Nice and comfortable room”
i have been to maldives for business trip so many times and i always stay in mookai suites. i have treid many hotels but no other hotel like this one. if you compare the price, size of room, facility, location. i gaurantee this is one of the best for business traveller. the staff is well performed and the hotel/room is clean. the location is probably a bit far from the jetty but consider that male is pretty small. it is only some distance of walking. there are many restaurants around the neighborhood that you can sit and eat or even in the hotel.

Worth your money for accomodation in Male'”
i have stayed in mookai suites one time before and decided to try out other hotel/suites. i have to come back to mookai suites. it's in a good location and peaceful area. the room is big and clean. services of the staff is very good and very friendly. since male' is a small island so you don't need to stay clost to the jetty. mookai suites is a walkable distance and very close to many nice restaurants and supermarkets. the cost of rental is worth paying compare to other hotels in the same price.

Nice hotel if you have to stay in Male”
The stay at Mookai suites was very comfortable. Its a nice business hotel and a very good option if you have to stay in Male. Off course you can't compare this with any hotel or resort in any of the islands in Maldives. Its purely recommended if you have to stay purely for business or as a transit option to any of the islands. The staff is good, the food is okay. Since I am a pre vegetarian, I had very limited options available but overall it was not bad. Male is a very small city and you can reach anywhere in Male in 15 minutes maximum, hence location is not very important but still the location of Mookai Suites is very good and if you are higher up the floors, you get a very good view of the ocean as well.

not really a suite”
this is a pretty good compromise place. don't pay a fortune for nothing wonderful - mookai suites will suit most people. only it's not a suite or self-catering. you have to book the two rooms that constitute a suite to be able to use the cooking facilities. they even took stuff away when i asked to use the hotplates. you can use the lounge facilities - just not the cooking facilities which seems pretty self-defeating by management leading to complaints by people like me. the location isn't the greatest but not many places in male are, very quiet - food is ok but dinner starts at 7.30 which is too late for most - again self-defeating - i only ate there once because very hungry by 6 or so with an early start

Stay in Male”
We stayed 2 nights in the Mookai suites, before a very nice stay on a Resort Island. It is quite convenient to stay first on the main Island and after move to the Resort. The Mookai Suites are great and spacious, the staff is realy friendly and helpful. I also talked to the Manager and he was very competent as well. However, I was disappointed of the local people and their environment. the streets are narrows and crowded, the people on the street are not helpful and don't understand that the tourism sector and hospitality is a major income for them. I live and work in Thailand and travel a lot, staying in 4 and 5 star resort/hotels. I have to admit that the value for money and friendliness is much better in Thailand. But I think you have to go at least 1 time to Maldives before it disappears in the sea.

Decent place to stay in Male”
my stay at mookai was for one night only as we landed at midnight in male, so basically a night's sleep and a shower, the hotel is located close to the fish market and the jetties. the area itself is nice, shops nearby, etc... saying so, male is a pretty small city and nowhere is far away. our room was clean and tidy, we got two towels although we booked for 3 people, but that was easily corrected with a phone call. there is no minibar or even drinking water though, so that was bad. in general, pretty good.

Fit the Bill”
The Mookai, is a basic business hotel in Male, and a good place to spend a night before heading to the atolls. Service was lovely, and we were given a room upgrade, as it was evident we were exhausted by the time we checked in at 10:30pm and reception was aware we were off the next day to the islands to start our honeymoon. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Each room has there own AC, and the common areas are kept tidy and organized.

We were not too sure where to stay before going to our booked resort. Since we need to find the place to stay in Male one night. The Hotel itself was not too bad. We were comparing with MooKai hotel from others reviewed, we were really concerned about the cleamliness of the hotel so we selected this from the picture it looked nicer. and it was ok .Going from the jetty take a cab (extra 3$) about 5 min we got to the hotel. The room was ok but since we need to share living room with others (They were noicy and one time try to open our door which I hope that they are thinking that nobody in the next room) I would recommended if you are going in group of 4 or more then you will get a whole suite to yourself but if only 2. It was not bad for one night stay from transit.Don't expect much from it.

Communication by email prior to arrival was disappointing, but once at hotel, staff were very helpful and polite. Meals at restaurant are good. Good fruit at breakfast. I suggest that best to find own way to hotel from airport (easy and cheap to get ferry from airport and then taxis MVR25 to hotel). Tell driver to Mookai Suites not Mookai Hotel. Rooms quite generous size. Suite ideal for stays of several days. Suite common room includes good size fridge and washing machine. Bar fridge in the room. AC good. Safe in room. Price is market value. Can get cheaper but rooms are good and very comfortable.

Decent place for business traveler”
The rooms are decent, and the service is prompt. Just make sure you get a taxi driver who knows where this hotel is, because the first taxi driver took us to Mookai Hotel instead. Just a note, the charges from Agoda says this hotel provides taxi transfer to airport, but there is no such service from them during our arrival and departure from Male. We are forced to pay for the taxi fare on both occasion.

Good for a night's stay”
We were heading to a resort at Meemu atoll. Due to the flight timings and as air taxi doesn't operate after 7.00 P.M, we had to spend the night at Male. This is when we selected this hotel. The hotel is good for a night's stay. The best part of the hotel is every room/suite has it's own living room and balcony. Nice view from the balcony. Breakfast was moderate. Overall for a stop over at Male this hotel is a good one but not for holiday.

Pleasant Stay at Mookai Suites”
While my stay at Mookai Suites was ok, I was a little unhappy that they did not provide shower caps in the bathrooms. This is such a common standard item in ALL hotels, even the cheapest ones. I did ask the front desk and they say they did not have shower caps. It rained heavily one morning and I requested to borrow an umbrella. The front desk staff said they did not have one?? Other than that, my stay was pleasant and the hotel was clean and well maintained.

Good hotel for a layover”
We stayed at the Mookai Suites twice, one layover on arriving to Maldives, the other on our way out. The rooms were fine and we enjoyed the living room when the second guest room was not filled. The restaurant food didn't sit well with our stomachs and the staff spoke very little english so were unable to help us find other dining options. Male is not a city you want to spend time in - its best to avoid a layover if possible. The gems of the Maldives are out in the other resort islands.

I'm on business trip to Maldives many times in the last 2 months and I always select this hotel due to the convenient location and hotel condition. Every facility in the hotel suit the business. You may need to pay for internet access but speed is fantastic, compare to the free internet in the hotel I stayed before is undoubtable. The services and staffs performance is wonderful and very friendly. They are always prompt for helps.

my stay was spacious, comfortable and without any serious shortcomings. the room and bathroom were clean and with basic amenities that one would normally expect from a hotel. outside of the room was a spacious lounge, kitchen and dining area shared with the neighboring room. both the lounge and separate bedoom were well lit by natural light. there is good internet access in the rooms via a reasonably priced paid subscription. the hotel is within easy walking distance of the port, customs, and bank of maldives. i would return to stay at this hotel in the future.

Stayed here before so knew what to expect. Nice and friendly staff who re-arranged my accommodation due to poor view of a brick wall and smoke smelling room. Large room does mean high price but to be expected in Male.

if only looking for transit point, it is better to stay in Mookai Hotel and or Kam hotel as the price is similar and the location is just 1 min walk from the ferry port. do not go for mookai suite!!

hi there,Male is a small town with terrible traffic due to motorcycles.if you're planing to stay in Male with cheap accomodation expenses and go beaches during day time,think twice.As it's very expensive to hire a boat-they've limited time service just between ,usually, from 9 am to at most 5 pm.it cost minimum 250 usd!so if you add hotel hotel daily rate onto this,it's almost equal to mid-grade resort rate.Resorts usually serve full board.it includes that breakfast,lunch and dinner.so it's better to stay in resort rather than staying a hotel in Male. for Mookai Suits,the locations is -although Male is a small town- not good.it's far away from good restaurants and airport transfer boat terminal.and our room's windows face to next building's walls.there is stove but they're not working.also my security box was out of service. also no need to arrange pick-up service from hotel.it's very easy and cheap to reach hotel:after getting out arrival hall walk for 5 minutes,get the boat to male(they're very frequent in every 10-15 minutes) for 1 usd.and then after 5 minutes travelling get a taxi to reach hotel for 3 usd.

The nicest facility for a business stay”
At last a really nice facility for an extended stay when on business in Male. Guest Rooms are comfortable and clean. Also the Suite facility worked well for conducting meetings.

Central and comfortable”
There are two bedrooms (good size, bright and clean) to each suite. Each bedroom locks and is accessed through a sitting room with fridge, cooking facilities and TV. The sitting room also locks. The bedroom also has a TV. There is wireless access which is not expensive, they sell by 24 or 48 hours which have to be used within 30days - not continuously. There is no breakfast but you can order room service from the restaurant on the ground floor. Staff friendly and helpful.
