Mo Rooms Hotel is literally art that you can live in, with each of the 12 rooms created by an artist as his or her interpretation of a Chinese zodiac. Located within the walls of the old city, you can easily walk to the popular Sunday Walking Street as well as several temples dotting the city. In addition to all rooms varying in shape, an open-concept bathroom, design and décor, the artists also had to follow the principles of Feng Shui. The on-site restaurant serves fusion Thai, and for authentic Thai food you need only walk a few minutes to the several restaurants near the property. Staying at this very boutique Mo Rooms Hotel will give guests a new sense of art, where all senses are put into effect.

Good for One ”
Mo Rooms are quirky and fun apartments that provide you with every thing you need for a great stay in Chiang Mai. The rooms are small and I would definitely recommend that they are probably suitable for one person to stay in only. If you are a couple it is too small. The staff are helpful, however most don't speak good English, so any small issues were difficult to resolve. The wifi is average The pool is great for a dip to cool down, but would have been good to have some area to lie down. Overall good value for money. Good spot to walk in and out of old city. Great coffee shop around the corner called the localist. Definitely check it out if you want great coffee.
Near Sunday Walking Street”
Near Sunday Walking Street Many room type with different style
Great place, people and a surprise.. ”
I decided to book MO rooms for my birthday, as a present..and the room (snake) they give me was really awesome! Superfriendly staff and.. They come to my room with a birthday cake!!! I really enjoyed it! Breakfast is really good and place is super clean. Plus it's nearby the center of Chiang Mai. Reccomanded place. Value of money and staff I will never forget
We like quirky and this hotel is just what we hoped it would be. It's as far removed from the boxlike rooms of the faceless chains of hotels as you can get. We stayed in Pig room which was great and the staff and location make it an ideal place to stay
nice boutique hotel”
The rooms are definitely beautifully designed and unique and quite interesting. We had booked a famous Monkey room for two nights with a major internet booking agent. When we showed up at the hotel they told us there was no Monkey room available for us in the first night but that we would have to change rooms on next day. Even though we didn't like this idea and thought they could have informed us in advance we moved in since we were tired after long long flights and already had payed the room through the agent in advance.
Lovely boutique hotel in the perfect location ”
We only stayed at Mo Rooms for 1 night and would have loved to stay longer. The rooms are funky and comfortable. The staff is nice and helpful. And it is just a few minutes walk to the old bazaar and the Old city! Highly recommended.
Best concept boutique hotel in Chiang Mai!”
I must thank you Ms Chanya and team for all the arrangement made, provided us with hassle free and worry free travels in Chiang Mai during our stay in Mo Rooms for 6 days. We manage to try different rooms and experience its concept. Breakfast was delicious and I will come back!
Great Unique Hotel”
The Hotel locates very close to Ta Pae Gate. It is very convenience to take public transportation since many public cars pass by, or even walk around. The hotel is a bit difficult to recognize from outside. But the interior is very unique. This maybe the most unique hotel we ever stayed. The rooms are separated into 12 types according to Zodiac Theme. The room we stay is goat room. It's very cute. However there are some details doesn't work during stay, but they're not a big deal. If anyone want the new experience in staying, This hotel will be the great one.
Unique Hotel, Friendly & Helpful Staff”
First of all, I was attracted by the unique theme of the hotel rooms. There are 12 different theme of the rooms. I booked Monkey room and the design of the room is really surprised me. The only thing is the water pressure of shower was a bit low. Secondly, I was amazed by the staff who working as Front Office Agent. He name is OP, taking care of the night shift work. He always give us a great smile no matter what time it was, very helpful, can speak fluent English. The location of the hotel is very convenient, near the old city gate, there are many currency exchange shop around the hotel, there is a BOOTS store just around the corner as well.
Relaxing, lots of massage and temples..”
I love the design but was a bit disappointed as I was hoping to be staying in the rabbit room but was given rat instead. Overall, it was ok. And just 1 minute walk to the famous Sunday market. Plenty bars/pubs nearby. But I wish there would be more local cruise restaurant which I can hardly find.
Amazingly designed hotel”
The most amazing design hotel worldwide, & I have been travelling the world on business and for pleasure for over 40 years. Add to this the most friendly and helpful staff and everything spotlessly clean and well presented - the only downside was that I could only spare 2 days there but will be going back in June this year and will definitely stay at Mo Rooms
exciting & one of a kind”
room design is fun & one of a kind, adds attraction to trip, smart layout makes boutique hotel a lovely stay even though it is in a small compound - very different from your regular business or resort hotels. Breakfast is good too.
Very interesting small Minimilist hotel Concrete construction with nice modern design, central pool to cool off. 7/11 nearby . Shower is great good size nice modern design. Small bar and restaurant on ground level very nice stay for 5 nights
Unique hotel with quirky decor ”
We really enjoyed our stay at Mo Rooms - tucked away from the streets and really convenient in terms of access to Old City and the night market. We had the Ox room, which was clean and on the top floor. Only negative was that there was no hot water. Otherwise, a fun place to stay for a night or two.
if the architect did not win an award for the design, construction and finishing for this hotel then he should have done. the most uniquely designed and appointed hotel i have stayed in having been travelling internationally for over 40 years. each of the 12 rooms designed to the zodiac signs and every room totally and uniquely different add to that amazing staff and service, cleanliness then this would rate no. 1
Boutique hotel at its finest”
Mo Rooms was a great respite for us as we travelled from Myanmar to Chiang Mai. It's location right outside the thae pae gate was great cos it means we could walk to the Sunday walking street and the nigh bazaar. Excellent silver shops right across the street and bookshop lane round a turn. Taste from Heaven is on the same side of the street for very good vegetarian food. Rooms are so interesting with only 12 rooms themed according to the Chinese horoscope. It seems that every design detail has been looked into at this boutique hotel. Breakfast was excellent with really good coffee (again, we came over from Myanmar, so we don't take freshly brewed coffee for granted). Staff was exceedingly helpful too. If I have to find something to complain about, it would be the mozzies at the pool area.
Awesome hotel, fantastic staff”
We were shown 4 rooms before we made a booking, after the 2nd room we knew we needed to stay at Mo's abs swapped hotels the next day. Even though we arrived a little after 10 our room was ready and we had been upgraded. Unfortunately a little after midnight our shower broke and water kept running. We were given a choice of 3 rooms to move to and they offered to move our belongings for us the following day. Over our 3 night stay we were lucky enough to be able to experience 3 different rooms (our choice not something we were required to do like in some hotels). On our last day our transport arrived early while we were finishing breakfast. The staff streamlined the check out process for us even collecting the room key and returning a pair of sunglasses we had left at the table. Great hotel, would certainly stay there again if we are ever in Chiang Mai. The rooms are definitely quirky and may not suit everyone but they do make for a great experience. Loved the Horse and Goat rooms in particular.
It's a real special hotel”
they have for every chinese sign of the zodiac a room.i looked at all and it is very difficult to decide, which room to be in. evey bathroom is made special and in different colors. there were also different architects and artists at work to create this different boutique hotel. also the swimingpool was fitting well in the marvelous architecture. i will stay again in this hotel at my next visit to chiang mai.
mo rooms hotel isn’t your average hotel. no reason to go into the details about why it’s unique, those bases have been covered. the staff let us check out a number of the rooms before deciding on the rooster and the stay could have been better. this hotel is very unique and the staff is super friendly.. highly recommend.
Individualist design rooms”
I stayed at the 'pig room' which is at the top floor and lift accessible. Furnished with raw concrete and wooden flooring, rusty-looking steel bar and exposed brick walls. Given it a post-industrial modernised look. There is even a living room. Open concept shower area, no curtain, suitable for couples. The only problem with the room perhaps is the drainage system. Water flow among the pebbles on the floor which can easily flood the shower are..as the water flow is very slow. There are a lot of relax areas with sofa/benches along the corridor, staircase and blind corners which made the whole place even more private. Everything is good except for the still-water swimming pool. Overall its worth staying for its exclusive private space planning and aesthetic elements.
