Pretty good stay”
Monkey Motel is located in a convenient spot. Very near the famous Jonker Walk while away from the hustle bustle of the street itself. We walked past it once without noticing because the metal bars were pulled over the door and locked up. Called the number on the door and staff was quick to attend to us. We booked the double room with private bathroom. Room is a little small, but the bed was comfortable. Overall clean. Aircon is working well, wifi signal is strong even when we are in the room. Towels and soap are provided. We were handed two keys. One for our room and one for the lock of the motel. Which means it is flexible for us to enter and exit the motel anytime with an ease of mind that the items are safe. I quite like the concept that we are handed a copy of keys to the motel itself. Feels like home. There is movie screening every night but we missed it cause we were too tired. Checked out the next day and sat at the lobby area watching Purge - Anarchy. Staff didn't show any displeasure of us staying after the check out timing, and even started chatting with us regarding the show. Overall we are pretty satisfied with the service.

Very clean and friendly staff!”
We had a great four night stay at the Monkey Motel. The rooms are small but clean, and the shared bathroom is also very clean. It's in a great location right next to Jonker St and close to the weekend night markets. It also has laundromat facilities (RM5 for a wash or dry) that were very convenient. The floorboards are quite creaky so you will hear people passing by outside your room, but we didn't find this too much of a disturbance. We would go back if in Melaka again - it's a great base for exploring!

Awesome Customer Service”
A good budget accommodation for a couple of nights stay in the centre of Malaka. The rooms are basic and cosy but comfortable. Compared to other hotels in the area the Monkey Motel felt like good value. The owner & staff are both welcoming and helpful, which makes all the difference at this price point. We would definitely stay here again!

Fun & Good stay, good location enjoy nightlife ”
Previous time with my couples, now bring my classmates to enjoy the guest house environment, it's safety & secure. Lovely place & clean. Friendly staff was spending time to take us tour to Melaka. Weekdays daytime to Jonker Street to have the Chicken Rice Ball, people are crowded everywhere. Weekdays nightlife quite fun & relax, to the Anak Nyonya Restaurant, Jonker, Melaka River Cruise, Satay Celop and the River Side, it won't feel bored to stay at Melaka as well. Good choice that we stay back at Monkey Guest House. Wonderful.

Great location with a friendly host”
We took a little time searching for this guesthouse as it was tucked in a quiet corner, yet right in the middle of Jonker Street. Our friendly host, Andy, welcomed us and showed us to the rooms upstairs and allowed us to pick our room. We picked the last room but it had a window facing the back alley so you could hear vehicle sounds all day but it was no big deal - the bustling sounds are part of being in Jonker Street. We loved the comfortable double bed and the clean room. The room was just enough to fit the bed and a clothestand and that was about it - really basic but we were happy as we didn't need much. There were 2 shared bathrooms which were clean and had hot showers. Showering was not a problem as the guesthouse only had 9 rooms and it wasn't at full capacity. The location was great as it was after all, in Jonker Street. Overall, we had a lovely, homey, & fuss-free stay and we'd love to go back again.

Good stay, enjoyable & warm greetings staff”
Small luxury accommodation, good to stay and the staff was very friendly, we felt welcomed upon arrival. I think it was my second time to stay in, it was feel like my own house. Nice design rooms comes with different colours at the wall, at least the room can add one tiny table or desk. The other facilities is good and good location to Jonker Street, lovely! Good option to stay at Monkey Guest House.

hidden gem in jonker street”
it was a real value for money, with only rm80 per night at peak season, u are able to get a double room equipped with clean bed, towel and bottles water. the only option which we were left with was a double room with shared bathroom, thus had to wait for our turns to use the washroom(2 shared bathrooms to be shared among the residents), washrooms are surprisingly clean with hot shower (1 of them spoiled during pur visit) and shampoo. the room is smaller than i expected but the size is just nice for 2. love the design of the guesthouse as it has a touch of contemporary and overall the place is neat. the place is just few minutes walk from jonker street thus the location is superb! last but not least, the staff/owner, Andy was really helpful suggesting us where to park our car and also to lead us to the guesthouse cuz we were kinda lost. Definitely will stay there again during my next visit to malacca!

Good Location and lovely small luxury guest house!”
It's awesome. Good location to Jonker Street, boutique guesthouse with a friendly staff (Andy), what can I say? Lovely and he was allow me and my classmate to pick our favourite colour room. The design was nice like French style. Room a bit small but the bed is comfortable, air cond was strong enough. It's not a big deal for me with share bathroom, it's suite for backpackers, teenagers or couples. Toilet is clean at all. Certainly come back next time, excellent!

simple cozy and very convenient ”
Very small and basic room and bathroom, but it's enough for travelers. The "lobby" aka common area is very comfy to chill in although is quite small with a couch and some chairs and a huge projector screen. The guy there is very friendly and helpful, it's nice to just chill around, using the wifi, have a small chat with him. 5-10 minutes walk to Jonker Street night market but in a quite street, so it's good for those that want to sleep in a quiet place but still close to the happening and touristic area. Parking space available, about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. a convenient store right at the corner. It looks like a small cafe from the outside but i don't think they are working as a cafe now, they do only laundry service and hotel.

Short overnight stay”
1 night stay in this small little Monkey guest house is ok for me and my sister. The staff here is really nice as he will be attend to all your request to make sure we have comfortable stay. For the night walk of JOnker street, it is just a few steps away from our guest house. It is not noisy as other guest house might experince, this guest house provide a comfortable and nice stay. Attraction that near to this guest house are Jonker street, Cheng Hoe museum, red house, hardrock cafe, famous chiecken rice etc. It is really ccentrally located if you do not wish to walk too far to access these attractions. The rooms here are small, but it is clean enough to give a comfortable stay.

Ok to stay for budget travellors”
We decided to go to Malacca at very last minute, all the hotels we want to stay is fully booked for that weekend. So we just choose this one next to Joker Street. It's very very basic, just to sleep. But no complain, as the price is only 1/4 compare the others.

Great location, nice little place”
The hostel is nice and clean and the owner is incredibly nice and friendly. Right in the midst of Jonker and we had a lovely breakfast sandwich. The only negative would be the size of the room, but for the price and the location and everything else considered, it's worth it

The Santo Inn”
I have stayed in this inn twice. It is located in Jonker Street, getting around Jonker Street is easy. We were given 2 keys (one for the room, one for the main entrance) because we need to open/lock the door ourselves at night. I think the safety there is ok as there's a cafe that open until midnight on the same street, so if there's anything happen we can call for help easily. The room is simple, just bed complimented with a standing coat hanger, 2 plug points (which is more than sufficient for a room). Air cond is cooling enough. There's a small window so you can choose to open it if you need ventilation. Overall ventilation of the room is good, we did not open the window at all. We like the decorations in the common area, it's very artsy. There are benches at ground floor & second floor for people to hang out. However, the door lock is knob-type which I think can be easily swiped open with a card, so we make sure our valuables are not in the room when we left the room. And the sharing bathroom is very small, & the wall is not clean & yellowish (floor & toilet bowls are clean) & the paint on the wall is peeling off, but for a 1 star guesthouse this is not bothering me. The owner is quiet but friendly. Overall this inn is value for the price.

Great Location”
The guest house is very decent, and the room was very clean. The location of the guest house was behind Jonker streets which makes guest easy access to the popular food streets of Malacca. Around the guest house you can find convenient store which open late until 1 am.

Close to Jonker Street but avoid the jam, it’s so convenience”
Pros: the hotel is clean, and near to the sightseeing & jonker street, just a 3-5mins walk. Although there is not parking slot provided, but there are plenty public space to grab. The host is very friendly and helpful. Cons: The water for shower is slow & not strong enough, hope it can be improved. Overall: It’s a very nice place to stay if you’re busy out there for whole day, and back in the evening. it’s just like your home. No crowded location, no noise. Cute cats in the street.

Nice for a short stay.”
Nice location and worth for the price! The location also quiet strategic as it was nearby the Jonker Street. It is very convenient to visit the night market and other attractions. Highly recommended! But the best is still the staff were helpful, prompt & friendly.
