Wonderful place for travellers”
The owner and team were very welcoming and inviting, lots going on always if you want to meet people. Bike tours, going out for food and loads of information and smiles available at every corner. We enjoyed the atomsphere and the rooftop was awsome.
Had a great time during my stay at Ringo’s Foyer. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Howard the ower is very generous and sociable. He gave everyone a red envolope containing 2RM (for good luck) in celebration for the Chinese New Years. Would stay there again!
Room was very nice and it is exactly what it says on the tin. Breakfast was lovely and nice to start the day off with. Staff are very friendly with a mass of volunteers helping out to keep the place clean. Wifi wasn't the best though so would suggest finding a coffee shop or something to do work. All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a Backpacker vibe to their trip.
Nice staff ”
Location is ok
Welcoming, comfortable, and social!”
Everything was great, the breakfast was delicious. Howard is a great host. Will return!!
Definitely will be back ”
Had an amazing guest experience here, most of it because of the hostel owner, Howard and the friendly staff helping out. I also took a bike tour with the hostel, which was a unique but recommended experience. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in Malacca!
Good vibe and helpfully staff”
Very good communal areas. Staff is nice and they give you very good advice. Very interesting bicycle ride around the city. We sleep in good mattress but others are a bit old (One of the very few things for improving)
Friendly, welcoming, clean and well managed”
Excellent place to stay. Just outside the hub and buzz of china town, so about a 3 minute walk to Jonker Street, and in the other direction, to the beautiful riverside walk. Howard will show you around the guest house, introduce you to guests, make you feel very welcome. There are bikes to rent and a beautiful rooftop hang out area. Howard's friendly and professional personality makes everyone feel comfortable and promotes a great opportunity for travellers to meet and hang out. Its not a loud party place at all. Very chilled.
Cheap and Comfortable”
Ringo's Foyer is located right in the middle of Malacca City. Most of the attractions in Malacca are located just a stone's throw away. The owner of this establishment, Howard, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. After checking out, we were still allowed to use the bathroom for a shower before catching our bus out of Malacca. The room and other facilities were surprisingly good for the very low price we paid. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling on a budget.
Quiet backpackers' guest house a short walk from Jonker Street”
The location is a 5-10 minute walk from Jonker Street. It's a very short walk to the Malacca River where you can find some nice spots to have breakfast. I was disappointed with the bed in the private room. But I noticed the dorm area seemed bright and better. Probably ideal for true blue backpackers who just need a bed in a dorm setting and some nice areas to lounge around like near reception, the living area, and the roof deck. The staff were very nice.
Amazing experience in Ringo's”
This is my first time staying in a Hostel. I did not expect Ringo's to be so amazing! Place is clean, serve breakfast and coffee, you can walk 5 min to the main attraction of Malacca which is Jonker street. I had an incredibly amazing experience while staying in Ringo's!! Highly Recommend to all travelers.
Unexpected surprise ”
Thank you Howard and volunteer staffs for the really nice stay. Despite only being in the hostel only early in the morning and late at night due to our tournament, the time spent interacting with you guys were great. Thank you for the great breakfast as well! (p.s. It's NOT just bread and jam like what other travellers said hahaha we had things like prata, egg, pancakes, etc) Definitely recommended and would go back next time!
It was really good experiences”
Somebody can feel a bit uncomfortable for this hostel but it is really good for traveling and if you prefer fancy and cozy places like 5 stars hotel, I can recommned to go other places. But, for others yeah I strongly recommend here
The guest house was still under renovation when my friend and I were there. The staff got us a room at another guest house called Discovery which was not bad. Looking forward to staying at newly renovated Ringo next time.
Budget Inn ”
Convenient to walk to Jonker Street and the night market (abt 5 mins walk). Located off Jalan Tokong with its temple and mosque in the same street. Was given an upgrade of room to a double air-conditioned one - best part of the stay. Simple breakfast of bread and coffee comes with the room booking. Don't expect any frills as this is a budget guesthouse with the common bathrooms located at the far end of each floor. Bathroom was a little run-down and the flush system does not work all the time. No toiletries provided, so bring your own. Good for travellers who are on a budget and only needs a bed to sleep at night, as the room fulfils the criteria of location and low cost.
Met an American Chinese stuff there. That young boy seemed quite interested in China and Chinese. It was very nice talking to him during my stay, dont know whether he could see my comment or not. Really hope that he could come to China and see how China is different from the one in his mind.
Welcome at home”
Absolute number one Hostel owner Howard does everything possible to make your stay Perfect. It is a very Social Place-be ready to be introduced to the other guest, have common BBQ or bicycle tours. Absolutely awesome!
Stayed there for only 1 night, when the owner Howard was giving us a tour, another guest came down and Howard introduced us, even his nationality, this shows Howard is a very detailed person because he did the effort to remember everyone's name and nationality. The house isn't super big, and super clean like hotels, but it has a warm feeling, make you feel like you're in home. The location is superb, Chinese restaurants downstairs, only couple minutes of walk to Jonker street. Rooftop is worth to check out, a nice place to hang out. Overall it's a nice stay, I will definitely come back to this house if I'm visiting Melacca again.
I have difficulty in finding the place but after one day I am familiar with the place and it's not really bad located, near Jonker street. I was received well and met different people there, of course, a great friend!!!!
