Comfortable stay in Pekan Baru”
For those who are first time in Pekan Baru, this Mutiara Merdeka Hotel is a good place for staying, very comfortable, nice and clean room, variety of food for breakfast. A bit outskirt from main town. But still easy to get public transport to go here and there. Good and very comfortable for travellers to get real rest after whole day outdoor activities.

Lovely hotel with smiling service”
This our first time visiting Pekanbaru. We landed at the airport at 2.30 pm. The hotel shuttle was at the airport waiting for us. Half an hour later we were at the hotel. While waiting for the check in done, we were serve with cold orange juice which were so refreshing. The hotel was bit old but the condition of the rooms are excellent. Going to the intended places are at ease by using taxi. The fare are chip and it ensure of getting to the destination in no time.

this is the precious time we ever had in indonesia while we're going to pekanbaru city and bukittinggi...the best scene we ever had was in the middle of the journey from pekanbaru to bukittinggi which located a huge bridge between hills.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. It is very clean a good Hotel in Pekanbaru, the rooms are big and the shop is in the Hotel open until midnight. Free breakfast and beautiful swimming pool. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Large hotel with friendly service”
We stayed here on new year's eve. as the only english speaking quests we received fabulous service and personal attention from all the staff. We were invited to join the new year's eve gala dinner function - the food was fantastic and even though the beer wasn't that cold we had a great night. Thanks to Bechtel and his staff for a memorable new year's eve in Pekanbaru.

this hotel is old so dont expect any modern showers etc. the room was spacious and it has potted plant in it. room was clean. bathroom kind of old. the hotel is far from the main city so if you want to eat out you have to take the taxi. on the whole it was a pleasant and fruiful stay for me

Stay there for New Year’s Eve. The place isn’t as described nor in photos. Most of the facilities is out of order (sauna, fitness center). Went to spa center, finding the staff treated herself a hair spa. Long waiting for lift due to maintenance (only one small lift is working). The water in the bathroom isn’t hot and the bathtub is dirty. The breakfast is too sad for 4 stars hotel. Good thing that the room is spacious but the area near TV is dirty with dust and the fridge isn’t working. Overall, it more like 2,5 stars hotel to me, doesn’t suit 4stars hotel at all.

Helpful staff, spacious room”
Perhaps due to the weekend crowd, travel from the airport took a much longer time to reach it, having to weave through the heavy traffic along the way. Its location is away from the city centre, so its environment is more peaceful and quiet. But the nearest shopping mall is a good 15-20 minutes walk, so it's best to visit in the evenings when the weather is much cooler. There are no restaurants nearby, except food stalls along the streets which appear after dark.Breakfast in the hotel is about average. The friendly and helpful staff are commendable.

4 stars hotel without service as 4 stars hotel”
we were attracted by this hotel because the rate was cheap for 4 stars hotel in the city. the location is in front of cemetary. for some people it is not good, but for ourself is not a problem. the tv channel was not clear, supposed to have 22 channels but it just broadcasted 16 channels. when i asked the it guy to solve the problem, it couldn't be solved. the food during breakfast were not so many options. normally i ask to have omelette but at that time i didn't see the chef whose made the omelette. the good thing in this hotel is just the room wider than other hotels.

The hotel is so busy and full of visitors at the time we stayed. I think that's why the restaurant was so crowded and less of food at the breakfast time. The elevator is too small and old, so it takes lots of time to wait for getting picked up by the elevator. The hotel transportation was very helpful, from and to the airport.

Hotel is pretty old looking inside. Air conditioner was not working well, it took whole night to cool down the room. Windows are not sealed so the noise from nearby street is audible. Swimming pool open only until 7 pm - it is just when you want to use it when you check in. I wonder if it is for employees or guests? Internet was working on and off. Good food in the restaurant (diner was excellent)and very friendly staff.
