Central location”
Stay at Mutuara Bandung Hotel, was a pleasant one for my family. The location is only 5 minutes from airport, and most places of interest, shopping are all easy to travel to/from the hotel by taxi. The hotel housed a small but nice swimming pool, which was fun for my family to dip in after a day out. Nearby are plenty of good eating places, and several convenient stores are all within short walking distance. The only minor setback, is perhaps the renovations and constructions of new wing of the hotel and we ran into a large student group that stays at the hotel causing the wifi to be unavailable at times! Otherwise i will say it was a pleasant stay for my family at the Mutiara Bandung Hotel, recommended to travelers to Bandung.

Nice hotel near train station”
It was our first time travelling to Bandung and last minute decision coming here. We booked Mutiara Bandung Hotel for 2 nights although initial plan was 5 night stay in Bandung. We wanted to book another hotel somewhere around pasar baru but as soon as we arrived here, we changed plan. Hotel located about 7- 8 minutes walking distance from the train station. It is near Kartika Sari where you can buy the famous Lapis Cake and brownies, about 15-20 minutes walk to Pasar Baru if you love shopping. Plenty of food stall right across the hotel if you would like to try the local food. Room given was spacious althought I don't really like the bathroom, need some upgrading to be done but it is clean. Friendly staff, beaultiful and clean surrounding. Pool was a bit small but it works fine for my 7 years old son.Wifi was strong at the lobby and pool area. Breakfast was basic and most of it will be Indonesian breakfast eg:nasi kuning, lontong kari ayam, chiken ball soup, noodles, bread and jam, fruits. Hope the hotel could provide cereal as well or maybe "egg station" to cater tourist from other country.

Second time to Mutiara Hotel”
This was my second time to Bandung and also my second time staying in Mutiara Hotel. Why I choose this hotel again ? Obviously because the first time 1 was really satisfied with this hotel and the staff hospitality that's why i decided to come back again. It's also located nearby Pasar Baru in which all the shopping took place. It's also not difficult to get public transport and i was fortunate enough to have experienced taking 'Angkutan kota', in which it was not available in my home Country. If i ever comeback to Bandung definitely i will come back to Mutiara Hotel...

Bandung Trip Free & Easy 15 - 18 May 2010 ”
Bandung is well known as for its craters and banana snacks. I have experinced both when I visited Bandung recently ( 15 - 18 May ). The crater at Tangkuban Prahu is unimaginably so huge and mystifying to every first time visitor. The white steam slowly rising at the furtherst end, passing fog and the chilly air, will certainly transport you back to the medieval ages where fire breathing dragons flew over the area. We had earlier in the morning hired a MPV for the 12 hours Bandung City Tour and the charge was Rp 450,000 ( inclusive of driver, petrol, toll, parking and driver's meal. As our MPV drove downhill, we passed through the flower nurseries of Lembang. Most of the beautiful flowers were blooming in the afternoon and there were alot of local residents parking their cars to fetch the potted flowering plants back to their houses. The nurseries are enjoying good business here because of the coooler climate and the numerous rich people who own beautiful bungalows/resort homes on the slopes. You can see these beautiful homes/bungalow houses as you go down. We had lunch at a small restaurant along Jln Sukarjadi and this is the first that I sampled a Sunda cuisine. The menu is similar with Minang/Padang ( short for Minangkabau - district in Padang/Sumatra ) dishes but here they use less coconunt milk ( or santan kelapa , thus the dishes are less thick and not oily. To differentiate from Minang food, they added some indigenous herbs/leaves and you get a tangy/ bland taste. I tried two kinds of vegetables i.e. the nanka ( young jackfruit ) and jering ( a kind of purple nut split open ) and of course the authentic ayam bakar ( grilled chiken ) which is eaten with the uniquely red ( beetroot coloured ) sambal belacan (condiment ), the small salted squids and of course the staple - white rice. It was a hearty meal to be remembered. Later in the afternoon, our driver took us to Pasar Bahru. This is a 8th storey shopping centre with a mosque on the rooftop. We we

Cute 2-star hotel.Room was clean.”
the front office staff were friendly and helpful.so were the room service guys.for a small hotel like mutiara, its location is within the city attractions such as the pasar baru.the mini-bus transport (angkutan kota) is a must ride.you will get the feel and thrill of ordinary bandung peoples'cheap and easy mode of transport.many of these mini-buses ply in front of the hotel.the only sad thing the hotel could not provide was a foot massage service!tired feet were hungry for a massage before resting for the night.......
