An excellent alternative for Sa Pa”
I would whole-heartedly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Sa Pa who wants to enjoy the nature of the area, but avoid the tourist scene. My Tra is 15k or so outside of Sa Pa in a village surrounded by beautiful rice terraces. The owners are incredibly hospitable - the husband provides a map of the area so you can do self-guided hikes, the wife is kind, and their daughter is adorable and fun to play with! The only thing is that there isn't much privacy - the double rooms are more like little sleep cupboards. Still you can easily find quiet time by relaxing in the hammocks or exploring the area on your own.

Fantastic place to take it easy...”
Instead of staying in Sapa at a hotel and paying 20 or 30 (?) dollars to get a guide to bring you out, just stay here and do the same (easy) walks by yourself! Very chill and very easy!

Superb homestay”
Literally the best place I have stayed during my time traveling trough Asia! Andrew and his family are such kind people, always there to give you advice about activities in the surroundings or traveling through Vietnam. The homestay is located 10km our of Sapa, in a quiet valley, surrounded by rice paddies and local people. You can watch how they plant the rice from the terrace or just watch it from the hammocks upstairs. The whole house is spotlessly clean and while sitting on the couch with a big flatscreen you can even get a bit homesick. The home cooked food is delicious and always very fresh. Beer and soft drinks are always cold and cheap. Totally enjoyed my stay there and will definitely return!

Would to love have stayed longer ...”
Andrew, his family and staff were fantastic and really looked after us. Everything was comfortable and spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were great too. The seven of us were given great advice on where to walk, shop and ride around. We had amazing views of the valley in a lovely, friendly village and I would recommend anyone visiting Sapa to stay here rather than in the town. Highly recommended!

Great Stay in Ta Van”
Location, Great Host, View
Best homestayI stayed in Vietnam by far! Andrew, his wife. My are just amazing people! So kind and accommodating in every possible way. My her daughter is literally the cutest little girl on earth! Homestay is located in Ta Van ,10 min by car out of the far too Much Touristy Sapa. Anyway people trekking are brought to Ta Van by mini bus from Sapa to Ta Van and the Homestay is located at the beginning of the trail, hence you can literally jump on the trails from the Homestay. Andrew knows a lot about the best treks and paths to take no need to pay for a guide. You can take ur breaky facing the Rice fields Best view!. The food is delicious

Good Stay”
Location, Helpfulness, vView
I can attest to all of the other reviews- Andrew is a very helpful man; his family are lovely. The home stay was kept spotlessly clean, and our room was exactly what we were expecting. The only negative is that breakfast, lunch, dinner and laundry costs were not disclosed- a simple price list would have sufficed. As it happens, when we came to settling up the bill, the final amount due was substantially higher than we were expecting as a result of us not being aware of what the 'add-ons' would come to. That being said, I would not discourage anyone from staying at My Tra. Andrew is a fair, friendly and accommodating guy- just a little bit more transparency on the costing front would have been useful.

Two days of bliss”
Andrew/Lan/My, the views/trek, the food
We just had the most amazing couple of days staying with Andrew Lan and their beautiful daughter My. The views are spectacular; Andrew offered us advice and help whenever we needed - helping out with a great trek with a lady called Sa, a taxi, bus tickets etc. Lan is the most unbelievable cook and we were never hungry. The memories and the laughter will live long in the memory - we will surely go back for a cold beer and a hammock

my favourite place in Vietnam”
the view, the house and the family
Awsome. I was traveling from the south to the north of Vietnam. I needed to take some rest and Andrew's place is the prefect location for that. We had our best food there, thanks to Andrews wife. Their daughter, My, is just an amazing child, so smart and always laughing. And thanks to Andrew, he is always here to help, give good tips. Was lovely to meet you pal!
