Fantastic!”
Had a great time staying here, rooms were lovely, spacious and very clean. Staff were excellent and very accommodating, letting us check out late as our flight time was changed to the evening. Concierge helped with booking day trips and activities. Would highly recommend staying here.

Hidden paradise”
How nice that you can be tucked away and truly never need to leave where you are vacationing-that’s Muang Samui! The gardening, ponds, and pool are stunning and truly feel a part of the landscape. The hotel was immaculate. The restaurant never disappointed, especially the amazing staff with their smiles and kindness! Our meals were fresh, delicious, and visually appealing! So happy we chose your resort!

Long-Time Favorite in Chaweng”
We have a 20+ year relationship with the Muang Samui; having spent a number of holidays there. We love the location on Chaweng Beach with close proximity to many restaurants and a short distance from the airport. The decor of the rooms is Thai style and different from some of the newer, sleeker (and soulless) hotels. The gardens are nice to walk through and the pool very nice. The staff are friendly and try to please. Like many other hotels in Thailand, the Muang Samui is working to recover from the pandemic and a two-year closure, so there were a few glitches/issues during our stay this time. However, the management were responsive and helpful in sorting these issues out. We will always return to stay at the Muang Samui!

Nice beach to stay an relax”
I enjoyed the beach and the area but the hotel itself should be renovated. I understand that the covid pandemie has affected the whole facility. But for the price i paid i expect more. The breakfast was no buffet anymore and wasn’t the same quality as it used to be back in 2017. The stuff is very friendly and they givr their best but they are understaffed. So all in all i can’t recommend to stay there for the same price i paid. It is not a 5 star Hotel anymore

Excellent”
The basic rooms so spacious and comfortable my kids usually hate hotel rooms but it was so big with a balcony they loved it. The only thing was mosquitoes! So many all over Koh Samui my babies got bitten left and right even with repellant on! Pool water was cold, beach was cold. Breakfast was ok. But loved the beach view and hotel overall. I love how they set up my daughters bed on the day bed. She loved it and slept there so peacefully!

Hotel uncared during COVID”
Actually a nice hotel but hotel was obviously neglected during covid. ( Pool not clean, Green Area not done , Gym Dirty)

Not ready for reopening”
The hotel needs lots of TLC especially to claim 5 star rating. Grounds are overgrown, in need of serious maintenance and cleaning. Exercise room difficult to access and yoga mats were gross. Room was nice and clean but the resort is understaffed and needs reinvestment. Existing staff friendly. Wi-fi poor, tv selection poor. Many other better places to stay until this resort regains its mojo.

S Last Room Agoda”
As usual, with Agoda, they claim it was a last room. Showed up and the rooms smelled so bad. We had to move and left one night early. Also almost nobody in the hotel. Last time for Agoda. for me.

One of the best hotels in Chaweng”
I visited Koh Samui in early January 2013 and had a fantastic stay at Muang Samui. It's located right on Chaweng beach so it is a short walk to all the activity. I find the northern part of Chaweng beach where Muang is located to be the best part - a little quieter but still only 300m or so from Ark Bar and other places, so you get the proximity without the noise. The beach is protected by a reef, so the waves aren't so big. On this trip I also stayed at Chaweng Regent Hotel, which was also nice and located right next to Muang. I liked Muang better because a) the rooms were much bigger and more beautifully appointed and b) the internet was faster and more reliable, and c) I felt it was a better value over all. You can't really go wrong with either hotel though, and the Regent has a nice gym. When you arrive at Muang, the staff give you a warm welcome, with some tea, a flower bracelet, and a refreshing aromatic hand towel. They all seemed cheerful and genuine. One woman named "Dear" was particularly helpful, professional, and friendly. She gave me some advice about things to do and helped me to arrange a Thai cooking class at Sitca. One other activity that was really fun was "soccer golf". This is located just outside of Chaweng and is big golf course but instead of clubs and small balls, you kick a soccer ball into large holes. Super fun, and you don't really need to be good at golf or soccer to have a great time. All in all it was a great trip and I enjoyed my Muang Samui Spa stay very much. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful resort”
Muang Samui Spa resort was fantastic - beatiful room with balcony and jacuzzi was really nice. Besides, we've got complimetnary dinner and spa package for hotel's restaurant and spa for two of us. Also they bring us one day a complimentary bottle of wine and another - a cake for honeymooners. The breakfast was very good and has changed every day. The hotel is close to everything in Chaweng - nice restaurants located on the beach. One day we took a car and saw all the island by ourselwes. Higly recommended. Don't like the beach itself - a lot of people selling things - i thing hotel can do smth to protect it's guest from that. And the sea in not so nice - not deep, with seaweeds and stoned. So it's hard to swim, but you can ask for free kayak. Also at the swimming pool if you want to order a drink you have to go to the bar - no waiter is looking if you need smth. But I think it's one of the best hotels on Chaweng.

Simply perfect”
We stayed in Muang Samui for 10 days and had unforgettable holidays. For the first day of stay we were upgraded to Royal Suite with a sea view! Located on the top third floor it has outside spa bath and a relaxation spot with the great views. Junior Suite was also great. Same room but with the direct access to the garden (we stayed on the first floor). Room is very big, clean and new. Whenever you request to make up your room, it is done very fast. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Breakfast is good. For the dinner we rarely went outside: beach restaurant is probably the best on the Chaweng beach and with a reasonable prices. Restaurant located right behind the hotel offers nice selection of Asian cuisine. Pool is great. It is very clean and big enough, and it has its own small waterfall and bubbled area. See view is great (reserve a line in the morning - it is very popular). However, if you want to swim in the sea, you need to walk 10 minutes to the south of Chaweng beach (unless it gets deep enough). Lots of entertainment on the beach (jetsky/scooters 10 minutes away, sailing, kayaking, volleyball). We did snorkeling on the nearby rife. You can rent a kayak or boat for going there, it is quite cheap. Spa center in the hotel (Rai Ra Spa) is outstanding. And one should also try massage on the beach. P.S. We'd been traveling with our 9 months kid. Hotel provided very nice baby cot for him. And it was quiet at night in the room in spite of quite noisy neighboring hotel. He could swim in the sea in front of the hotel (very warm and not deep) and in the swimming pool. In the restaurant, you can get nice feeding chair for your child.

Song Kran at Muang Samui”
Almost perfect resort for couples or Samui 1st-timers. Location is one of the most important variables for visitors, especially for venue like Samui which promise to offer relaxation and perfect escape. Muang Samui is located at the heart of Chaweng - right at the junction of main streets. Exceptional convenience for travellers with rented vehicles. All rooms are spacious with appropriate settings, from color to texture. The Royal suite is phenomenal. Our block is located close to the main entrance but far from the pool and the beach, which are the integral parts of visiting Samui. In general their staffs are helpful but not all of them. Very good are those at the entrance, whom help me to move my bike when they are blocked, even help me to return my bike to the bike company (and get my passport back of course!) since Songkran fever is overwhelming - a big happy surprise!! However service on the beach is not at their best. As a return customer of their resort, I expect the same, if not better, level of service compare to the last visit few years before. They can do better definitely. Breakfast is under par as well - boring and very limited choices. Great beach.

Just What we Were Looking For”
We wanted somewhere that was close to the nightlife of Chaweng , on the beach yet still offered a retreat from the hustle and bustle, and we found it at Muang Samui. The room we had was a Junior Poolside Suite and it was perfect for our needs, particuarly as it was on the first floor. We possibly wouldn't have liked the ground floor so much as it would have not been quite so private with people walking by. The resort is quite bijou but this is not apparent due to pleanty of greenery shielding the buildings from one another, and once inside, the rooms themselves are extremely spacious and the thai wood decor is executed perfectly. The breakfast is in the seafront restaurant and a couple of steps further on is their own residents beach with sunloungers. Again, although limited in size it did not present a problem during our visit and I noted other hotels with less "depth" of beach available. One particular highlight was the seafood restaurant over the road owned by the hotel (and can be charged to your room) - best in town. The spa facilities were great, if a little pricey, although we loved the double bath, steam , massage for couples. My one gripe was the continued attempts to charge for minor "extras" such as the safey deposit bix in the room. I cannot remember the last time I was asked to pay for a safety deposit box in the room and most hotels offer free internet. Apart from that everything else was superb and we are glad we chose this resort.

I'll be back!!!”
As I first time to Samui, Muang Samui Spa Resort Samui give me amazing honeymoon trip. Unluckily, I cannot go to Bangkok due to the Bangkok crisis on Nov, I need to prolong stay in Samui in my trip, and the staff of SMSS Resort are very helpful, they help me to contact the airline and looking for flight booking, and offer the special price for me to stay in the resort. Muang Samui Spa Resort Samui, I'll be back!!!

The best resort hotel I have ever stayed in!”
This was our second time in two years we stayed at the Muang Samui. There is simply no better place for people of any age. It has everything. The best rooms overlook the pool which is perfect. This hotel really is on the beach. Five steps from a pool room into the pool. 5 steps from the end of the pool onto the beach! The atmosphere on the beach is electric both day and night. At night the beach transforms into miles of restaurants on the sand - yes you can have your dinner on the beach with your toes in the sand! The front of the hotel is on Chaweng Beach Road which is busy with lots of shops, restaurants and markets. Everything is easy to get to and open-air taxi trucks provide a cheap (50 baht per passenger one-way) to get around. There are two Muay Thai Boxing stadiums - we went to the opening night fights at the Chaweng stadium - great fun! Ignore the people who have posted any negative comments about the hotel - I am sure the problem is with them, not the hotel. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful with stunning architecture. The staff are the most friendly and efficient we have ever encountered. The rooms are large and comfortable with great beds. The breakfast is to die for! Don't think about it - stay there for the best resort holiday you have ever had - I intend to book another week there in 2013!

wow...top notch, fantastic, exceeded expectations!”
We arrived and were given the option of a free upgrade to the Muang Samui Villas & Suites in Choengmon Beach. The room was double the size, we had our own private pool and it was pure opulence. Couldn't be happier with the resort and the service. The staff were lovely, informative and professional at all times. As a vegetarian, my only criticism would be the lack of choices on the menu...however, that happens everywhere! I am totally shocked at some of the negative feedback I read about this resort because my experience was outstanding and I would most definately return to this resort. Loved it!! It is only 10 minutes from Chaweng Beach and the resort provides a free shuttle that runs 4 times per day. It was great to stay in a quieter part of Samui but only a 10 minute drive to experience life in the hub.

Absolutely Sensational”
My husband and I loved this resort. The location was perfect with all shopping, bars and restaurants at your doorstep. It is also set on a more beautiful stretch of beach. ( If you have young children, this part of the beach is perfect as it is calm. Some parts of the beach are more wavey )The rooms themself were large, stylish, clean and had all the special touches. The resort is well maintained, is filled with beautiful greenery, little bridges and a creek running thru it. We found that the staff were always friendly and attentitive. When we would arrive at breakfast, they would remember what sort of coffee we drank and have it at our table without requesting it. We felt that the service was very personal. The breakfasts were also sensational. Fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, thai cuisine... you name it. I can not say enough positive things about the Muang Samui. I would highly recommend the Muang Samui to anyone - whether you are a young couple, a retired couple and a family. It will meet all needs ! If we ever go back to Thailand, we would definately stay there again !
