The room size is ok. We found a dead cockroach in the bathroom. Plus lot of mosquito because our room is on the first floor.

Poor experience”
Horrible smell from the toilet. Dusty and dated room. Staff was ok but could not speak basic English. One of the younger staff was quite hostile and she just brush me aside while trying to explain to me regarding morning alms giving to monks. Only plus point is that you can borrow their rusty bicycles for free.

Peaceful and with beautiful view”
Having read the comments we decided to book the Peony room, which is upstairs overlooking the Mekong river. It is a wonderful room which we recommend you to book if free. The location of the guesthouse is ideal at the start of walking street in the northern end. All within reach but still quiet so you can enjoy the view from your balchony. The guesthouse provides free wi-fi, free bicycles, parking and breakfast is included. We enjoyed our stay. Chiangkhan is a good place to go to relax and unwind.

Riverside relaxation.”
I stayed in both a city facing and river view room. Both rooms were excellent, but the city side room was nosier both from street traffic and temple prayers. Not unbearable, but something to keep in mind. The upstairs riverside room on the other hand was much quieter, and offered the most amazing view of the Mae Khong. It really was idyllic. The guesthouse includes a basic breakfast, free bicycles to rent, and the staff, who although they speak little English, are friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again

Comfortable and Cheap”
Muiphang Gueshouse is quite small house but you will get a lot of nice and peaceful environment, you can walk or bike (free) to walking street.The host are still young but very friendly.Have cars park.

A nice little guesthouse on the river”
The guesthouse is towards the end of the walking street and backs on to the river. We had the ground floor room with french doors and a little seating area with a view over the river. We were able to sit out there once our baby had gone to bed. The staff was very helpful as I had booked for the wrong night and turned up a day early! They allowed us to take the room for that day and didn't charge us anything extra. Breakfast was included and consisted of a thai-style fried egg plate- where they cook up eggs and ham in a single serve dish- it was very tasty!

quiet view over the mekong river”
the city off touristic season is quiet and offers nice bicycle rides. Muiphang is well located in the old village. In early morning, when the river and the ills around are still partially coevered by fog, the atmostphere from balcony is pleasant and inspiring.

interesting place and great location on the Mekong”
was extremely pleasant.Our room was on the ground floor and we stepped out our door onto the boulevard that goes along the Mekong, I can only guess that the upstairs rooms overlooking this would be even better. An excellent location right on the Mekong,free bikes to use, breakfast was adequate although limited. Manageress was nice and spoke good English but not see her very often. Other staff not speak English so well but they were friendly and they tried hard to understand. I am learning Thai and wanted some practice and we all managed to communicate ok. This place was an excellent location, walk out the front onto the street at night and step right onto Walking Street and it's many vendors selling all sorts of different things. Many different restaurants and eating places around. I was sad to leave this little guest house.

This guest house located in Soi5. It is good location in case you are looking for the hostel in Walking street market and near the river. The room is ok except the restroom smell not good. Staff so friendly. Free bicycle.

A pleasant place with friendly staff. Nice stylish room although in centre of the building and no real window to the outside which I didn't like. Gorgeous central location. Reasonable cost. Almost no English spoken which could be problematic. Free bicycles to use. I didn't try the breakfast.

A great hostel in chaingkhan ”
I recommend everyone to stay here. My first impression is staff , she wait us to check-in around 8-9 pm (on that day has only 1 room check in) and breakfast very good , you will got local food with hot drink.

Quiet, great river view, value of money”
Good river view esp the room on 1 floor which I love. The location (soi 5) is not that bad, a 10 mns walk to reach the night market or you may call the walking street. No parking area but to rent the space is bearby. The breakfast is ok, you may order to get Loei style breakfast, a congee or a toast with coffee juice and banana. The service is moderate as the staff is local, do not expect 5-star service here but not too bad. Room condition and amenities are good though but one thing the drain in my bathroom is bad, very slow and need to be fixed.
