Great location!”
Hotel Miyako is just outside Kyoto train station & it's very convenient to shops, bus & train systems. We travelled on JR pass from Namba, Osaka after 10am (after morning peak) and arrive at Kyoto within 60 mins. Hotel check in is after 2pm so we drop our luggage and visited Fushimi-Inari and Arashiyma (Monkey park and bamboo forest). Both Fushimi Inari and Saga-Arashiyama stations are on JR line so it quite handy. Umbrella is provided for hotel patron if you ask. The second day we use the JR line to get to Nara & in the evening we drop by to visit Kyoto Skywalk. It's also very convenient to get to Osaka, Hiroshima and Miyajima from here. Price wise it's a lot cheaper compare to Tokyo or downtown Kyoto. Furthermore the room size is much bigger compare Osaka & Tokyo. The hotel room is sound proof and you don't get to hear your neighbour! Staff is very helpful and it's highly recommended for JR pass holder!
Excellent location and value for money!”
The hotel is right across the Kyoto Station after you exit the Shinkansen gates so you will never get lost especially if it is your first time in Kyoto. Eating places abound the area -- from the vast choices inside the Kyoto Station to the big Aeon Mall that is practically attached to New Miyako Hotel to the rear right side of the hotel. And if these facilities should be closed after 10pm or 11pm -- there is always the 7-11 and Lawson that are open 24x7 right across the hotel on the station side. You will never be late in any of your appointments as the trains, subway, buses are right across the street -- you will have more time to relax and rest instead of walking long distances to reach transport take-offs.
perfectly located at Kyoto station”
We only booked for one night to see the top 5 attractions of Kyoto. New miyako was superbly located, just in front of the massive train station and bus transits which can lead u to ALL major attractions in Kyoto. You can take the bus 100 and get a day pass for ride all u can, you can see major temples such as Silver pavilion and a nearby one with a UNESCO heritage badge. Also can get dropped off nearby Gion town with possible Geisha sightings. I was able to go Fushima inari shrine, Gion and a main temple in half a day. Second half day was able to see silver and gold pavilion, also arashiyama. Meaning location excellent. Food not a problem with restaurants in hotel and nearby groceries and huge food court in train station. We got higher end rooms than standard ones which had a nice dark vibe in the corridors. A nice four star feel. Rooms a bit larger for Japanese standard that is also why i got it. 2 single beds (a bit hard but also a Japanese norm) and a sitting area with a table. Cable tv no English channel. I will probably stay here again if I visit Kyoto again due to proximity of hotel to Train station.
We made a right choice to stay at New Miyako Hotel”
New Miyako Hotel, Kyoto, was very conveniently located near the Kyoto Station. It was very easy for me and my friends to travel from Kansai airport to the hotel by the limousine bus. On arrival at the bus terminal, we collected our suitcases and wheeled them easily to the hotel (no need to go up and down any elevators or escalators). The visits to tourist sites were also easily accomplished as the hotel was just a stone throw away from the Kyoto Station. We are very grateful to the helful info staff of the hotel for advising us on how to take the subways and trains from the Kyoto station. Maps provided were useful too. Many thanks to the helpful front desk staff, especially the info personnel. Ladies who love shopping and eating will like to stay at this hotel. There are malls around the hotel, and many departmental stalls in the Kyoto station as well as eateries within walking distance from the hotel. 👍👍👍
Our home in Japan !”
This was our 5th stay in New Miyako Hotel (in periode of 5 years) we like the location very much. Just across the street of Kyoto Central Station. Rooms are spacious en well equipped. Next door is a shoppingmall (Aeon) with Foodcourt, All local public transport on your doorstep: busses and metro for local sightseeing, Shinkansen for further outbound connections. Direct train (Haruka) to Kansai Intl. Airport. Nice staff, good cleaning and Bagage services (prior to incheck at 15:00 or after checking out). The new Miyako hotel is our home away from home.
Great location, very nice hotel”
Shin Miyako Hotel is located to the south of Kyoto station perhaps less popular than the north side of the station, but no less inconvenient. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and had a terrific view Kyoto JR station. You can see all the shinkansen speeding through the station, but not hear them overtly. There's an Aeon Mall next to the hotel so if you wanted something more suburban it's a good place to go. Toji temple isn't far away either. A good place to drop your luggage and go exploring Kyoto.
Very good accessiblity , great ambience and friendly staffs ! ”
Each time I have to accompany a friend or family visiting Japan to Kyoto , Miyako Hotel is always my choice . My sister and nephew visiting from Toronto were happy staying at Miyako Hotel . The cleanliness , effeciency and friendliness of the staffs is very commendable . Really appreciate moving us to a bigger room with 3 beds on our 2nd night . Thank you for the great accommodation my guests always experience at Miyako Hotel .
Fantastic hotel near Kyoto station”
We spent three fantastic nights at the Miyako Hotel. The room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The location is unbeatable!! 8 minutes walk to Kyoto station, around 30 minutes nice walk to Gion district. AEON mall is next door and eating outlets can easily be found at the mall as well as at the station. We rented bicycles from KCTP located nearby and enjoyed every single day of our stay in Kyoto. We could easily park our bicycles at the hotel’s parking lot. Will certainly stay again at this hotel.
Comfortable room and good location”
New Miyako Hotel in close to Kintesu training station, also not far from JR station. So it is easy to access to Kyoto sightseeing places. The hotel room is very comfortable, just that a bit small compare to what you pay, anyway, this is Japan standard. Close to hotel, there are many Japanese restaurants and shopping centers, so it is very convinience for those who stay in this hotel.
Comfort and great convenience ”
It’s our first time to Kyoto and we made the right choice by staying at Miyako. It’s right across Kyoto Station and convenient access to shopping and a variety of food options. There is a 7-11 right across the road and Aeon Mall on the right of the hotel. As for the rooms, we booked their family room which has 3 super single beds. Sufficient for our family with 3 young kids. Their toilet is sparkling clean, the house keeping ladies are very polite and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Small hotel room at great location”
Me and my wife stayed in New Miyako Hotel Kyoto as it was right in front of the shopping mall and train station. It was very convenient and easy to go sighseeing Kyoto area. The hotel staff were helpful and spoke good English. Our room was small and the bed was hard. I had difficulty to sleep the first night as I was not used to the hard bed. Otherwise the hotel was perfect in terms of location. AEON mall is just next door and we had a great time shopping. We did explore the underground shopping malls and the experience was new. We noticed everywhere was clean in Japan even the public toilets. We visited the Niishiki Market and Gion area. We had a great time at Niishiki Market. There were a lot of things to see. We were however a bit disappointed with Gion area as we didn't see any geisha. The next day we went to Nara Park, visited the temples and lakes. Nara Park was a beautiful area with many deers wondering around. The deers were quite tame and we took a lot of pictures of the animal. Overall the hotel is a great place to stay as it is near to shopping areas and train station.
everything was worth the price. it was right outside the sinkansen station. central location,.”
what was good was the maxized use of space. its meant for travellers on the go. bathroom was great, amenities eco friendly. choices for cleaning is a model all hotels in the world should aspire for. cleanliness is tops as the japanese require. buffet was great. its my first time to have 3 different restaurants as choices for breakfast. seating was well organized. The check out was 12 noon in the room folder but the check in staff said it was at 11 am. Wish it was 12 noon, to enable tourists to be able to go aroumd some more after breakfast and have time to return to check out. Other than that it was well-recommended. I would certainly return to New Miyako when I go back to Kyoto. Even when it was close to the train station it was quiet enough to have a good rest.
Great hotel right next to Kyoto station”
I only stayed at the New Miyako Hotel for an evening during a business trip to Kyoto. The hotel was very close to both the Kyoto station and the drop-off for the buses from the airport. Rooms were comfortable and quite large for Japan. I would gladly stay here again.
Bring your own pillow”
The hotel location is great, right across the road from the Miyako station. The rooms are large and very clean. Plenty of amenities, toothbrush, shampoo, even hair ties. We stayed in a 3 bed room which was really 2 beds and a sofa bed. The rooms are quiet and soundproofed. Vending machines at every floor sell everything from small shots of whisky to cans of Asahi beer. The station has a large choice of restaurants to suit all budgets and palates, seven eleven for supplies etc, so food is not a problem. Beware, none of the places nearby, except the gyoza place, do a takeout, trying to get a pizza delivered to the room just not possible. The kids loved the free photo setup and kimono trial. However the beds are uncomfortably firm and the pillows were even harder. I asked for foam pillows and got a couple of pillows filled with beans. If I'd brought my own pillows this would have been a 5 star experience.
Cozy hotel Opposite Kyoto Station”
The hotel is one of the famous assembly point for the Kyoto city tour. A lot of foreign tourism and the staff are friendly as well. But the check-in process is taking a little bit longer(20 minutes) whichever I can't accept it. Rest all are ok. It just oppposite the Kyto station which very easy for access. But the station is huge. From the subway to Shinkashen, or from JR to subway might talk some walking station as well. There are a lot of restaurants in the Kyoto station and next to the New Miyako hotel is the AEON mall (but it closed on 2100 daily)
Memorable Stay in Kyoto”
I chose Hotel New Miyako for its central location from the Kyoto Railway station. It is well situated so that there isn't any noise from busy traffic intersections and there is a mall sited next to it (Aeon). furthermore, it within a fifteen minutes walk from Toji temple, a UNESCO heritage site. The rooms are spacious by Japanese hotel standards and there are adequate facilities provided in the room. The cleaning and front desk staff are very efficient and polite. They are even willing to extend a late check out to 1.00pm if you ask in advance.
Excellent Hotel”
The Miyako Hotel is a nice 5 star hotel, located across the street from Kyoto Station...super convenient. Rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were first class. Breakfast choices were superb. Only 2 minutes walk to Aeon Mall.
Great Location, across the road from Kyoto Station and near restaurants.”
New Miyako is located just opposite of Kyoto train station. it is very assessible to shopping malls in Kyoto. The beds were hard, room small, but bearable for short stay. Reastaurants and Blue Lagoon Bar quite pricey, just go across to station for dining. Will stay again next time visiting Kyoto.
lovely hotel, great location”
this is the first time we stayed at this hotel. we arrived at kansai airport and took the airport limousine bus to kyoto (jpy2,500). the hotel is only a short walk from the kyoto airport limousine bus terminal, and is directly across the road from kyoto rail station. city bus terminus is located on the other side of the rail station. in other words, all modes of transport were very handy. our room was slightly larger than the typical japanese hotel room, although it is still small in comparison to rooms by western standards. we had a lovely typical japanese breakfast in one of the many restaurants in the hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed it. would like to stay here again if we come back to kyoto.
Wonderful location - perfect after a long day!”
I loved the location of the New Miyako Hotel. We had booked a 1-day Kyoto tour and the pick up point was New Miyako, which is very convenient for people who are not morning friendly (such as my husband and I!) The rooms were relatively big (for Japanese hotel rooms) and the bed was plush, big and comfy - perfect after a long day.
