My Dream is a dream”
this would have to be one of the best places we stayed on our whole trip of 29 days. we were picked up from luang prabang airport and transported to dream accommodation. the resort is relatively new so you'd expect a certain quality, however the design of the rooms and bathrooms was a delightful surprise with the use of exposed timber support columns and a modern bathroom. our bungalow had a veranda that opened out to the most magnificent gardens that lead down to the banks of the nam khan river - as good as botanical gardens and tended each day by a delightful old gentleman who clearly loves his work. the gardens are a work in progress, being only a couple of years old, but already they are beautiful. meals are taken in a pavilion with no walls and breakfast, which was included, consisted of fresh fruit, fruit juice, cereals, bread for toasting with jam and butter and you could also order a cooked breakfast. bicycles were available at no charge for hotel guests and umbrellas were provided in each room - welcome as protection from monsoonal rains and blazing sun. the staff were so friendly and helpful and were being trained by a delightful and informative canadian woman, evelyn, who made us feel so welcome. although the resort is on the outskirts of town, you can walk into town, take the free hotel shuttle, ride a bike or take a taxi or tuk-tuk. there was a lovely swimming pool with lounging chairs and fresh towels laid out daily, although we never found the time, such was the array of things to see and experience in and around town. i would love to go back to luang prabang and would definitely stay at my dream resort again without a moment's hesitation. i could stay a week with no problem.
Fantastic boutique resort”
My husband and I stayed here for four nights. This was the first hotel we experienced in Laos as we flew into Luang Prabang. It was also the most upscale and posh hotel we stayed at durging the whole 2.5 week trip. We loved it here. After we departed my hubby realized he forgot his passport and a large amount of cash in the safety deposit box in our room, which we left open. It was still there a day later and we were able to pick it up at the end of the trip, thanking them with a ten percent tip! Wow! They were really honest and literally saved us. The breakfast buffet was really nice, the facility was beautiful, right by the nam khan river, with loads of privacy in the back gardens. Unfortunately the pool was - despite hot season - too cold to swim in. Our room was the nicest category bungalow... And frankly this may have been the most spacious and beautiful bungalow we ever stayed in on our annual SE Asia trips. Would highly recommend My Dream to anybody who doesn't mind putting down a little more money for a nice room. In a perfect world we'd love to be a little closer to town but since we had a rented moped (which they arranged for us to be delivered there, and picked up at the end, and the scooter ride into town was not a big deal, takes 5-10 minutes, depending. On where in LP you're headed. Great great place to stay when you're in Luang Prabang.
A place to rest body, mind and soul!”
My stay was Wonderfull as always. Here in my dream resort you get the true lao hospitality. And that is they will genuanly do everything to make your stay pleasent and the one to remeber. The manager was always there to do all you ask for give him grade 10+, vanhan was very kind and helpful. Keota was genuine, very good food service, pooh the van driver is a wonderful man I thank him for his rides to the city, kind and pleasent man. Laundry was to expansive 78,000 kip, what in the city would cost me 15,000 kip. So save money for good food better. Mok pla at tamarind restaurant on nam khan river was the best. I love the garden in my dream resort, view of the river and peaceful atmosphere to rest my heart and soul. For me Luang Prabang is like a diamond you need to discover, hidden beauty in he heart of jungle. It's kind people, since smiling faces and surrounding nature for me makes it the most beautiful place in south east Asia and I do Travel a lot. I will be back again at least once a year. Thank you my dream resort, see you again some day soon.
Exotic hotel in lovely tropical garden setting. ”
We recently stayed at this lovely boutique hotel in Luang Prabang at end of March beginning of April 2012. My Dream Boutique Resort is a very young hotel, but the lush gardens and lovely outlook from each room make you believe that this is a well established hotel. During our stay we were very well looked after by the gracious staff who always greet you with a smile. The location of the hotel is a little out of the way from the main township of Luang Prabang, however you can reach the main part of town by either crossing the bamboo bridge (not for the faint hearted) which is probably the quickest route into town, or by turning right out of the main entrance to the hotel you can follow the road down, take the next right and you will see the other foot/bike bridge which is a longer route into town. Our room was on the first floor above reception and the restaurant and had a lovely view of the garden and pool from the balcony. We had a king sized bed complete with mosquito net and the room was very tastefully decorated in the traditional style. Evelyn the hotel's manager made sure that every guest felt at home and was kindness itself when we requested a late check out on our day of departure, which was especially appreciated by me as I had contracted a stomach bug the previous day during a trip to the waterfall and was feeling a little below par- something I ate or drank! We would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing haven to come back to at the end of the day. Full marks to Evelyn and her staff.
Best Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang”
My Dream Boutique Resort in Luang Prabang is my favourite place to stay in Luang Prabang hands down. The rooms are immaculately clean, the showers are awesome and the whole resort is set in a peaceful, tranquil setting on the river. The spotless western style kitchen turns out some of the best food we ate in Laos (esp. the spring rolls!) Khamsen the manager, and his staff are warm and sincere and the level of service is unsurpassed. Beds were very very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting by the river as the sun goes down in the little huts reading and having a cool Beer Lao :-) We will return again and again to this beautiful hotel - next time with our whole family. Thankyou for an amazing holiday experience.
A quiet gem just across the old bridge”
This was our first trip to Luang Prabang and our wonderful visit was accentuated by this wonderful resort just on the other side of Luang Prabang's city center. While some reviews have pointed out that it's location isn't convenient, from our perspective, it was rather nice to be on the other side of the river; it's a short bicycle ride or walk across the old bamboo bridge into town, the hotel provides regular shuttle service, and tuk tuks are pretty reasonably priced also. While at the resort, we found ourselves treated to wonderful peace and quiet, whether enjoying our breakfast, lounging poolside or retreating to the river's edge where the set-up is quite cozy and welcoming. On top of all this is a very kind and competent hotel staff who were always accommodating and helpful. When we return to LP, without a doubt it will be back to My Dream Boutique.
Lovely little dream of a hotel!”
My Dream Boutique Resort is a lovely little family run property where you really have the feeling that the staff care about what they're doing. The hotel is pretty, simple and a perfect place to relax and from which to explore Luang Prabang. Although located across the river from the old town, it's about a 5 minute bike ride and bikes are provided free of charge. I had been worried about being outside of town but it's really very close while being removed from the tourist melee. This hotel also has a very refreshing pool, perfect on a hot day, that I think most of the hotels in the old town lack. The rooms are simple but cute and very clean. The updated traditional style of architecture combined with the friendliness of the staff makes this place a little gem. I would return and stay again but would reserve one of the bungalows instead.
Have stayed here three times and will book again”
My Dream is a boutique resort but what it lacks in size and facilities it more than makes up for in terms of design, peacefulness, beautiful landscaping and thoughtful, friendly staff who are prepared to go the extra mile. When we visit Luang Prabang we often spend one of two nights directly in town off the main street and the rest at My Dream. For the price point, it is good value and we like that it is not a big complex like some of the other resorts we have seen. This trip, I stayed there with two friends and my adult daughter. As we had visited several times before we were fortunate to be upgraded to the pool villa which was beautiful. I actually think the photos I have seen do it justice. It would not be out of place in Vogue magazine. The pool was a decent size and the suite itself was large and airy even accommodating a dining table , kitchenette and lounge area while the bathroom was sublime.
Excellent hotel with great service”
stayed 4 nights at my dream boutique resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. evelyn and her staff go the extra mile to make sure that your stay is perfect, including when we had trouble with a local tour operator who cancelled without notice our trip to go to the zip lines at tad se falls and demanded more money - steer clear of khanya travel which is based on the street behind the royal palace museum overlooking the river to book any excursions or tickets. the hotel is slightly out of town on a quiet residential street, but it's only a 10 min walk across the bamboo bridge in to town (or you can borrow bikes) and 5 mins up the road from the excellent dyen sabai restaurant overlooking the river. highly recommend this place to anyone visiting luang prabang.
Memorable birthday experience”
I celebrated my birthday in Luang Prabang last April and the staff prepared a small surprise for me. I fell in love with Luang Prabang and the hospitality of the Lao people. I am a frequent solo traveler and my experience has been enhanced by the kindness and hospitality of the My Dream staff. The rooms and facilities are to die for. The room is well-maintained and kept clean by the staff. The room I got had a balcony where you can relax and have a good view of the pool. The bed is always kept clean and the sheets are regularly replaced. I had a problem with one of the tours that I booked through the hotel and the staff kindly reimbursed my payment - which I very much appreciated. As a solo traveler, one of my biggest concerns is that some tour operators wouldn't pay attention to my concern since I am alone and there is no incentive for them to comply or assist me. My experience with My Dream is very different, since they fixed the problem and reimbursed some of the payment I made. Another plus is their regular service to and from the town proper. They will drop you off near the post office and pick you up at selected hours of the day. They also have bicycles that they lend to people who want to tour Luang Prabang on their own. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.
My Dream Come True!”
I was enchanted from the moment I arrived at the hotel which has a unique charm all its own. My room was like a rustic bungalow with balcony overlooking the treetops, where I spent some of the most peaceful moments of my trip to Laos. The open air restaurant, surrounded by flowering trees and plants, serves a lovely buffet breakfast. Every morning, the hotel manager makes the rounds, going from table to table, graciously asking guests how they are doing. The other staff members deserve 5 stars for their outstanding and generous service which made me feel truly welcomed and at home. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the heart of Luang Prabang, but the hotel driver is always standing by to give you a lift if needed. The advantage of the location is that the place is quiet at night, without the disturbance of the loud music and raucous partying that takes place in town. I can hardly say enough about my wonderful stay at My Dream Boutique Resort.
Warm Hotel with a feeling of home”
There is so much to say about the My Dream Resort, warm welcome from the manager when we arrived she was very nice making sure all our needs were met. Hotel with a feeling of home, nice clean rooms, quite location, just a 3 minutes walk to the local vegetables and fruits market where you can get a feeling how Lao people live, i had the best coconuts from a shop where a very pleasant woman worked. The owner of a resort is a wonderful young man who was born to work in hospitality a person who is constantly learning and improving, humble and very kind man. The stuff in the Hotel will take care of all of your needs in a pleasant manner. Breakfast buffet is so tasty, i had the most delicious vegetarian dish in my life green beans and pumpkin i had to go refill my plate 3 times and i could not get enough of it, even the eggs tasted so good, food made with love and care, organic ingredients you just just feel the difference in every bite you take. I stayed at the le bel air resort for two days and there i felt i was constantly being watched food was not so delicious. My mother was pleased with everything, i wish we could have stayed longer at the My Dream Resort. I also liked the swimming pool nice place to relax and cool off and very quite garden on the nam ken river. I loved a 15 minutes walk across the old bridge to the city as i rediscovered this beautiful, romantic city forgotten in time. I recommend this Hotel to everyone, feeling of home, i was relaxed i felt i can do anything i wanted. the best selling point is the food, after My Dream Resort it is hard to eat in any other Hotel because nothing comes close to their food. Make sure you meet Mr. Bounsa. As we were leaving the owner took us to the shuttle said good buy and waited until the shuttle left, little thing like this that make the difference. I want to use this chance and thank Mr Bounsa and all his staff for a wonderful experience that stays for a life time. Thank you My dream resort!
Our Dream Resort”
Thank You Evelyne, Thank You Somnuek, Thank You all Staff - My Dream Boutique Resort has indeed delivered wonderful hospitality in every aspect during our pleasant stay between April 1 and April 17, 2012. From the friendly welcome to the warm goodbye, our stay at this hotel was perfect throughout: it was "Our Dream Resort" with genuine friendly personal attention daily from all who work at My Dream, including the gardener :-)) Built and decorated in traditional Lao style with a nouveau twist, the rooms were a delight having all modern amenities you expect at home: endless movies, airconditioners that work well, full minibar with Beerlao, WiFi, a private balcony to hang out... we felt at home here. Breakfast was plentiful, satisfying and varied... the Restaurant Lunch and Dinner Menu provided many choices of excellent Lao Food and the well maintained swimming pool offered refreshing respite before and after our explorations. Getting anywhere was easy: walk to UNESCO town centre (only 400 meters from My Dream via bamboo bridge), drive to Night Market (at 19.00 you take the complimentary car ride), anytime during the day (ask nicely, show respect and you shall receive car service to town as well) :-)) We would rate My Dream Boutique Resort 20 out of 10 if it was possible, but we have to settle for 10 out of 10 - Thank You Evelyne, Thank You Somnuek, Thank You all Staff - Roger and Chris
Beautiful boutique hotel,gracious, helpful staff”
I was attracted to My Dream by the pool, and great reviews. it didn't disappoint, and was reasonably priced for the amenities and service. it is over the Nam Khan river, in a beautiful garden setting that has a lovely path thru the garden to the river. free bikes to get into town or in the Dry season just walk over the bamboo bridge. Caring, friendly gracious staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Only downside was that the pool was closed for various reasons for 3 of the days we were there, which means that if you had a short stay, you would have expected and paid for a hotel with a pool and would have been disappointed. Would definitely stay there again !
One of The Best Resort in Luang Prabang”
We just stay one night at My Dream Resort and we would like to compliment Ms Phu for giving us the most welcome hospitality. Resort facilities are great, the lovely swimming pool, open air library near to Nam Khan river, charming garden. Free shuttle and bike are provided to access to town and airport transfer. Or it will takes about 15 minutes walk to town by crossing the amazing bamboo bridge. We love the ambience of the room, comfy bed and aromatic shower gel. Last but not least, we truly enjoy and feeling great satisfaction with the buffet style breakfast with variety choices of continental and Lao dishes & coffee.
Simply stunning boutique hotel”
We loved staying at the Dreem Boutique Resort. From the minute of our arrival, the staff were impressive and concerned about our comfort. We had a private garden suite, one of the best (and most expensive rooms) but our teenage kids shared one of the standard rooms. Both were excellent but if you can get the private Bungalow it is worthwhile as it had a lovely big bathroom and two double beds. The restaurant was good, the pool was nice and the gardens were just lovely. The hotel is a little out of town but the hotel offers set times during the day for drop off and pick up from the centre of the town. We also hired scooters from the hotel which gave us an opportunity to get out and about ourselves to see many of the major tourist attractions nearby. The roads can be a bit busy, but not too busy. We would highly recommend the My Dream Boutique Resort if you want a lovely holiday experience in the beautiful town of Luang Prabrang.
My favourite hotel in Laos! ”
I have lived in Laos for 4 years and been to Luang Prabang more times than I can remember between business trips and friends and family coming to visit. My Dream was far and away the best experience I have had, not only in Luang Prabang but in all of Laos. The staff simply exude kindness, competency, and true Lao hospitality to the highest standard. The rooms and facilities themselves were beautiful, spotlessly clean, and my favourite style of rustic simplicity and elegance. The grounds are a very private feeling garden bursting with life and plenty of flowers and shade. There are not one but two beautiful pools and not to mention the gorgeous private garden by the river. I personally love this location just across the namkhan River from the old town. Less than 10 minutes on foot across the bamboo bridge and you are in the heart of Old Town. Any inconvenience in the location is made up by the free bicycles and regular shuttles. The breakfast buffet was simple but delicious and well done. But more than anything I want to applaud the staff, especially Ms. Phoud who made our stay the best ever in Laos! Khop jai!
What a great place! A pure jewel!”
when i got there with my three year old son we were greeted immediately by evelyn (the western english speaking manager from toronto) and the owner and director somnuek bounsa. they explained that my wife had booked us as two adults and that it would not be very comfortable for my son and i to sleep on one bed. they then offered to upgrade us to a room that would suit our needs better. i was very happy with that but declined because this was a father-son adventure in south east asia and i looked forward to sleeping next to my young son each night. the setting on the hotel grounds is very peaceful and beautiful; located just a 1.6k outside of city center and on the nam khan river which leads right down to the mekong. it had only been open five weeks and everything was brand new. this made the experience very surreal. despite the fact that it was a very new hotel, it was packed with customers! the breakfast was fantastic and they even catered to my son’s picky nature by making him some scrambled eggs with imported cheese. he loved the ketchup smiley face they put on it each morning. each and every day that we returned back from a lunch or a trek, the extremely pleasant staff would greet us with the traditional laos “saabi dee!”and then run off and tell evelyn that we had returned from our adventuring. she then would rush out and greet us like a caring mother would. she is a very endearing lady! one time i came home from a dinner and the tuk-tuk driver seemed to be charging me to much. i went into the reception area and asked nick (that’s personally chosen his english name he likes to go by) to come out and help me figure this out. the laos currency, kip, can be very confusing. however, i was right about the tuk-tuk driver. nick found out how much he charged me and laughed at the guy. he then told him to give me my money back. problem solved! there just simply is not enough space on this review window to tell you all the wonderful things they did. book this place now!
Quiet area but within easy walk of all attractions”
My Dream Boutique is a lovely hotel with very attentive and courteous staff. The hotel is within an easy 5-10 minute walk of downtown Luang Prabang. One can walk across a bamboo bridge that is pleasant or an iron bridge that is frankly a bit scary. Rooms are nice and the hotel has lovely, well-tended grounds. The grounds overlooks a wide canal that flows into the Mekong and is quite tranquil. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful in coordinating transportation and other things. We would not consider going to another hotel in Luang Prabang when we return some day.
One of the best hotel we ever stayed in !!”
My son and I stayed in My Dream Boutique Resort for one night and really enjoyed our stay there. The staffs were very helpful, polite and friendly. After we checked out at 12pm we were waiting for our airport transfer at 2.30 in the resort's sitting area, the staff noticed this and gave us a room for us to wait and relax. We were very touched and happy. Will definitely wish to stay in this hotel again when we visit Luang Prabang in the future :)
Take a look at these facilities:
