Look no further in Chau Doc”
'Look no further in Chau Doc for accomodation' was written in one of the travel guides, and they were right. Handily-located close to the centre of town and one of the ferry crossings. Clean, nicely-decorated rooms and communal areas, finished to a high standard. We enjoyed sitting up on the roof gardens either with a cup of tea around sunrise, or having a beer at the end of the day. The bicycles (provided free of charge to guests) are decent, and a handy selection of suggested bike/scooter tours of the area are in the information booklet in each room. If you should like to know a bit more, Wayne, one of the hosts, is very approachable and very knowledgeable about the area, as he is a keen cyclist himself. It's certainly worth a 3 or 4 night stay if your itinerary allows for it, to be able to see a bit more away from the usual highlights in the area.

Lovely friendly hotel with easy access to all Chau Doc has to offer. Informative staff with local knowledge and suggestions. Clean room and quiet location on a lovely side street. Excellent breakfast with a few suggestions to suit everyone's tastes. Honesty bar and pool table to relax at after a day exploring.

Clean modern hotel, good cooked breakfast, helpful staff, good location - you can walk to the centre. Chau Doc's best sights are out of the centre and best seen on day tours, the hotel connected us with a local guide who did great tours for us.

Clean accommodations and very reasonable rates. Owners are a lovely Vietnamese lady and her New Zealand husband who were very helpful and interesting to talk to. Nice breakfast.

Wayne, the friendly New Zealander manager/co-owner can provide info on anything you want to know about Chau Doc and beyond. The hotel can also arrange ride and guide on side trips. The place is decorated with tasteful memorabilia from around the world. Cozy. The only drawback for me is the lack of hot water supply- lukewarm at best. I know it is 90 degrees weather but I like a warm shower to relax my muscle at the end of the day. If you prefer cold shower, everything is fine.

Murray Guesthouse is a very convenient for overnight stay, when you are heading from Saigon to Ha Tien. Rooms were clean and specious and owners nice and helpful. The only small downside is that the breakfast is a bit light.

My husband and I stayed here for only one night to take the speedboat to Phnom Penh. The room was clean and spacious, the man at the front desk was very helpful. A note in the bathroom mentioned that the water is heated with solar panels, and we like to see environmental friendliness so that was a nice touch. Breakfast included Murray’s homemade sausage and was delicious! We had an opportunity to chat with Murray a bit which was lovely! Would recommend Murray Guesthouse whether you’re just stopping through or for a longer stay.

Great place to explore all the amazing sights in Chau Doc. Short walk to food and supermarket. Rooms have great air conditioning, good beds, super hot rain shower and a help yourself bar. Breakfast on the balcony is nice. Plenty to see like the Tra Su forest, Cham village and fishing village and floating market. Hotel can arrange or use Ms San tours who is fabulous. Very happy with our 3 night stay.

Good place and value for money”
We enjoyed our stay here although there seems to be a minor problem at beginning. This place is owned by a couple (foreign husband and local wife). We are a group of mix countries and vietnamese, and our vietnamese friends said that the owner didn't seem to like local to book their place and felt different treatment. Regardless those small matters, Mr Murray was kind and friendly enough. We enjoyed our short stay there.

Best Guesthouse in Chau Doc”
Staying at the Murray Guesthouse was one of the highlights of our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam, thanks to the generosity and efforts of the wonderful Guesthouse owners and operators who went to every effort to ensure we got the most out of our time in this Delta transit town. The Guesthouse is operated by a lovely Vietnamese woman, her Australian ex-pat husband, and their extended family, which makes for a comfortable and inviting family vibe. Free bicycles (the best way to see this town and nearby Sam Mountain), great breakfast, and all the free (and best) travel & practical advice you can ask for. Our next trip to South-East Asia will include a few days at the Murray Guesthouse in Chau Doc, and another banquet of the best roast suckling pig in Vietnam!
