Where to begin? We stayed at the Manor House for a wedding being held at the Morrell's Boutique Venue. We do not stay unreasonably far from the venue but thought we would stay over for the sake of convenience, what a mistake! Upon arrival we discovered that the intercom to get into the Manor House was broken so we had to phone to get in, no big deal. On check in we were advised that we would be escorted from the Manor House to the venue (which to be fair is just across the road) and from the venue back to the Manor House. However, when we were leaving the Manor House for the venue there was not a staff member in site (a sign of things to come) and we were forced to walk to the venue in the rain. Upon leaving the venue back to the Manor House later that night and despite informing the staff member on duty at the venue that were walking back to the Manor House, no staff member appeared to escort us back to the venue so we were again forced to walk.... I booked 2 special ladies into Morrells for a special birthday weekend. After paying in FULL on the Agoda website and receiving a booking CONFIRMATION , they were refused entry into their room because proof of payment was not shown. The more I insisted that payment had been made and that the booking form proved this, the more the staff insisted that they couldn’t check in. My husband was forced to join us, summons the manager/owner and eventually she verified payment and sorted it out. all was sorted. Very bad management to say the least .

very small and dirty rooms, 15 km outside JB-city”
Hotel rooms are very small (about 10-13 m2) and partly dirty. The Hotel Management is totally confused and want to rip their Hotel guests. For example: They offered me a free free shuttle Service to the Metro on my first day. But on the last day they want to charge me Money for this Service. But there are also two excellent things to Report: - excellent brekfast and a very friendly shuttle Service Driver.

It is very close to the city center but people said it is not very safe area in South Africa which is notoriously not safe country. However, if we can take care ourselves well, it's OK to stay in this hotel. The food is OK but not great. The rate is Ok but not the great value. The staffs are not very easy to understand what the customers want.

Der Charme dieses Boutiquehotels ist einzigartig. Man fühlt sich in eine vergangene Zeit zurückversetzt, man entdeckt überall kleine antike Details und Accesoires, die sich in ihrer Vielfalt zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis zusammenfügen. Lieder sollte die Aufbewahrung unseres Gepäcks für wenige Stunden einen hohen Preis kosten, weshalb wir uns umentschieden haben. Die Lage des Hotels ist etwas versteckt und vom internationalen Flughafen etwa eine Stunde Taxifahrt entfernt. Ein solches Hotel habe ich noch nicht erlebt und empfehle jedem diese Erfahrung zu machen, wenn sie in Johannesburg Zeit verbringen.
