Good location, friendly staff, many freebies

It's only 5 minutes walk to Sheung Wan MTR station, only a stop to Central MTR Station which connect you to Hong Kong Airport Express station. One of the staff named "Brandon" and he is super friendly. Efficient, helpful and smiling. The other is the security staff who also very kind. The room is unique and modern. Maybe people said its small but hey it's Hong Kong. You'll get free mini bar items, free Internet, free breakfast, free laundry, free happy hours drink. The price is quite cheap consider the location and freebies. Will come back again :)

Lovely hotel in a great location!”

        Spacious, Great location

my husband and i really enjoyed our stay at ovolo, we found the studio room spacious for hong kong hotel standards. i was also pleasantly delighted at how well equipped the room was - there was an ironing board, big umbrella, wifi and you could even use the phone in the room to make local calls for free. the only thing was the bed itself was a little bit small and hard and pillows a little too soft. location was fantastic, we walked most of the time to central! if you want to take the mtr, sheung wan mtr is the nearest (just 5 mins away). hotel staff were also friendly and helpful!

Great location with all conveniences ... but tiny”

Everything included .. toiletries, mini-bar, wi-fi, tea/coffee, and buffet continental breakfast

We arrived by taxi from Hong Kong Station around 1400 on a Sunday having booked through Agoda and were checked in quickly and efficiently by the friendly staff. We verified later that we could have taken the MRT to Sheun Wan, one stop from HK Station, then walked ~200m. south from the Hillier St. exit. Our room 1103 looking out over the front of the hotel was high enough not to be bothered by the street noise. Everything about the room was well designed to fit all conveniences into the space and its provisions were great. It would have been ideal for one person because it was definitely cramped for two. One had to sit still on the bed while the other moved around. So in this respect it wasn't really suitable for an elderly couple like us, especially getting in and out of bed which consisted of a mattress on a low platform ... very much like sleeping on the floor really. What we liked most about the room design was the shower room (can't call it the bathroom because .. you guessed it .. no bath) which was efficiently laid out and comfortable to use. We went out for several hours and returned on the MRT to walk around the hotel area and found numerous eating places serving local fare at reasonable prices. There was even a Thai restaurant 100m. up Hillier St. which we didn't try because we never eat Thai away from home. But closer to the hotel was a fried pork dumpling stand (read Gyoza) which was very good indeed. So our night at the hotel was ok but hampered by having to step over each other to get to the toilet a couple of times (like old folks need to). I was quite surprised that sounds from the other rooms on the floor were barely audible considering their proximity. Anyway, morning came and we went down to the second floor lounge for breakfast which was excellent in its provisions. No complaints there at all. We checked out about 1040, again fast and efficient .. no fuss because everything in the room including the mini-bar stock was free of ch

        Design, location and staff

Getting there - Take the Airport Express from the airport to Hong Kong Station (easy). Follow the signs for the free shuttle bus. There are 4 different buses. If you say you are going to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel (H1 - western district) the lady will direct you to the correct shuttle bus or direct you to some seats to wait. The Holiday Inn is the first, stop 8. When you get off the shuttle bus at the Holiday Inn, look south, uphill, for a Macdonalds Sign. Cross the road and walk up the steps to MacDonalds (less than 100 paces). Turn left and the hotel is across the road next to Café O (40 paces). Reception is on the 2nd floor. Free laundry and gym on 3rd floor. Very good free Ovolo map of Hong Kong in reception. The hotel is fantastic. Modern, full of style, and brilliant staff. If we owned a hotel this would be it. Around Hong Kong - We can recommend the tramway up to the Peak - great views. We also went to Cheung Chau Island on the ferry. Good day out.

small rooms but excellent value ”

Great location close to MTR, shops and restaurants. Also daily stocked mini bar, nightly happy hour and washing and drying facilities all complimentary.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Rooms were tiny and compact they were well designed and we managed to organise our cases and clothes so they weren't in the way. Rooms were very modern in design. We spent most of our time out and about in Hong Kong so the size of the room wasn't really an issue. The added free extras made this hotel great value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly, communication was not an issue, they also were happy to give us a late check out at no extra cost. Hotel is in a perfect position to explore Hong Kong we enjoy walking so the stairs and steep hills were not a problem, but it is within easy walking distance of the MTR and buses and taxis are right outside the door. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

        Small room but fabulous hotel!”

Great location, free happy hour, friendly staff

What a fantastic find this hotel was! We were allowed to check into our hotel early, and although the room is small, it was more than enough for a couple who were only using the hotel to sleep and get ready in! It was exceptionally clean, with lots of added bits to make the stay even nicer (goody bag, bathroom products, free wifi) There was a free mini bar in the room which supplied water, coke, beer and juice, and a free 2 hour happy hour everyday where guests could help themselves to alcohol and snacks! I would definitely recommend this hotel to people wanting to stay on Hong Kong Island. A perfect hotel for people using it as a base and spending most of the day in Hong Kong.

Great value for money and calm”

Staff is very helpfull and a free mini bar

and it’s exactly that way. I changed my plans last minute and booked this one on AGODA. Never heard of OVOLO hotel but the location and the price suited me so I booked it as my usual picks were full. Overall experience was wonderful. This is probably one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in but this is one of the best nights in 40 years of travel. Upon check in, they great you with a smile and offer you a glass of wine! Then they tell you to relax in a sofa while doing the registration. After all is done a nice lady take you to the room which is unbelievably small but surprisingly warm and cozy and explains you how to handle all the gimmicks. Everything is design, ultra-modern and functional. Free wifi and this one is definitely a first FREE MINI BAR still wonder how they managed to insert a mini bar in a mini room. The second floor reception/lounge has drinks, snacks and fruit and it’s all free. I felt like in the first class lounge at the airport. I am not a big believer in spiritual things like “feng shui “ but if this exist they definitely used it in the OVOLO I felt like a strange calm and relaxing atmosphere in addition to the staff being extremely friendly. I have met thousands of hotel staff these ladies were especially nice, Again “Feng Shui” maybe? If you are a couple with two suitcases you will have a problem with this room seems they are all identical in this property, but if you are a solo traveler that just needs the hotel for the shower and the bed this is the best value for money in Hong Kong I will definitely be back.

        Great Location with great facilities”

Location, minibar, lounge, lovely staff, design, outlay

i stayed at this beautiful ovolo hotel for 6 days, outling my best stay in hk ever. the hotel location was near to sheung wan mtr and there's alot of shops near to the hotel making purchasing of daily necessities as easy as 1-2-3. the room is small but yet okay enough for a single or two travellers, the design of the hotel and the room is beautiful, modern, stylish and hip, having a huge tv in the room is a plus point. it's totally ingenious how they created space in hk, having being able to hang my suits in such a special way. the staff at the reception was very professional and yet homely, getting everything done fast. the suprising thing was, the drinks in the mini-bar in the room is totally free, that includes two bottles of beer! (though i am not a beer fan), there's also the lounge with all day free-flow soft drinks and nespresso and free alcohol form 6pm to 8pm! what more can you ask for, for this good price that you pay. if you are going to central and wants to live on hk island, this is definitely the hotel to stay being so near to soho, lam kwai fong and other places of interest to visit. i will definitely come back to stay at this hotel again 200%!

truly fantastic hotel right in the heart of hk”

24 hour complementary waters, coffee, and sodas, happy hour, laundry!

My friend and I wanted to visit Hong Kong after working in Macau. We had a GREAT time at the Ovolo. It was the first time in HK for both of us and we felt like we definitely found the right hotel for us. The purpose of our trip was to just get a feel for what we found out is one of the most amazing cities in the world. Yes it is true the rooms are small. Do not book a city twin with a friend you are not that close to, or might have awkwardness with living in a 150 foot room. The two beds are RIGHT next to each other, basically sleeping in the same bed, and the bathroom is right there so there is not a ton of privacy. My friend and I didn't care because we've been through a lot together in the ten years we have known each other and know each other very well so the small space didn't bother us in the least. (You do have to always fold up your suitcase because there is not enough room to keep it open especially when you have two people and two suitcases. My friend and I basically "choreographed" our daily getting ready routines). But although the room was small, it is so clean and well decorated. The products in the bathroom are great and the shower pressure and shower head made it one of the best showers I have ever taken. There is a mini bar in the room stocked with complementary waters and beers that get restocked daily. The hotel is brand new (opened this past June) so everything is top notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. There is complementary wi-fi, breakfast every morning, happy hour, waters, soda, coffee, apples/bananas available 24/7, AND free laundry WITH detergent!!! (Seriously I was so thrilled about the laundry...it's the little things). The hotel is right in the heart of the everything so you can easily walk to the cool bars and restaurants, shopping, and the subway station to go to Kowloon or Lantau. I think you can tell I had a great trip in the four days I was there and can't wait to get back to HK and the Ovolo!

It was the location of Ovolo Noho that persuaded me to book. This was my first visit to Hong Kong and I understand that rooms there are very small, and it was. However the bathroom and shower were perfectly fine with generous amounts of towels and products, including tissues, cotton buds, mouthwash, toothbrush and paste etc. And a lovely rainfall shower with a very sensible spray option. The free mini bar (with soft drinks and a couple of beers) is very welcome for the weary traveller along with the bag of goodies - peanuts, crisps etc. The free tote bag is a nice touch. The free laundry is also a boon. The breakfast was fine for me with two or three warm items (they definitely weren't hot) and good coffee in the cafe. On the downside, the bed was only slightly above the floor on a very low platform. I'm not sure why it couldn't have been a real bed, taking up no more space. I inadvertently left on the 'do not disturb' light when I left the room for the day, assuming the light would automatically go off, so my room was not made up. However staff were quick to take away my rubbish and offer me free replacement beers from the happy hour bar, when I mentioned it. Like so many hotels, lighting, especially in the bathroom, was fancy rather than functional and putting on make up involved guesswork on one side of my face. There are no opulent reception areas or liveried staff but this is a place that works, with pretty much everything you need included.

        Great Things in Small Packages”

Location convenient to MRT and dining and shopping and night life; happy hour provides a wonderful way to meet other travelers; terrific Assistant Manager!

My room was very small, but incredibly well organized and appointed. There was plenty of room for everything except large suitcases and folded clothing. The room was quiet and well-lighted, and the bed extremely comfortable. The MTR is a five minute walk and the trolley even closer. The breakfast buffet was fine, and the in-house cafe could serve up any kind of coffee you could desire. The hotel specializes in small "extras" that make one's stay special - from the stocked (free) mini-bar to the happy hour every evening which provides a great opportunity to get to know other guests. The Assistant Manager, Ian Au, seems to genuinely love playing host at happy hour, and is generous with his advice and time. The next time I travel to Hong Kong, I will make a beeline for the Ovolo Noho unless I am traveling with my husband, since I think the size of the room would prove inadequate for two for all but the shortest stay.

can't find fault with this amazing hotel”

Good location, wonderful service and comfortable stay

We are a family of five that that stayed for 4 nights at Ovolo 286 recently. The hotel is very well located and close to the tram and MTR stations, also surrounded by a lot of good eating places, shops and historical buildings, such as Man Mo temple and Western Market. The Macau ferry point is within walking distance. When checking in, the staff was very helpful and efficient. The rooms were amazing, with adequate space for luggages and shopping bags, nice-sized bathroom and a a large comfortable bed. The towels were thick and soft, the toiletries provided were very nice. Hotel breakfast was western style with good variety, the Happy-hour (6-8pm) was a life-saver, and not to mention the free mini-bar in the rooms(!!) and a "loot bag". We were usually out the whole day so did not have a chance to use the gym, which looked inviting. The free laundry/drier machines were put to good use as Hong Kong was really hot and humid when we were there, and the perspiration was no joke. We enjoyed our stay so much that everyone agreed that we will book Ovolo 286 whenever we return to visit HK!

        Great value”

Well designed rooms, great value for money, generous free extras

Excellent hotel . The room was small but very well designed so nowhere near as cramped as many hotel rooms in Hong Kong must feel. Lovely staff who were always helpful. Fantastic extras such as free breakfast, free wifi in the hotel and at hotspots across Hong Kong, free mini bar with snacks, beer and soft drinks, welcome goodie bag with more snacks. Spotlessly clean room too. All in all, excellent value. I'd be delighted to stay here again.

Good location, friendly and helpful staff, comes highly recommended”

I loved this hotel and would return. From the minute I arrived, I was greeted by warn and friendly staff. The hotel is centrally located close to some of the popular bar and shopping districts, within walking distance. The rooms are a bit small, but this is Hong Kong, however, what it lacks in space it makes up in other ways. Its all about the small touches, e.g. the fully stocked bathroom (mouth wash, earbuds, cottonpads in abundance), a fully stocked mini-bar (free of charge) to name but a few. And of course wifi was superfast!Great place!

Small rooms, but everything else made up for it”

Modern, clean, great amenities, happy hour, location

though it is located in a rather obscure building, it was not difficult to find. a tip would be for future guests to look up google street view and have a rough idea of what it looks like in the area before arriving. location was fantastic, a short walk from sheung wan mtr, and if you're feeling energetic, definitely walkable from central mtr, ifc, lan kwai fong and soho area. it is not far from the mid levels escalators too. the rooms and lobby were in excellent condition. the daily happy hour was an added bonus that was very well-received. i am big fan of malin+goetz amenities and was pleasantly surprised that they were part of the bathroom amenities. the only downside was that the rooms were really small and we barely had space to open up our luggages, and they have to be kept upright if we needed to walk around the room. despite being very tiny, the space was well managed and designed and i didn't feel claustrophobic. apple tv was great too, we could airplay our movies from our server back home. i think this place will be perfect for a business traveler, solo traveler or couples that do not mind being in each others' faces too much. definitely not for families.

        Wonderful Stay!”

        Location, Comfort, Price

Great hotel that's right in the thick of the action. Affordable for a hotel that's in the Central district on Hong Kong Island. Good for those who just need a central base to stay as rooms can be quite small but they're well-designed to make the most of the space. Comfortable bed and all modern cons. Close to the bars/restaurants and shops. Great staff; very friendly and great communicators. Fantastic mini bar.

Everything is basically free, great location, amazing staff

The staff was super friendly and very helpful. It was great to get every for free such as laundry, snacks, drinks, and much much more. The amenities were top shelf items. They offer much more than another other hotels that we stay during our travels. The location was perfect for our 1st time in Hong Kong we were close to everything. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Hong Kong.

Great location and awesome family of hotels in HK”

        Location, Comfort and Service

I always stay at the Ovolo Queen's Road Central when I visit Hong Kong. The rooms are very small as most are in Hong Kong but the hotel is clean, well designed and the staff is very accommodating. I would and have recommended this hotel to anyone needing a hotel in Central.

Best boutiques hotel in all the world”

Comfortable, safe, modern, value for money

Excellent. Friendly and very helpful staff, great location, closed to restaurants, night life, Lan Kwai Fong, the trains stations, the Airport Air Express. The breakfast included was selective but good. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, safe, modern and compact. Even though the land Hong Kong is one of the most expensive in the world, this hotel is cheaper, more comfortable and value for money, and more space than any of the those same star hotels in Cologne, Paris, even Melbourne. And like no other same star hotels in the world, the drinks in the mini bar and in the lounge, are free!
