    Very relaxing place!”

Beautiful surroundings, great food, friendly people

Although we were not impressed by the Subic area, Mountain Woods Inn is really worth the trip. It's located in an upscale residential area on a hill with beautiful views and surrounded by tropical forest. There's a regular and cheap jeepney service to the city, the ride takes 10-15 minutes. As some reviewers mentioned, the place needs some maintenance and the staff could be a bit more proactive, but those are minor issue. This hotel is ideal for a very relaxing stay that won't cost too much. The people are friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic! A highlight was watching a family of monkeys play by the pool. We would love to come back!

    Lovely forest view, friendly staff”

    good location

With some consideration for renovation , this hotel will be one of the best hotetls to stay at when in Subic. It is situated in a peaceful, secured, quiet location, away from the party area of Subic, at the same time, however, it is only 10 mins away from where the parties are. The view could've been awesome indeed, with a forest feel surroundings, but again, with some upgrade, everything will be perfect. The rooms are good but needs to be cleaned as it can smell old. Obviously, it is an old hotel but with its location, feel, and overall concept, a little upgrade can make this hotel superb. I must also say that the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. I can also say that the chef of this hotel is great. We availed the breakfast each morning of our stay in this hotel, and the food tasted great.

    A wonderful surprise”

Mountain Woods was a wonderful surprise for our family. It offers a nice view of the forest and the room we stayed in was large and clean. However, if you are finicky about service, this is not the place for you. The place is sadly under staffed and it takes a long time for them to process your requests. The food was great and the pool was a pleasant bonus. Overall, a great little place to just relax and unwind.

Great location and view, very quiet and peaceful, affordable

Stayed one night. Room are nice enough for the price. Average hotel services and food. The location is great if you're looking for a more peaceful retreat and the same time it's not that far from the main bay area where all the known restaurants are. Hotel is quite worn down, though. You could tell it's really old and sometimes feels a bit creepy :P but the staff there (at least the older lady there) was nice and accommodating.

Quiet place, friendly staff, close to town

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay in this hotel, its very quiet. the area is very cool because of trees in the neighborhood this made us enjoyed our morning walk, breakfast is great but with a limited selection. The hotel can be the best hotel in the area if they can polish the place and trim the garden and cleans it, it looks like a jungle

    quiet mountain forest hotel”

cool, quiet, fresh mountain and forest air. great for resting and relaxing.

the hotel is small and nice, beautiful view of the forest and mountains but the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel leaves much to be desired. the hotel no longer looks like when it was new. the garden surrounding the hotel is overgrown and unkempt.the management say they have no more gardener. I don't think it will take to much time to sweep the leaves that are all over and to trim the lush garden to make the place presentable and beautiful.the swimming pool is nice and clean.

    BAD BAD BAD!”

I stayed at Mountain Woods several times, the last being 2 years ago. I expected the same cleanliness, service, and quality of beddings. I was totally disappointed. The room had a terrible smell, sheets were old and blankets had a bad scent. I found out that the hotel was not operating for several months, and re-started with the mom taking over from the son. The hotel looked so shabby and needs a real major renovation and new sheets, towels, beddings and a good vacuuming. The owner was an elderly woman, and looked so stressed so I just brought out my concerns with their senior staff member. Food was overpriced for the quality and quantity they they offered. We checked out early, as it was really bad.

    horrible experience”

    location, forest view, quiet

horrible. upon arrival, we were told that there was only 1 room reserved for us instead of the 2 indicated by our 2 separate vouchers. the person in charge did not budge until one of her staff reminded her of a room that had been declined by another guest. after driving for 2 hours to get to the place, we did not expect to be told that we could not have the rooms that we reserved and paid for in advance. on our second morning, we were made to wait more than one hour for breakfast to be served. i was overheard by another guest when i told the staff that it was no longer funny that we had to wait so long. the other guest said they had the same experience the day before. hotel staff had asked us the night before for our breakfast orders so it was a surprise for us that the long wait could happen. when our breakfast finally arrived, we did not get the dishes that we ordered but we did not complain about that anymore as we were too hungry to wait some more.

    Bad experience”

The management should close down the hotel and give it a proper and complete make over! It is not safe for young kids as the stairs going down to the pool are not equipped with safety measures. Running a hotel with a receptionist, a cook, and 3 more staff who does multi-tasking is by far not enough to attend to the needs of a fully booked hotel with at least 2 occupants per room. It is not the fault of the staff but the management who turns a blind eye on this predicament. There is more to running a hotel than just earning profit out of it. Customers' satisfaction should still be the priority which will then entitle management to huge profit. I wouldn't dare waste good money after a hotel as bad and as antiquated as this. People who would want to book at this hotel should see the hotel first before making reservations. Internet connection is not only slow but non-existent when you're inside the room. Shame on you agoda people for allowing yourself to do business with this kind of people who owns the hotel.

Unpleasant stay - avoid! Poorest Customer Service ever!”

Staff Person in charge does not know customer service but instead wants to milk your money dry. 1. I have booked a stay and PAID in FULL yet person in charge claims that she needs my credit card since their office has not informed her of my paid stay. REALLY? Furthermore, her excuse was that their WIFI is down. Didn't the hotel have FREE WIFI? The funny thing is that if she waited for 30 minutes before asking me, she would've gotten an answer from the office. Quite Impatient. 2. Person in charge wanted to charge us CORKAGE FEE for inside the room drinking. We did not drink at their restaurant but inside the room which we PAID for. She wanted to charge this even WITHOUT informing us beforehand. OTHERS: Pool - very dirty, lots of insects, not maintained well Place- place is nice but poorly maintained, you cannot enjoy the whole place (just the view). Was not very clean. WIFI - it was down, so much for free wifi Breakfast Food - It was okay, nothing fancy. Room - Shower did not have ample heat capacity, there were lots of insects. Lack of power outlets.
