The staff was remarkable the management was kind. However, I would never recommend it for 2. ”
The reception was wonderful the staff was bright and kind the hotel manager was efficient. However the rooms at the hotel are far too small for two people. I requested two single beds and received one bed with two mattresses. Unacceptable. What made up for the uncomfortable living situation was the remarkable staff they were each wonderful, accommodating & bright people.
Not the best stay I’ve had”
I have been to many hotels in Europe and the US but this hotel was the worst I’ve been to. First of all, there is little to compare from the picture to the reality- the rooms are tiny, when I first arrive the electricity was down, the air conditioning was not working even though it’s one of the amenities of the hotel. While I was waiting to go to the airport a foreign couple came to the receptionist saying they where guests the night before and when they came to the room at night the bed was soaking wet that they couldn’t sleep in and the hotel was fully booked so they didn’t had another room to stay so they left to another hotel. They wanted their money back and the receptionist wouldn’t give it back, didn’t talk to the manager and afterwards laughed at them with other employees. Would not recommend this hotel. Ever. Be warned.
Dissorganized and locked down.”
Doors lock and your trapped inside or OUT. Not a place for nightowls that like to come and go at all hours of the early AM. I went out one morning and couldn’t get back in. Had no place to go and my cell phone didn’t work in Paris. I wasn’t gonna take a chance and could have fun anymore. Rooms are also not all equal. My room was cramped and a friends was better laid out. He was able to walk around the bed and shower stall was twice the size. Coffee in lobby was not free and machine didn’t work for me most times. Checking out was a mess, they didn’t know we prepaid, locked us in and we missed our Uber. Uber charges us for missed ride.
Bad start ”
Booked double room via Agoda, room description was “Street View” “Shower and Tub” When got to my room it was facing a wall not a street, went back to reception and was told I should have requested a street view, I advised this was the standard description for the room, I was then given another room and again had to struggle with luggage through small corridors blocked with cleaners equipment to my new room which was not cleaned from previous occupant, again down to reception and was given yet another room, this only had a shower, no tub as advertised, I was in no mood to complain again and settled for this room. Very disappointing first impression. The hotel itself is in a good location with 3 Metro stops close by and rooms are an ok size, it did get noisy with slamming doors and not much soundproof from adjoining rooms.
Perfect location central in Paris”
The hotel Relais du Marais is located perfectly, very close to metro stations Republique and Temple. There are lots of good restaurants in the area and it is a good base for walking and shopping in the Marais neighborhood. We choose breakfast at the hotel - there is not a lot of tables, but the food is good for the money. Hint: If you arrive with a car, use the garage at 122 bis Rue de Temple. It is a 5 minute walk only, and when you checkout, the reception can register you. When you then are at the payment-box at the garage, call the attendant and explain you just checked out from this hotel. They will then give you half price on the garage (saving you around 22 euro per day).
Location is perfect. Close to all establishments such as restos, bar, Marais and the Metro. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Love this hotel !
if you are looking for a place just to sleep and shower, you can consider this hotel. other than that its a superb small room with basic facilities. there were two of us with two big luggages aned thats it we couldnt move around in the room. basic facilities of coffee tea making, safe deposit , hairdryer and fridge are provided. iron u need to get from the reception and the day we wanted to use we were told that another guest have taken it n yet to return it. so if need to iron please ask them early for the iron as there is only one. didnt try the breakfast. and we visited paris during autumn and being an asian the temperature was warm for us. the air cond in the room was warm ae well eventhough we kept it at the minimum temperature. we had to open the window and sleep in the noisy room. overall u can consider this hotel only if you need a place to shower and sleep. close to temple and republique station
The front desk people are great, the breakfast room had a variety of choice, right next to metro subway system. Go to grocery store behind hotel to buy water, fruit snacks as hotel has no vending machines. Ordered a taxi for 9:30 am but never showed, front desk guy tried everything he could and other employee was really helpful an nice in walking with me to try and get one. Beds were okay but hey you are in Paris so no need to spend lots of time in your room.
good location, very close to metro station. nice neighborhood, clean and quite at night
Good value nice location”
Everyone says the stairs and check in are a big deal...I say get over that! Your stay at a castle on an island that been around since 8 AD ....if that isn't enough you shouldn't go!
Compact room; great location”
The room was small but clean and tidy. The location was excellent with just a short walk to Republique and Temple Metro stations. Good selection of bars, restaurants and shopping nearby. Only slight disappointment was that our room was not ready even though we arrived after check-in time.
Nice place to stay
The bathroom is beautiful, Reasonable Price, and easy to find! Walk around 5-8 mins have supermarket, And Hotel have shuttle bus go to airport, it's good and suitable!
thays certainly not the place to be ”
Very cozy little hotel”
We (my 12 yrs old son and I) stayed at La Relais de Marais for 3 days Nov 12-15. The hotel is very conveniently located, very clean and the staff is very nice. Yes the room was small but cozy and very clean. The restaurant was closed for renovations but there are so many places to eat in the area that i am pretty sure we wouldn't have used it anyway. I will stay there again and I will recommend the hotel to my friends.
Love it! Would stay there again in a heart beat”
Pleasant stay in a modern hotel”
Pleasant staff who were happy to have us check in early and check out late (and store our bags for a day). The location is very close to La Republique so easy to get to the airport and it is near the Temple metro stop for other travel. Also very close to a MonoPrix which is a cheap and large supermarket (with excellent truffle cheese). Will stay here again next time.
Good Location - Sub-Standard Accomodation”
Hotel was being refurbished however they had not given any prior notice or warning of this fact. Lift was not working so had to drag baggage up 3 flights of stairs. Stair carpet had been covered and taped-down to presumably avoid paint damage but made walking up and down dangerous. The room was supposed to be a twin room but was unbelievably small even by Paris standards. The room could only accommodate two twin beds by positioning the beds together thus forming a double - which was not really the point of booking separate twin beds!
Well located hotel close Metro”
Impressed with the friendliness of front desk staff. Close to Metro: Temple Station. Easily accessible to other parts of Paris.
ok for a night stay I guess”
Stayed there for a night, needed a bed and shower. Those I got. Shower was clean, bed was ok comfy. Room size was good for Paris. Furniture, decor, unappealing. You do get wifi access. Location, 10m away from a metro station, 20m away from Republique but not much appealing there. 18-20 metres walk to the river but you can hire a bike from Republique. The walls are what I disliked. Not sure if they were made of cardboard. I heard people going through the lift, bags through the corridor and people getting in and out of the room. Room would be the worse room as it was next to the dining area for breakfast, which made the morning unpleasant. I heard knives and folks clanging, people organising their daily plans, the kitchen phone going off every 5 minutes, people getting in and out of the lift. A horrid experience, did not return when my flight schedule had a problem. Staff a polite, they should perhaps work towards asking for some evidence when you are staying there when asking for a key. Door needs to be locked by using the key, it doesn't lock when you close it behind you from either end.
