One of the best hotels we ever stayed in”
There are 3 private onsen in the hotel you can use without reservation if they are free. We managed to try all 3 and they were excellent! Of course there‘s also a public onsen in case the others are occupied. The hotel is by the river and having dinner and breakfast there was outstanding. The location is quiet and you can explore waterfalls, bridges etc nearby. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us with special requests. I would like to stay there again!

Exceptional”
This is one of my favorite ryokans I have stayed at in Japan. The location is a bit remotefrom things but itis surrounded by beautiful nature and the river runs right alongside wherr the dining room is. The staff were so friendly to me as a foreigner. The meals were also delicious and the room were large and spacious. The 4 private onsens were also wonderful. I will definitely come back!

Very good ”
I really recommend this hotel, great onsen, amazing scenery and you can use the private onsens free of charge. We went via public transport which was a little difficult, the buses don’t come often. I’d recommend going by car because there are not many facilities like shops or restaurants around the hotel. Breakfast was delicious. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Review for Agoda, not the ryokan. Be careful to have meals included !”
At check-in, I was told breakfast and dinner were not included in my reservation. Needless to say I was disappointed to realize that today, one needs to make sure they check the meal box for a Ryokan! Ending up paying that much for just a room (that smelled of tobacco) and onsen, while eating convenience store snacks was a disappointing experience. Thank goodness my children could fish nearby to feed my father and I in the morning ! Despite the awful experience, the ryokan is clean and staff is great.

A wonderful hidden treasure!”
If you're looking for the authentic Japanese ryokan experience, this is it. The rooms are tatami , the food traditional and you eat it outside directly overlooking a rippling river (see photos). Make sure you visit all 4 of the hot pools during your visit,2 of which are outside. We are repeaters here - wonderful!

THE BEST!! ”
Beautiful private onsen (4 types) for couples or families and the service was very excellent! Staff went out of the way to make our stay perfect. The futons were also super comfortable and thicker than usual. By far one the best ryokans we stayed at!

An authentic Japanese experience”
We are absolute fans of this traditional Japanese ryokan, frequent repeat guests. Treat yourself to an amazing dinner by the riverside, try each of the four atmospheric hot spring pools and have an authenic Japanese breakfast... Warm friendly hosts. Can't rave about this enough! Highly recommend.

Fantastic hidden ryokan in the Izu Mountains”
Great local hot-spring ryokan. Staff are English-speaking friendly. Very courteous and accommodating. Definitely get the kaiseki (full course set) breakfast and dinner packages. The food is the highlight of this ryokan. The "Kawadoko" dining area alongside the river (kawa) is fantastic - you must see for yourself. For onsen / hot-spring lovers, there are two large gender separated baths (indoor only) but also 4 individual private baths that can accommodate from 2-5 people. They are non-reservable which is not so common but it's great - first-come-first-serve. Just be courteous and don't spend too long - never had a problem using one. Fantastic hidden ryokan. Highly recommended.

Will revisti!”
Actually, I watched a video on YouTube before, so the facilities are not surprising (though it was really a wonderful experience.). But my friend hadn't watched anything before. She was really surprised by the environment, dinner, spring, and the service also. It was a very quiet place. You can listen to the water when having a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. I want to go back again to enjoy this environment. However, compared to other famous places, the traffic there is not very convenient. It took about 3 hours for us to get there from Tokyo. But I don't think it is a shortage. Because that's why there's so quiet. Will revisit there and stay for several days!

Private relaxation heaven”
It is a bit out of the way requiring several transportations to get to this onsen resort. However, it is worth the effort. Beautiful Japanese style guest room, for the 6 floors building with about 4 unit each floor. On floor 4 and 3, there is the 4 private onsen with 2 opens from 3pm to 11:30pm. The other 2 opens from 3pm to the next morning 10am. There is also a big public bath onsen for u to enjoy with other guests. The riverside resort offers riverside dinner and breakfast, u must contact the hotel prior to inform them of ur interest to have a dinner or breakfast during ur stay. I requested the breakfast option and i loved it. The timing of the bus, the train all seems to match up with the check in check out time. It'd be best to arrive around 2:30pm so you may enjoy the onsen shortly after checked in. The check out time is 10am, the bus the goes

Highlight of our trip ”
We wanted to experience a night at a Ryokan, so we booked this place online but the pictures online don't justify the beauty of this place! We had a breathtaking view from our room 604. We can't wait to come back. And the meal is the best we ate so far in Japan.
