickly and politely. Breakfast was tasty, and in a gorgeous setting overlooking the river and Hampton Court Bridge. A nice hotel in a convenient location

Location, location, location. ”
The location is fabulous. Bar has outside terrace right on river - perfect for a Summer’s evening. Not recommended for families with young children; there’s minimal barrier between terrace and water. Staff overall were brilliant - particularly in the bar/breakfast area. Buffet breakfast fab. And will cook to order. Small niggle-room key keep deactivating. Hotel isn’t suitable for disabled guests. There are stairs everywhere and no lifts. I asked for “a ground floor room unless there is a lift” for my elderly parents due to their limited mobility. They were given a ground floor room but there was no mention, when booking that in order to access the dining room they’d need to negotiate a steep flight of stairs. There are also steps leading up to the hotel. One staff member advised me they had a lift in the kitchen. When I asked if we could use it the response was “No, it’s for food”. I envisaged shoving my mum in the dumb waiter. Hampton Court & Turks river cruises are opposite.

Lovely Hotel, great location”
very welcoming staff and a beautiful room, exceptionally clean. the shower was a brilliant power shower, large tv and a stocked free mini bar with soft drinks and crisps. the bedding was exceptionally comfortable and the thick black out curtains ensured i wasnt awoken early the bar is beautifully situated by the waters edge and was reasonably priced. the food in the restaurant is ok, but there was limited choice for vegetarians.

An antique hotel.”
It is an 300 years old hotel. So don't expect too much. But the room is fine. It is just opposite to Hampton Palace. 5 minutes may walk to Hampton Court terminal.
