hotel vieillot sale puant, il y a 2 types de chambres les vieilles sale et puante et les nouvelles!!! jai eu la surprise davoir une vieille chambre je pense que cela depend du prix, je me suis fait piquer par des punaise de lit en lespace d1 heure par une cinquantaine!!!! heureusement le directeur ma changer de chambre pour une nouvelle apres qui est vu mes tres gros bouton
My stay at the Ritz”
i was very disappointing with the poor condition of the rooms as they are very very old and not upgraded, The bathroom was even worse, no shower doors, just a curtain, the shower handle was broken and leaking and the towels did not smell good. the bed is old and also terrible pillows. the linen is old and smells bad too. overall i was not happy
Good location ”
My family stayed here for one week on holidays. It was just a walking distance to grocery shopping centres and restaurants in Sea Point. I cost about 40-50 Rands to go to Waterfront by taxi. My small kids enjoyed at a seaside park in Sea Point very much.
Great view(ocean and mountain) from my room”
What I like most of Ritz Hotel is that I have a half ocean half mountain view from my room. I could watch sunrise from my room. The hotel is close to the beach (5 minutes walk). I could watch sunset there also. There is a moving restaurant on the 21st floor, you will have a panoramic view of Sea Point if you dine there. The hotel staff are very nice. There is a travel information desk in the hotel, which provides a good service. It has been a wonderful experience in Cape Town. Loved it!
Feeling like being in a construction site”
There is a constant mechanical noise which made me have to use my ear plugs at night. The door handles are broken, the room is small and the design is not customer friendly. The drawer cannot close properly and can be safety hazard. The lifts look under construction too. Best is the male staff at the bar and the female staff at the kitchen. They are nice. The view out of Windows is great.
The rooms & passages felt like a hospital. The prices are not worth paying. To park there overnight and pay was annoying, they should at least let you park for free to oversee the crappy rooms they have. The cups & saucers in the room are the tiny hospital type. I was too embarrest to take a photo in the room our friends would have really mocked me, paying so much to stay in hospital. I will not recommend it to anybody jik
One night stay”
The room we were first booked into smelled like vomit. We asked to be moved and they did give us another room but in the new room the windows did not open, the aircon was not working so it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. The interior of the rooms is extremely old and and the hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment.
restaurant bad manners”
The worse part was trying to get a table in the restaurant when I went up there at 8.30 pm and they said that they were full even though there was a lot of empty tables . I told them to call me before 9.30 if one became available and they did not call when I went back up even more tables were empty and really the staff were just being lazy.
Nothing but the view to write home about”
A comfortable stay although mostly a disappointing experience. Walked into renovations on arrival, which is probably just what the premises needs. Was allocated a room very close to noise generated by the facilities air-con units, only to be reallocated a room next to the lifts! It did however have a fabulous view of the bay, particularly at sun rise. The room could have done with at least one more drape of block-out curtains to keep the light pollution to a minimum. The rest of the room appointment, although sufficient, did not match the advertising.
Quite Dissapointed, Really Expected more”
Staff was very friendly and the Reception very welcoming and that was where it stopped. Rooms were really overpriced and old. House Keeping was a huge problem. We also had torn and dirty stained curtains in our room.
The Ritz room was very dirty with cockroaches”
The stay at the hotel was very bad. We booked for two nights. On Monday 31 March 2015 we left the room early around 09h00. Coming back tired at 17h00 the room was not cleaned then complained with the manager Mr Martin about the dirty room. He did not take the matter serious. He just contacted one lady to go clean the room at that time. This hotel is bad. They do not treat their guests with respect. The room where we stayed the carpet was dirty with very bad smell, toilet did not flush well, had cockroaches and linen was not changed when they cleaned the room. Don't be fooled by the rating. They do not deserve 3 star. I regret booking the hotel and will never ever book this dirty smelling hotel.
The location is good, but facilities were old.”
The facilities were old. For instance, the bathtub had a short shower curtain and that caused the water sprayed all over the bathroom floor and some of our items we kept there. The telephone line was not working so we had to come down to the lobby to explain problems in the room at late night. The breakfast was good, but the price is a bit expensive and we wish they would price 1/2 for children, at least.

Awful from start to finish. Noisy with drunks when we arrived. No TV working. No telephone directory, even at Reception. No back up power during load shedding...and your room is on the 29th floor! No inverter to run the computer system when power is off...so can't even print your invoice? Place is a joke.
Very good location”
I enjoyed my stay at the Ritz. The staff are very friendly and Helpful. I thought I got excellent value for money with the Location of the Hotel. My room was medium size a bit worn TV was old, but the room was clean. The Hotel is refurbishing at the moment and it will be better in the future. I would stay again.
In need of an upgrade!”
The hotel and its rooms are in need of a major re-vamp. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and my aircon didn't work for both of those nights. The sink in the bathroom had a large crack in it and there was a general uncleanliness about the room. I won't stay there again.
Jaw droppingly bad”
Had it not been for the fact that this booking was on short notice and everything else was booked, I would have demanded my money back and spent it elsewhere. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, they acted like they were doing you a favour by assisting you. The hotel was dilapidated and smelly in place,paint peeling and doors damaged. I really was appalled, I would never recommend this place!!!

When I booked in, I've asked for a decent, clean room, but got a small corner room, no hairdryer, old towels. I asked for a bigger room and it made me wonder why I got this very small room in the first place, while a bigger room was available. Plugs in bathroom not sealing properly, while water gets waisted. The black tiling in the bathrooms is very depressing and makes the bathroom even looking smaller.

Not recommended for business travel. No hair dryer available in room. Fairly noisy at night with people coming and going (4am doors in passage started). Old established hotel - so lift shaft fairly noisy which was heard from my room. The room however was clean. Pity about the choice taken over the years of reducing the natural light with the window tinting. Not aesthetically pleasing. Good value for money for family visits I would imagine. Staff very friendly.
