Short break on Miyajima
Could not praise the hotel and staff more. A shuttle bus arrived at the ferry even though we had not booked one, although they probablly meet every ferry this was an unexoected pleasure. Staff were pleasant and courteous, even giving suggestions where to eat after 5pm as most places are closed, the room was cleann and well equiped and I particularly liked the Japanese bathroom - very relaxing. Miyajima itslef is a magical place.

5 minute walk from pier
free shuttle bus from pier, driver was friendly and happily agreed to take our bags while we chose to walk to the hotel from the pier. the room was old and is due for renovations, found a few stray hairs on the blankets and room not as clean as expected. we utilised the public bath downstairs which was lovely and clean, yukatas and slippers provided in the room for your use. front desk staff have limited english.

not cheap but one of the most affordable on the island
The hotel itself was great, nothing to complain about really. Nice big room, good mattress, clean and beautiful decoration. They even were so nice to give us a lift to the ferry. Not cheap comparing to the average hotel prices in Hiroshima, but one of the best options on the island. Too early check out and a little walk uphill from the ferry, like 10 min or less.

Great Experience
Location food amenities
We really enjoyed our stay, staff were wonderful, don't miss breakfast! Wish we had dinner here as breakfast was amazing! Rooms were comfortable, japanese style with plenty of room. You can use a private onsen for free if you don't want to brave it with the locals, just make sure to book a time. In a quiet location but not far from anything on the island. Great shuttle bus to pick you up /take you backfrom the ferry,. Not much open on the island of a night so food is limited , would definatley book dinner at hotel if breakfast was anything to go by it would be delicious! It is a true ryokan, it is a wonderful experience would go back and stay again. Thankyou to all at miyajima hotel Makoto for a very enjoyable stay

No view at all! Plastic sheeting on all windows
the staff was nice (especially the driver), the food was fine, and we only stayed one night
Very disappointing. I made reservations at the Miyajima Hotel Makoto for a very special occasion. The hotel was very shabby, and they are currently undergoing extensive renovations. ALL of the windows are covered with plastic sheeting, occluding the view and making the rooms stuffy and very unpleasant. We only learned that the windows were covered after we were shown to our room. The hotel should not be open during such extensive renovations. It was an embarrassment to the beautiful island of Miyajima.

Basic room at expensive price
Clean, pleasant staff
Renovations so all windows were covered up. Constantly playing annoying music in hallways. Tired hotel with expensive price for very basic room.

High ground, spacious and spa
It is pleasant, quiet and comfortable experience, except the hotel is undergoing renovation, the window view is not available. Would imagine the view to be splendid since the hotel is built on high ground
