Beautiful hotel and superb service”
We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel and had a wonderful experience. Everything was excellent - service, food, room, vibe, and onsen bath. I was a little nervous initially because we didn’t speak Japanese but the staff made us feel welcome, in particular the manager who checked us in and showed us to our room. The hotel is very conveniently located near the Amanohashidate train station and the sandbar. Our traditional room had a view of the garden and river. The whole place had a very peaceful and tranquil ambience perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto or Osaka. I highly recommend it!

A nice hotel”
Very nice hotel. Friendly staff that worked hard everyday. The hotel is very nice, old is some parts, but new section of the hotel is nice. Dinners were very authentic Japanese, but not a lot of variety especially with breakfasts. Practically the same thing served every morning with just one or two things changed. There was also no flexibility or alternatives to the menu even if we couldn't eat some of the food. The location was excellent as well.

My family spent one night in Monjuso, a Japanese vintage style hot spring hotel. At first, we were impressed by their very warm hospitality service from the senior female staff, such as welcoming etiquette, introducing facilities and bathrobe, and turn-down service. Then, we found the junior staff are not well-trained, and sometimes are even rude—some of them keep hands in pockets while talking to us. Monjuso does provide mineral hot spring, and their archaic guestrooms and decoration just match all the atmosphere in ancient town of Miyazu. We would be willing to spend more nights in Monjuso next time.

Typhoon Trami Experience in excellent Monjusu Hotel”
During the weekend that we had reserved to explore Amanohashidate & surroundings, typhoon Trami passed. But due to our excellent room, the delicious food, the beautiful onsen and the very courteous service, we had a very good weekend. The helpful staff has made that we found a ticket on the highway bus to Kyoto, as trains were still disrupted that monday. The returned sunshine on that same morning allowed us still a nice beachwalk in this attractive place . Many thanks again to Monjusu Hotel, from which we will keep a very good memory despite Trami !

Nice Japanese styled onsen hotel.”
Located right next to the canal that connects the two sides of Amanohashidate. About five minutes walk away from the bridge that swings open for bigger boats to go through. The room we got was quite old but well maintained. The staff and service were amazing. Although the description on Agoda page says no private bath, but the room we got has a bathroom with bathtub in it, along with two separate toilet(Japanese style and western style) rooms.

Excellent value for money, and experience of Japan”
Highly recommend. This is a relatively large ryokan but still gives traditional Japanese experience. Location is great for exploring this part of Kyoto. Amazing dinner, and breakfast. Rooms are a bit dated, but they more than make up for it in the service.

A 5-star Ryoan with no complaint at all”
Although it is quite costly to stay in this ryoan but the stay was very pleasant and full of joy. The staff of the Ryoan are all well trained, well mannered , full of patient and they really made my stay so memorable and a place to miss. Will come back to this ryoan again in future...

I wish I could stay here for more than 1 night.”
Definitely will come back and stay at this hotel when I travel to Miyazu again. The outdoor hot spring was awesome. It was an unforgettable experience in the cold weather. The room was big and with a modern bathroom, and the view outside our room in the morning was amazing. Very quiet and chill, I wish I could stay in my room with some hot tea (you can find a full tea set and Nespresso coffee machine in your room) and spend a lazy afternoon. I will do it when I come back next time. The breakfast provided was MASSIVE. Tasty and you will be surprised. It was sad that I did not book for the dinner as well. But the staff were super nice and helpful. We arrived at 6 something in the evening and they helped us to call and find a restaurant that were still open. We were happy with everything of this hotel.
