Spacious room in a refurbished residential building”
Located in quiet, un-scale’ish, residential neighbourhood, we picked Montrose as we want to be close to the gay nightlife. We booked a Deluxe Suite, and was given 223 though our balcony actually just opened to street level. The decor of the room looked exactly like the photos, modern chic and just a little over-the-top. It was a very spacious room, plus a very large bathroom. It only has some small windows at one end of the room, so the room was somewhat dark. The king size bed was comfortable. The wifi worked well. Overall, the suite was comfortable and homey, not super luxurious, but felt like staying at home. The one small annoyance was that the suite does smell a bit like an old building, and the ventilation is not great, so the room has a bit of a lingering smell.
Phenomenal stay!”
Best shower ever! Close to all activities and restaurants...short ride away (walking too, if you don’t mind). Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Chef Bryan went out of his way to introduce himself and was so welcoming. We had left to go to Santa Monica for a few days, but changed our plans and re-booked and returned home to the Montrose!
A nice place, just dont use the room telephone”
This is a classy place very well located and our room was very nice. Service was generally good. When we booked, it was this place or another smart LA hotel and we picked this place as the pool area looked as nice as the other choice, but when we arrived the pool was gone and it was being completely renovated, so had we known we would not have booked this place. Also, I had to make numerous phone calls, all in California and we were charged an obscene cost, I just paid it and they took a bit off but I was charged like $120 for a 45 minute call within California. Then on checkout I carefully detailed all that I consumed from the mini bar, about 5 items, and they were duly charged. A week later I see they then charged me again for the same items. I called and said wouldn't it have been better to have let me know, to be polite, and also the extra charge we agreed was in error, they charged me again for the mini bar items I had already told them about. So that wasn't good, someone was lazy and this bugged me as I had to call them from Australia to have this fixed. So Le Montrose is a nice place, but theres no pool ATM and there wont be for 6 months I would say, and their agoda ad doesn't mention this and they way overcharge on local phone calls and watch out for extra incorrect charges added.
Wonderful”
The employer are very nice, the room is feel great, near Hollywood, but quite and safe.beverly center is near by,many food can choose there,I and my husband are very like the hotel, when back again,we will choose again for sure
Happy home away from home. ”
Excellent place to relax at and a perfect location for hanging out in West Hollywood with great access to so many things. Literally just a few minutes from Sunset Boulevard/Strip/Plaza and Santa Monica Boulevard. Sur, Tom Tom, Pump, Rocco's, Rage, Revolver, The Abbey, the Pavillions for groceries and many other places are just down the hill. Far enough off to avoid the noise. A little pricey when comparing to others for the condition of the hotel. Staff were most always very happy, helpful and pleasant.
nice, funny, friendly staff”
very nice, close to west Hollywood, and we could walk to Walk of fame in 40 minutes, easy to take local bus to Universal studios
Great hotel ”
The hotel as a whole is amazing! My favorite thing was the beautiful and artsy room. My other favorite thing was happy hour food/ the Parmesan fries with banana ketchup was off the chart! The waiter and valet were fabulous! The front desk staff was fine but not exceptional but I’m also comparing it to all all the other awesomeness! I wanted to extend my stay and the front desk seemed bothered by my request so I didn’t get to stay an extra night. Which is funny cause same day i heard a guest leave a day early- and they told him he would still have to pay for that night since it was booked online. Which was funny! Just wish they had been more accommodating since i was asking to extend my stay. Valet parking is high but it’s typical for that area and last but not least there’s only street parking til 7pm if you have a guest - that’s a nuisance. :/ there was no where nearby for them to park i would stay again tho!
Awesome hotel”
the hotel was well situated just off the sunset strip and santa monica blvd, the rooms were very nice and spacious and were very modern in appearance. i loved the separate bedroom with a decent sided living area with large flat screen tv, sofa bed and couch chair and a gas fire place. there was also a table and chairs to sit at and a small but fully equipped kitchen (cooking utensils required from room service) i would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again if i return although i did find the service to be a little lackluster as i am still waiting on my milk i phoned for. i also found the servicing of the rooms each day was a little less than great, although the towels were alway fresh and clean and the bed always made. staff were very nice, friendly and helpful to every request.
Excellent last minute surprise”
As a last minute booking the prices were reasonable for the value offered at the hotel. Amazing views over LA, the rooftop swimming pool and tennis court on a sunny day are delightful
A nice stay”
It's walking distance to sunset blvd and several minutes drive from shopping places such as Beverly Center and Rodeo Drive. The room is big, with one TV in living room and another in bedroom. However the TV is too close to the wall so it took us a while to plug in HDMI. The free wifi is kinda slow but they do have charged and faster ones. There is a small swimming pool on the top and the view there is awesome.
their main attraction is the pool roof”
The price was a little above what I expected and was disappointed that they failed to mention there was NO POOL ACCESS! I feel I should've gotten a discount because I was not able to experience the full potential of what the hotel had to offer but besides that it was nice. Thin walls, you could hear neighbors above and beside you. Beautiful hotel and view is phenomenal; although, the telephone pole wires were practically arms reach so you had to loo ok past that to enjoy you r horizon. I don't think it was worth 375 but it was a pleasant stay. The beds are unbelievably comfortable.
Nice / Clean Hotel with Tennis Court...”
We had a King Suite on the 5F, room 500. It was very clean and everything worked. Bathroom was actually nicer and more modern than many more expensive "branded" hotels. Only complaints were the amount of weed being smoked CONSTANTLY by everyone at the hotel and the doorway into the connecting "suite" was so thin, I basically knew everything about the people staying there. I just turned up the TV and tried to ignore it. But all in all...it was fine.
Great Location”
Played a show at the Whisky that night so the location was great but the late 3:00pm check in was rough as I was driving from San Diego and had sound check at 5. After paying almost 300.00 for a room there was 40.00 for parking... ouch. Over all we were in the room for a total of 6 hours but it was a nice room.
Great location!”
If the price is competitive, this is a good place. Only issue is theyère still finishing up a renovation. Morning bar not ready yet, among other things.
Great week in West Hollywood”
Excellent stay. Room was perfect, location was two blocks from Sunset strip, very central to LA tourist spots and lots of great restaurants on the strip. The rooftop pool is perfect to hang out at and having restaurant bat service is there was nice. Parking is by concierge and added up over the course of 5 days but it was worth it. Would stay here again, no question.
Smack bang in the middle of everything”
Great hotel down the hill from Sunset Boulevard and up the hill from Santa Monica Boulevard. Great transport options no problem getting around and easy to walk around if you wish from this funky 70s style hotel
Pleasant stay, big cozy room”
Love this hotel. Nice cozy rooms. There are a few malls located just 5-15mins drive away from the hotel. Quite centrally located, And in the residential area, surrounding was nice and quiet. Base carparking can be a hassle when it is already small and cramped.
Staff could be more friendly”
There was one person that seemed to be a manager who helped us and offered assistance. She cared. Other than her, people were not interested in rendering any service. They were just there, waiting to leave as their shift ended. That’s what we felt. We also did not understand the amenities fee charged over the room. US 25.00 per day. We paid but did not use anything out of the ordinary.
Excellent staff and location ”
Pleasantly surprised. The rooms are large and modern. Something that stood out was how the staff were always happy, courteous with guests and each other.
Would love to have had longer...”
Only had one night here but would have loved to have had longer. In room amenities were great, as was the roof-top pool. Staff were fabulous. Would definitely come back to stay again.
