Loved the view of passing boats, and the Islands in the bay”
My wife and I wanted a peaceful place and this was really good as it was low season, with few people. We stayed for 4 nights. The beaches were virtually empty - nice! Spacious room with panoramic view. Balcony was too narrow for a chair but that was ok. It is about 400 - 500m walk to the main marina terminal, and farther to the nice Sandy Bay restaurants so if you don't like walking use a taxi or rent a bicycle or motor scooter. There some cafes closer in the marina area. There are several areas of Tuan Chau Island that are unfinished, being developed, but this did not bother us. A GRAB taxi costs about $7.50 USD to the nearby mainland city - we went to Sunworld amusement park and had s great time. Breakfast was good except the coffee pot was too small and became empty quickly. I was hoping for a view of only the bay but actually a marina + bay view was more interesting. Large bathroom with an excellent shower. We enjoyed our stay at Moon Bay.

Awesome location and Impressive Customer Service”
We stayed here after we visit Halong Bay.. the location was fantastic! just beside Tuan Chau port and our room views the islands of Halong so relaxing and during the night we can see the fullmoon shining over the horizon of the bay and islands.. The staff can clearly communicate English and there once instance I left one important gadget at our room after we checked-out, when I came back to claim it the house keeping staff returned in just a few minutes very good service to both front desk and housekeeping.. highly recommended and will come back again. Thank You!

Really good choice”
This island on ha long bay area has a few hotels to choose but as a late decision we booked this and I was amazingly surprised. From the welcome to every inter action with the staff it was excellent. Views on one side of the harbour and the other side the magnificent bay. Good breakfast good showers. Good Wi-Fi comfortable bed and ultra clean. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our time. There is nothing at all about this hotel that we could complain about. The staff and facilities are top. If you don't mind walking 10 - 20 minutes, there are good places to go, such as Sandy Bay (good beach and cafes) and the ferry to Cat Ba Island. We took a Grab Taxi to the mainland and found SunWorld Amusement Park which was totally worth it, so lovely and fun. We stayed in October and expected huge crowds and rubbish/litter (as we were told) but in fact there were very few people (except for those going on harbour boats) and the entire area was clean. The bathroom was 5/5 star, really nice. Most people only are in Halong Bay for a few hours or not even a full day, but we decided to have a relaxing long stay and we are glad that we did so.

Relatively modern room and friendly staff”
The room is not dated, and the decor is relatively simple and decent, it has a balcony overlooking the pier where you’d depart from for cruise / ferry to Cat Ba island. Overall I’m pleased that it corresponds to the pictures (unlike many other properties in vietnam, photos and details can be misleading). The staff are friendly with great attitude.

Everything is good other than the location”
The harbour is currently developing. During the day, everyone is visiting halong bay, thus there is not much things to do. Depend on your purpose of staying, if you plan to visit halong bay. The hotel is at perfect location. If you plan to visit halong city, I would suggest to stay in halong city. As I am a budget traveller, to get to the city can be costly as here only have grab taxi. But the hotel is amazing, we get to stay in a room that face the sea and have a big balcony to catch the sunrise.

Excellent value for money if you like a room surrounded by great view”
The hotel is just right next to the harbor where they drop-off and pick-up Halong Bay Cruise Passengers. However, It is very far away from Halong City Centre . It costs around USD 6 per way to get to the city by Grab (Uber). If you want to get away from the crowds, and be surrounded by great view, then you can't go wrong with MoonBay Hotel.

near the harbour to depart to halong bay. room is big and clean. slightly smelly. the electrical socket seems got problem and almost electrocute us. stafff is attentive to attend immediately and change room for us. overall is good just the location is very inactive during night time.

Very average hotel but nice view”
The Good: view is beautiful. Reception Staffs are nice. The Bad: far away location. breakfast is terrible. only 2 service staffs for over 100 customers. nothing is available (coffee, sugar, milk, food are cold). The hotel is full of local Vietnamese and Chinese tourists. Kids are loud and running all over the hotel. Rooms are not properly insulated for noise. Would not recommend this hotel.
