seaview, budget hotel
Seaview hotel in budget price. The hotel is average cleanliness. Some rooms got better condition such as new floortile and bathroom and better aircondition. But overall is wotrh the money. Its breakfast is ok. Tips : the seaview room is quite hot because they will get the full sunshine in the afternoon.

A waterfront dive
Like many long-established hotels in Myanmar, this one is trying to rest on its former reputation as a decent place to stay, when in fact the city all around has passed it by. There are newer, better, cheaper places close by that are much better value for money. The room itself was thoroughly disappointing - old and worn, with plastic lawn furniture, a cheap rusty clothes rack, and a tortuous bed that should be consigned to the flames. There was some industrial green carpet unattached to the floor so perhaps I could have worked on my short game but, alas, I forgot my golf clubs. There was hot water, which theoretically could have been combined with disinfectant to scrub the black mold out of the tile grout. Wifi was just ok, and satellite TV with English language channels was a pleasant surprise. Most people, however, probably book this hotel for the view of the harbor. Hmmm. First, the view is blocked by security bars on the windows and unnecessary columns on the facade. Second, the windows are thin, so while it's pleasant to watch the waterfront activity during the day, the hammering engine noise from ancient longtail boats quickly grows appalling. There is a nice view from the top floor, but this is closed after the sad little breakfast, which was the usual toast and marg, instant coffee, greasy noodles, and the blackest bananas I have ever seen. I mean, they couldn't even walk a few blocks to the market to buy fresh fruit? A sure sign of a management that has given up, and which seems to make money more from wedding receptions downstairs than the suffering guests upstairs. Potentially, this could be a decent hotel with some renovation and reinvigorated management. But that may be only a wistful dream. Also, as with so many places in Burma but especially in Myeik, foreign tourists should be aware that they will pay far more than domestic tourists.

Good location, old style hotel, clean rooms
Seems that reception is not very familiar with prepaid booking and cannot properly handle. Hotel is old style, rooms are clean with view on river/sea. No elevators nor balconies. Breakfast on last floor with nice view. Location is perfect, central and near piers, with nightmarket outside

Good value
Good value, location, all you need
Reception staff was not somewhat unprofessional, but all worked out. Rooms are simple and a little bit outdated, but clean and nice view on sea/river. breakfast was ok, with nice view. No elevator, no restaurant, nightmarket in front of the door

Don't stay, we change after a day to another hote
View from the restaurant
We booked in advance into this establishment. When we arrived the staff didn't wanted to give us a room until we pay in cash. However we already paid at the time of the booking. The reception is outspokenly rude, impolite and incompetent. In the room there are amazing lot of mosquitos. I would never recommend to stay her. We had one guy arriving with us. Once he saw how they treated us, he politely wished good luck for us and disappeared. Good decision. After our night here we change also to the grand jade, which is only a little bit more expensive but light years better. This is typically state run mismanaged hotel. There are plenty of better choices in town. So go for something else.
