Great hosts, great value!”

First this is a hostel ok. The value for the money was great my room was clean the whole place was clean. Washer/dry red on site plenty of games to play. And the kicker, your host owns an American Reasturant/ bar right downstairs. With lots of local flair. The hostel has tons of info about the area so great job. I’ll stay again when I’m in the area.

Fantastic Hostel!”

This is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at in Japan, and this is my third time in the country and I've stayed at over 30 hostels. The guesthouse itself is cozy, comfortable but not cramped like many other places. There's free tea and coffee, fridge, microwave, oven etc. and laundry + drying only costs ¥300 (plus detergeant). Michael, the manager, also runs a great bar downstairs and serves a wide variety of western foods (e.g. burgers, pizza). There's also a great Japanese restaurant just opposite the hostel with an English menu. All the staff here speak good English and will help you with whatever you need. The balcony attached to the side of the guesthouse also gives you a great view of Mt. Fuji which is always nice to see when you wake up. My only complaint would be that the power plugs are a bit awkwardly positioned, like on the floor and at the side of the door. And if you're using an universla power plug chances are it won't fit on the floor adaptors.

Michael Saved My Life”

Winter. I came to climb Mt Fuji. How difficult could it be? It's a gradual slope and even senior citizens are strolling on Fuji's incline from one snack shop to the next. But there's a climbing season. People are advised to not climb Fuji outside of summer. If you do, Michael wanted me to sign a release form which would allow him to go thru my things in case of my death. Since my backpack is filled with Adult Toys which I didnt want him & his Filipino staff to see, I decided to not climb it. Thanks, Michael, you might have saved my life. 1. Strong WiFi. 2. Lots of hot water & good water PRESSURE. 3. Bunks have curtains & lamps but no elec sockets. 4. Soap, shampoo, conditioner (i'm bald). 5. Tea & coffee. I stayed at 3 hostels in Fuji Yoshida. See what I think of all of them

Stay at the foot town of Mt. Fuji.”

If you are looking to hike the Mt. Fuji (was there in peak season), this place is good to stay as it was the only "cheap" place for traveler. There's no kitchen (out of microwave-oven & kettle) It is fine if you just plan to hike up and down and don't want to stay around for a week. I would recommend this place in that case but not for a long stay as the rooms are a bit overcrowded in my opinion.

Align at Gekkoji station, 3 stations away from Kawaguchiko and walk bout 5mins from there. Quite neighbourhood. Rent a bicycle from the hotel and had a great time cycling around town, mt. Fuji was very clear and it' a good 15mins exercise to churito pagoda. Good location close to nightlife”

Good location a few hundred metres walk from station & 7/11. The Japanese style rooms are large as the beds fold up (they are still comfortable) so there is a bit of space to move around. There’s no real space to make food but there is a toaster & a kettle provided. There’s also not much relaxing space except for a smokers balcony with half a dozen chairs and a couple chairs inside but all of this is right outside the dorm door. There is however a pub owned by Michael downstairs which is open most nights. Michael and the pub staff are friendly but I wouldn’t say the same about the hostel reception staff. Good location if you want to go boozing as there’s heaps of side-alleys very close by with small bars & food places. I would stay here again.

The best place to stay in Mt. Fuji area. ”

(1) Comfortable and a very pleasant room. (2) Very informative and friendly staff. (3) Good location for relaxing

Best place to stay in Mt. Fuji area. The staff were very helpful with surroundings information and very friendly. The room was absolutely clean and comfortable. It was a very pleasant stay. And the best thing is the owner, Michael, whom we met at his bar just down below the hostel. Trust me, this hostel got everything from comfy stay to good drinks! Just ask the owner of the best place to see Mt. Fuji and the town and he will gladly show you the place with his own drawings. Thank you Michael!

Recommend to anyone visiting Fuji”

Helpful staffs, Nice and clean room, close to transport

I had a very pleasant stay with this hostel. It was a stop over for me, as i would hike mt Fuji the next morning from station no.1. Meet Michael, the owner, and his wife. They are both warm-heartedly provided a lot of useful advice, no matter relating to mountain environment or trip planning information. Especially I arrived super late at around 12 midnight but they were still there and helped providing useful information; besides, the hostel was very well kept. I slept in a japanese style single room which was very comfortable. there were other shared bedroom too, which were also kept tidy and clean. I'd call it a five-star hostel with very good service and comfortable environment. If I visit the area I would not hesitate to stay in this hostel again.

Great place to stay”

Location, staff, facilities.

I had a really pleasant stay here. The hostel is not too far away from Fuji-san station. Kazuko and her staff were really friendly and helpful. My plans changed because of the typhoon, so I couldn't eventually spend the night at the hotel, but they allowed me to check in earlier and take a nap before I climbed Mt. Fuji later that night. They offer great basic facilities and Michael managed to promptly sort out the internet and wifi problems. I wish I could've spend more time here.
