This unique accommodation in the middle of Malaysia's lush rain forest is truly a place to get away from the world as you know it. Mutiara Taman Negara Hotel's lodging choices range from resort-styled wooden chalets to simple bungalows and rugged camp sites out in the wilderness. Overlooking the Tembeling and Tahan Rivers, the hotel is just a five-minute drive from Kuala Tahan and three hours from Kuala Lumpur. The 3-star hotel provides guests with an endless amount of activities such as swimming in Lata Berkoh, boat rides, cave exploration, jungle treks, and visiting the night market of the local settlements. When hunger strikes, there is a restaurant on-site that serves a wide variety of Malaysian cuisine. There is also a bar to sit back and relax in after a long day out exploring. Both nature lovers and thrill seekers will enjoy the fascinating sights, sounds, and smells of the surrounding hotel grounds, making Mutiara Taman Negara Hotel the ultimate getaway.

Nice for being in a rainforest ”
This is a tough property to review as it is in the rain forest national park. There are no other accommodations in the rainforest. The little town across the little river has accommodations but they are mainly for backpackers. Thus, there is really no competition. The cabins at Mutiara Tamaan Negara are rather nice but their is no WiFi. There is WiFi in their restaurant but it is very very slow. The cabins themselves are comfortable enough but since there is a rainforest surrounding them, you need to set your expectations a bit lower. There are wild monkeys, lizards, etc. everywhere so it isn’t uncommon to find something in or around your cabin. As for meals, there are rather expensive and rather ordinary. The restaurant is nice looking but seem to have a lot of ants. I guess it is hard to control them in that environment.
Good Location and atmosphere but bad service”
We booked through agoda for the Bungalow, but upon check in was informed that it's only for the normal chalet. With the higher price we paid and no other explanation given after inquired, we given up as we are coming in a group of 12 (another booking was under bungalow as well). Thanks for the accommodation but we need a proper trained receptionist to attend to your customer upon check in.
Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, staffs were friendly and good breakfast. Beautiful nature hotel, big trees, we saw beautiful birds, frog and we saw 3 wild boars were looking for food at night. The hotel was kind to add a bed for free for my children.
Very close to the nature”
The place is big and you might get a chalet that is far away. The good thing is, the further away it is from the restaurant and reception, the closer you get to the forest. If you are travelling with kids, might be a good idea to request a chalet that is nearrer to the facilities.
Sweet and simple”
Great location Comfortable bed Nice room Good bathroom Good water pressure Comes with a bidet Staff was very courteous Very Poor selection of t.v. shows Next to no hotel activity like a pool etc Food & drinks are over priced and of poor quality Massage service is way too expensive Jungle programs are also over priced if booked via the hotel Mini mart is definitely very pricey Alot of monkeys around so must be extra careful. Make sure you have enough cash on hand since there is no ATM best to bring own games n movies too keep yourself occupied at night since the hotel has none Bring own snacks as well.
It is the perfect location if you want to be in the park (other accommodation is across the river). The food is good for the money, the buffet is good enough and the a la carte is good too. plenty of space, lots of jungle :) loved it and the jungle trekking definitely will go back
Mother Nature Right On Your Door Step”
When there with my kids (Age 9,12,13,17). A Must visit before we die (if we love the forrest). Going places was so easy and informative. Locals were very friendly. Foods was easy and good + not expensive.
Nice chalet in the heart of jungle with river view balcony”
Great location inside jungle .our chalet has river view .nice breakfast buffet. Staff are nice .all chalet made of wood so expect many insects if u let ur door open. Chalet needs its wood renovation and maintenance. Price is too high but location is amazing.mini market available in area. As well the resort restaurant but food price is high. Money exchange rate is very high.so advised to change money in kualalumpur or your main city before coming to taman negara. I loved stay there inside jungle and the heavy rain sound is amazing where u can sit in ur covered balcony and enjoy rain and river view at same time.
Worth the money”
I rent triple room type chalet for 4 of us. Behind our room is the entrance to the jungle walk teresek hill and canopy walk. I'm very satisfied with the services. Because they allowed us for early check in and late check out. After check out, actually we've continued our activity to the lake bekoh and it finished at 6pm. This hotel provide us a hostel just for shower and change clothes even though we already check out from the hotel !
10/10 resort!! highly recommended ”
Beautiful resort with hiking trails on the doorstep. Chalets are clean with great facilities and surrounded by nature. All of the staff were friendly, professional and exceptionally welcoming. The food in restaurant was excellent, compliments to the chef! The guided activities were very enjoyable and the guide was excellent. We learnt so much about the forest, nature and the local people. Thank you for making us feel like VIPs. 10 out 10 for everything!!
Great hotel at great location”
Staying in this hotel has offered us a great experience. There are some activities that can be done thru the hotel services, but if you want cheaper price, some activities e.g. canopy walk, can be accessed without tourist guide, hence you only need to pay the fee for jungle entrance and the activity itself. The chalet is great, the breakfast is nice, for lunch and dinner you may go to the nearby floating restaurants for the alternative options. Overall, it's a great place to stay. It's recommended not to go there during rainy season, if not you're going to spend most of your time in your chalet since most of the activities will be closed due to rain.
This place was excellent. When I read reviews, I was led to believe it was expensive for a stay. Checked other establishments out. Yes, there are far less in cost; However, they are not better situated(across river, not a big deal.) but, you are staying a walking distance from park. The staff are the friendliest and helpful you will meet. Many activities and just a great place to relax and enjoy the jungle noises(music) at night. The resort is well maintained, Nice Restuarant, Complementary breakfast buffet and night menu accomidates all tastes. My only downfall sasifaction and not their fault per se is that local dishes are dummed down for foreigners.I being a chef want the real deal. Other than that is that restaurant is well kept. I cannot see any group or person not enjoying their stay. I want and will return again.
Great outdoor activities”
The location is superb for everyone who needs to stay away from the hectic city life. Among the activities that worth to try are Jungle Night Walk, Rapid Shooting and Visit to Native People Village, and Canopy Walks !!!
Perfectly situated right at the Kuala Tahan gate for the National Park. Room is clean, with sounds of nature surround us at night. A very friendly staff (Mr. Sakhti, if not mistaken)had chit chat with us and shared few tips on the trekking up to Bukit Teresek and canopy walkway. Food at the restaurant was good. Will recommend this hotel to those who seek adventure and also relaxing :)
Staff are helpful n friendly...”
Love my stay at Mutiara... Staff are friendly n helpful... There's a lot of activities to do... Just pray no rain during your visit so u can participate in al the activities especially the canopy walk... It's pricey but worth it
Food & Location”
Little pamper for a trip to the jungle. Location is great as it is just at the entrance to the jungle and riverside. Food is superb though it is pricey. Bathroom is new and spacious. Friendly hotel manager. Was allowed for late check out due to activity late end. Should adjust on the activities pricing for guest's convenience as we can get the same package with a much lower price.
Amazing experience with excellent customer service”
Pleasant stay, ever smiling staff who is always there to assist. The Resort's Operations Manager was the best I ever met in many years. The activities were adventurous and well organized. A perfect resort for travelers who loves to be close to nature
Very Well managed”
Our stay was very comfortable and the manager mr Sathi was very accomodating and friendly. He also went out of his way to help us when we had to leave early due to a family emergency. Overall, a pleasureable stay, and we will be coming back.
Value for Money”
Our stay was very good nothing to complaint about. They really know how to take their guests. They have very friendly and helpful staff. We just need pack our beg and just go there because they will arrange all the activity for us. No need to do any research just go and do whatever activity we like. Thanks to all the staff there and we very enjoy our stay, we will repeat again soon.
The best resort in Taman Negara”
We love Mutiara Taman Negara for its location. It is the ONLY resort located within Taman Negara and u can enjoy direct access to the jungle. A path leading to the canopy walkway is easily accesible via the hotel compound. Nature activities packages are provided by the hotel(charges apply). There's a decent restaurant but for those who prefer local restaurants, plenty are available with via a quick boatride.
