Fantastic views, but restaurant closes early”
We did the Hooker Valley Hike and checked-in at roughly 7pm+. Restaurant was closed by the time we arrived, and could only order some finger food. However, view in the morning is nothing short of spectacular.
Room was clean and good for group but there no free wifi provided.
Good stay in the mountains”
Great location if you intend to spend the night at Mt Cook and waking up to the lovely views of the mountain. We got a level unit which had plants right infront of the living room's window, and car parked right outside our bedroom's window. Thus there was not much of a view. Kitchen was ok. Could have been cleaner, but decent enough if you want to cook in it.
Room with Great View”
Stayed 2 nights in the motel, which contains all we need include kitchen utensils. We got a corner unit with a great Mt Cook View and we are really happy with it. It’s a refurbished unit and furnitures are new. The aircon comes with cool air to cool the room during afternoon, and warm enough to keep us comfy at night. The only improvement I can think of is the mattress which is a little soft to our likings.. besides that everything was awesome !
Cute, rustic accommodation right int he foot of Aoraki-Mt Cook”
Lovely accommodation right at the foothills of Mt Aoraki-Cook. We stayed in the motel unit and this is the true motel where the car to the door was barely 2 metres. The unit was decorations was lovely and each unit has a nice little garden. The foot at Chamois was affordable and delicious. We start some of our activities from the Hermitage and felt that the the motel side was far nicer and homelier than the Hermitage.
Patio with a view. ”
Located in Mt Cook Village, convenient for visiting Hooker Valley, Sealy Tarns, etc. Room is clean and comfortable with sufficient heating. Dinner at Chamois is decent. There is also a communal kitchen if you prefer to cook. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
Lovely staffs and great accommodation”
Mt Cook Lodge has staffs from different countries and all of them are sweet. The entire place is clean and the restaurant serves delicious food. They provide shuttle bus to the starting point of hiking tracks, but it's probably only available to group visitors and the elder
The view at the back of our motel was gorgeous. However the heater can only be turned on for a short period of time, which was quite a pain when the weather was cold. Receptionist was not very friendly, however the housekeeping staff were helpful.
Beautiful Mountain View”
The hotel was comfortable and cozy. The view from the room is just amazing.
Beautiful view out of the window, the room is clean and modern except the kitchen which is a bit out dated but we mostly ate at the cafeteria onsite which offered great food and a view of the mountains. It is in the perfect location where you walk to the trails. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will recommend to anyone.
Everything almost perfect except receptionists.”
once we arrived to the hotel at check in time, receptionists told us the room was not ready yet, they asked us to waited at the hotel lobby and will let us know when they are ready. we wait almost 1 hr. and nobody care until we had to asked them again for the room. Acttually if we checked in faster we could made the short walked around the area and the next day was rained. when we got in the room we found 4 beds (we are a couple and noted in the booking confimation) that mislead to understand someone else will share the room with us. Anyway we lost the space in the living room for the bed we don't need.
Pros: Beautiful mountain views from the patio. Comfy bed. Mount cook is simply a wonderful place to be in. Cons: personally felt it is rather too pricey for a normal room like this. Heater was turned on to the max, but the heat was pretty low to keep the room warm enough.
it was nicely located right in front of mount cook. The view was extremely gorgeous. The room is spacious and can fit 4 pax at a time. No breakfast provided . however you can have breakfast at the cafe while enjoying the view. I would definitely come back to this hotel.
The room was fantastic”
We opt at the family apartment. Fits comfortably my family of five. A good stop after our walk at Hooker Valley. The room was very clean. Bathroom was clean and heated. We got the room next to the laundry area which was very convenient to us.
Wifi is extra charge”
It says have WiFi but it comes with an extra charge. it's motel rooms converted to dorm rooms so electrical outlets not so convenient. got a free shuttle to Hermitage is a nice plus. communal kitchen large and clean.
Good location with beautiful surrounding area”
We were pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of studio suite. Our room was also next to the laundry room which was helpful for us after a long travel. The room is fully equipped with kitchenette, ironing board and iron. The restaurant at the main building also serves good food in case you didn't come prepared with enough food for when the weather is bad and you are stuck in the hotel because you have your outing cancelled like ours after non stop rain and snow.
So far the best stay ever. Our accomodation is with terrace facing the beautiful mountains covered with anow caps. Weather is perfect with clear blue sky. Stunning view. Wished we stayed longer. Definitely we’ll be back.
Location, Location and Location”
Love the location of this hotel, the view is scenic, the room is big and comfortable. however, our unit is not located in the hotel main building, it is located at the back of the hotel main building, and the entrance to the room is not accessible through the main building and the entrance is not easy to locate too.
Clean and well furnished ”
My husband and I spent 2 nights here and stayed in a studio motel room. It came with a lovely view and was adequately furnished with a kitchenette. Our room was cleaned daily and the bed was comfortable. Food outlets in the village were expensive so we chose to prepare our own meals in the motel. Do note that if you wish to do that, you should pick up supplies from Twizel/Lake Tekapo before heading towards the mountain. The convenience store in the village is not well stocked.
Value for money”
Fully equip. Only thing missing was wifi. A bit far but most guests were driving so no issue.
