Fantastic ski resort”

I agree with other reviews that the hotel is a bit dated but the concern for me was 'cleanliness' in the rooms as well as the ski lockers. For this I rated the Naeba Prince Excellent excellent. Not so much value for money as it is a ski-resort with 3 ski rental shops and the prices are set to one rate - meaning if you don't have your own gears, there is no choice but to spend a lot on ski/snowboard set rental. There is a shuttle bus to the nearest train stop but scheduled hourly. Mind you, the trip is 30 minutes, I read one review here that said the trip took 5 minutes. I took the advice and ended up unnecessarily spending US60 (Y7.070). End of season, most shops are closed and the shuttle bus runs every 2 hours. Staff are very professional but friendly.

Naeba snowboarding”

Naeba price hotel is located at the mountain. Hotel is huge resort type. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are efficient and friendly. Snowboard rental, hot springs, restaurant and foodcourt are all available at the hotel. Frequent hotel shuttle to the nearest bullet train station. Great place for a quick snowboarding trip.

Enojoyed!”

Value for money. Really. This place is old but that it what makes it special. Back then we have big spaces. And it is still clean. I do not expect a shiny ski hotel so this place is a very very good choice for a family. The facilities around are nice and everything is there (almost) . close to the ski mountain, gondola, ski school, day care, restos, etc. If you are a first-timer in Naeba, book this.

Huge resort hotel located right on the ski slopes”

The Naeba Prince is a massive complex - around six interconnected hotel buildings with shared restaurants, shops and other facilities. It takes around 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other. It is clearly designed for large groups, not individuals. There are large cafeteria-style restaurants without much atmosphere, and a large number of shops. But nowhere to buy a fresh coffee! in recent years the hotel has become popular with Chinese tour groups, and they now make up the majority of guests.

Ski at Naeba”

The Prince Hotel is the best place to stay if you are out there to ski at Naeba. However, it is only said because of its prime location at the bottom of the ski slopes. Otherwise, as a hotel experience, do not expect too much. The buildings and facilities are old and they look so too. There is congestion at checkin, checkout, breakfast, etc, especially on the weekends. The food quality, excepting breakfast, is low and far too expensive for what you get. They have a monopoly there and they make use of it, well, obviously???

Just OK”

The hotel is well located, with a couple of ski lifts available adjacent to the facility. The hotel lacks any charm whatsoever. There's no aesthetic appeal and no apres ski to speak of. There are hardly any areas to chill after skiing without going back to your room. Prince builds these brutalist monstrosities in the middle of the mountains, and makes the rooms tiny and uncomfortable. The beds are extremely firm, and pillows are flat and lifeless. Food choices in walking distance off property were nil (one ramen place and one self-identified Italian restaurant in walking distance). Food on-site was expensive, yet uninspired. You just don't go to the Prince Naeba, or really any of the local hotel chains I'm sure, to be comfortable and pampered. You go to ski in/ski out.

Definitely recommend for snow getaway”

If you want to experience Shinkansen bullet train and snow that isn't too far from Tokyo.. this is it. All you need is JR Wide Pass to get from narita airport to here. The shuttle bus from Echigo-Yuzawa station to the hotel is every hourly. Bus ride is about 40mins. I got a triple bedded room on Wing 6. Acceptable for 2 adults and 2 kids. Clean rooms with amazing views of the ski slopes. Alot of eateries and shops thruout the hotel. A few ski rental shops top. The only halal kebab stall is located near Wing 6.

Did not live up to expectations”

We booked weekday stay as during ski season the weekend rates were exhorbitant for a run down 5* hotel. 35 mins by hotel shuttle from echigo yuzawa station. Good luck if you ever miss the last shuttle. Upon arrival, we were amassed by the size of resort, it does looks great from the outside bustling with service staff on the front desk. Tad disappointed with the room as even though it is clean and well kept, the design is very dated. Feels like out of the early 80s. We were expecting a decent bath room size given we were not in a city area, however bathroom was small. We were told by concierge the hotel houses more than 15 restaurants but at 7:30pm, and walking from Blk 3 - 6, none of the restaurants we had wanted to go was opened. Walked all the way to the furthest building to search for this ramen shop, and was greeted with a very dark alley which led to an unoccupied hotel building with no lights along the corridoor. It was a freaky experience. Couldn’t hotel kept the lights on even if they didnt put guests in that building? Ended up we walked back to Blk 2-3, and found the only restaurant, cheapest meal was 2500 yen. We paid 6600 yen with taxes for 2 pax meal. Extremely pricey and food was not good on japanese standards. I’m puzzled on how the hotel manage to get many decent reviews but for sure am not satisfied with the f&b options. Convenience store and vending machines littered around the hotel sells small bottled water for 200yen!

Perfect for skiing ”

If you are here for ski, there’s no other hotel better than this even it’s very expensive in skiing season.... because it’s “ski in and out”, the hotel and ski court is connect which means you can get in the ski court and back to hotel anytime you like. Good for relaxing if necessary The hotel facilities are years old so it’s to the most modern, especially building #4, quiet small and not fashionable. Recommend to book ski court side so that you can view the hill and ski at room

Should had better provide better shuttle bus arrangements for guests”

Most guests choose to stay at Price hotel because they want to enjoy ski with the best convenience. However, the shuttle bus arrangement between hotel and ski areas is not well. Guests need to stand the coldness and wait for the bus. If missed, then need to wait for another hour. Such a shame, it can be improved better. I have to said I’m truly disappointed. I will not suggest people to stay at Naeba Prince.

The hotel is about 45 mins away from Yuzawa station. It is a bit old and the skiing area is spacious. Great varieties of food are provided in the hotel. However, the open air onsen is next to the food court and is far away if you are not staying in Wing 6.

Ski in ski out hotel. Coaching and rental all available in 1 location. Slopes are nice if there are sufficient snow. But too bad when we were there, not much of a snow. Shuttle bus available to go train station but takes about 40-45 mins. Away from amenities. Get everything from hotel. Many restaurants and convenience store available but prepare to pay. Rooms and toilets are small and old fashion with limited power points. Basic quality products but I Guess is because of its Long history in that area.
