Spoiled vacation!
Our stay in My Lan Guest House was a huge disappointment from A to Z... Dirty average beach, very expensive bad quality food, not nice staff. We knew that this beach was quite far from the center with main activities but idea of staying isolated some days on the "paradise" beach seemed nice and romantic to us, the problem was only that the beach was absolutely not like we were expecting! The water has gray green color even in the sunny day (and not turquoise like on the pictures we saw in the internet) the beach is full of trash and the water is really stinky and there were some jelly fishes, the only nice thing is that the sand is white. I've swam just once during our stay because I felt a bit disgusted. As this beach is considered like the most beautiful beach of the island (and on this i have to agree because the long beach is really horrible) they organize a daily tours to Bai Sao beach and bring hundreds of tourists from another parts of the island by busses and boats. So during the day the beach is sooo crowded by mostly vietnamese tourists who really have no manners, they are shouting, spitting everywhere, throwing the trash on the beach - really disgusting! And the epic center of this crowd is just in the beach of My Lan Guest House. And in the evening the beach is absolutely empty, because there are only 2 small hotels on this beach and only 2-3 places to eat with insanely high prices and terrible really terrible quality! The restaurant of My Lan Guest House is the worst, breakfast was terrible as well.. Almost all the staff of the hotel doesn't speak a word in english and they are absolutely not helpful and not friendly. We had to take 30 mins taxi everyday to go at least to eat something better than on our beach, we've seen most of the island and it's really not beautiful at all, the beaches are ugly, it's super dirty everywhere, they are building plenty of new hotels in the island, trying to make it like a second phuket, but they don't take care

too expensive for this value
this hotel locate in the very beautiful beach, but a lot of VietNam guest, and noisy on the beach, dirty and really messy... you can stay here and walk about 200metters on left hand to the other beach, too quiet, clean and really beautiful the staff was very nice, I want to comment about the old women in here, look like the owner of My Lan or the landlord, the stupid women in that place, she talk to the guest like as I beg her to stay. totally, I never be back here any more and also may friend and my family...

Beautiful beach and average hotel
The beach is definitely worth to visit. It is the most beautiful beach on the island. But during daytime (11 am to 3 pm) there are a lot of asian tourists which arrive with coaches and get to the restaurant. A few of these tours arrive very day. So it is getting pretty noisy and they leave a lot of trash there which the hotel has no real interest to clean up (not at the restaurant and not at the beach). The service is not the best and their english is below average. Nevertheless it is the only hotel at beach and is really beautiful to stay there until the sunset.

Beautiful beach!
Beach! Rooms were spacious and nice
As our family walked into MyLans to check in, we weren't sure what we were in for. The front entrance is not well taken of care. But a breath of relief came as soon as we saw the beautiful, clean and spacious rooms! The beach !!! The beach is beautiful white sand, with calm blue water. We spent our days at My Lan, walking the 1km beach, and sitting/swimming in the warm clear waters! The hotel had free breakfast, which was no where near spectacular, but breakfast none the less. The staff had very very little English which made for plenty of charades and miscommunications. The mosquitos at sunset were plenty!! Having to actually go inside a few nights. The hotel was very slow as we were always the only table at dinner! Food was good and hot, although highly priced. We are beach lovers so I would stay again for the beach and the beach only! A nice private quiet place for a get away, don't be discouraged by the front entrance!
