We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flower Garden. Deluxe cabana was fantastic and very comfortable indeed. Staff were good and the two pools were very nice and food not bad either. Good location - 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Recommend this place.

Nice hotel.”

Nice hotel in a great position not far from the beach. Didn't notice at the time but I think that I got charged for our free upgrade. Didn't have time to check this as we were heading to the train station.

Gets better each time ”

I’ve stayed here three times. There is an additional pool and more cabanas since last time and a group of us all had super delux cabanas next to each other. Beautifully done with nice decor. Bit unnecessary to have 4 person jacuzzis in some but quite enjoyed the disco lights in my smaller one. The service remains delightful from everyone there and you are always greeted with a smile.

Good facilities. We were upgraded to a penthouse suit. We did get locked in on 3 occasions, and had to ring the reception., as it was a different key to get to the staircase. This was a bit frustrating, as we had transport waiting to pick us up, and it usually took 10mins to find a key to let us out. I don't think it's a good idea to lock guests in, it may have been for security, but that would have been fine if it was explained, or we were supplied with a key.

The facilities and tranquil gardens were a perfect end to the holiday, so much so that we stayed 2 extra nights. The Cabanas were delightful and the a/c was excellent. The staff were top class and couldn't have been helpful. Not sure what star this is but it deserves more, highly recommended.

A Haven of Peace ”

A welcome escape from the traffic chaos on Unawatuna main street, this is a super hotel with excellent staff. Comfortable beds, excellent pools and very reasonably priced meals are the main strong points.

Nice hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the penthouse. It was really nice and the staff were very attentive. The penthouse was large and had a jacuzzi bath in it, that we didn’t use, but it was a nice touch. It was in easy walking distance of the beach and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants on the road walking down towards the beach. There’s a lot of greenery so we put lots of mosi repellent on! On our last night there we ate in the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint, salad or soup to start (included in price), I had steak, which melted in our mouth and my partner had chicken, which was delicious. Dessert was also included in the price and was small but tasted good. I would recommend.

Nothing more you ask for. Jacuzzi, air conditioning, TV, electric kettle and mini bar, - all at an awesome deal, thanks to Agoda. The hotel is perfectly build to meet all the amenities that a traveller needs. Dinner was amazing with free soup and dessert. Breakfast more than sufficient.

Delightful Hotel in a lovely setting”

All the staff were more than helpful, especially Asela in particular who really looked after us. Our twin room and en-suite were both very spacious and had the added benefit of mosquito nets round each bed. The gardens and swimming pools are really well maintained. The food was excellent, our favourite meal being the Sri Lankan fish curry. The hotel is located in a very peaceful setting and is only a 10 minute walk from the beautiful beach at Unawatuna.

I don't imagine the stay being much better. Nice pools, big room with a small hot tub in the bath room (we booked super deluxe, I believe?), good location, and good food too. I'd like to point out that the restaurant appears overpriced at first, but the price is for a course on most meals (soup + dessert included). In light of that and the generally high prices in Unawatuna, not bad. As other reviews mention, wifi won't reach your room. I got a Sri Lankan sim and hotspotted my phone. Only like $10 for a sim and 10GB data. A worthwhile investment if internet is essential to your life (as it is to mine)

Great pools”

Well worth it, good central location, fabulous pools and cute bungalows. Breakfast was cooked to order. Great wildlife around the hotel too, monkeys, birds, lizards etc made it fun. Gorgeous grounds.

Superb treatment for guests, we will be returning”

Following a disappointing stay at another hotel we came here early and had two weeks of great facilities, great food and excellent attention form all the staff. A well run and very friendly hotel in a very good location.

Unawatuna's best and friendliest”

We spent a week relaxing and resting after a busy previous week in India. Mr Sassi who manages the hotel was very attentive and his staff provided excellent service. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is very peaceful and it provides a perfect base for experiencing Unawatuna's great beach. We took a trip on the train to Matara and the railway station is less than 5 mins by tuk-tuk from the hotel. Galle fort was also within easy reach. Our cabana was clean, well air-conditioned and comfortable - all in all we had a great time.

I would definitely recommend it and will be going back again.the staff were really helpful. The food in the restaurant really good. I think they could improve the lunch menu but that is the only negative for me.

Tropical paradise”

Stayed in cabana with jacuzzi. Very nice and clean with a/c but a bit dark. Gardens of hotel lovely - lots of plants, flowers, wildlife. Pool large and very clean. Breakfast selection of fresh fruit very nice although had to pay supplement for bacon! Excellent location tucked away from noise of town but within walking distance of beaches and restaurants. Would definitely recommend hotel although bit worringly driver seemed to be falling asleep on airport pick up. Had to wake him up a few times!

A garden haven in a busy area with a 500m stroll past local street shops to a reasonable beach which was no amazing experience by Australian standards. Lots of Russian tourists here and the locals told us they are investing substantial capital. Some street signs are in Russian as well as Sinhalese and English.

We went during the peak season and when there were absolutely zero rooms in the area. I LOVE UNA concert was happening and I found the hotel last minute and they gave us a free upgrade upon arrival. The rooms were spectacular! Breakfast was delicious. And the Staff was the BEST! :) Best regards to the team from Shadi, Nicky & Dheeshan !! We will contact you in the near future when we are in Una again! You guys were the best!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff”

Stayed with my two children (13 & 15) in August 2013. After a week of travel we arrived, exhausted, at one of the two small street entrances to the hotel. First thoughts were uh-oh, this isn't what we expected. How wrong can you be. As we walked into the grounds a relaxing, tropical oasis opened-up. A lot of thought and detail has gone into landscaping, and there's plenty of visiting wildlife to keep children interested - birds, frogs, lizards, fruit bats and even the sound of monkeys squabbling nearby (which sometimes come into the grounds). Also has a clean, welcoming pool that's very well situated; can sit in the restaurant with a cold beer and keep your eye on the kids! Staff are smiling and friendly, and our meal on the last night (ate on beach other nights) was excellent. On top of all this, Sassi even provided an upgrade to the penthouse apartment! Overall a lovely, child-friendly hotel that's great value for money. Highly recommended and thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Relaxing, peacful”

A great little hotel hidden away. Nice relaxing pool and gardens. It's a short walk down to the beach (5mins) and Galle is easily reached in tuk-tuk. Good service from staff and enjoyed the chilled fruit a breakfast. Would stay again.
