Charmingly authentic”
Stayed as a couple + two individual travelers in 2 rooms. Our arrival was a little crazy with a rare train issue causing a 2 hour delay but the staff were very understanding and helped us swiftly check in despite a little language barrier - our Japanese wasn't up to snuff but the owners were able to help with any questions we asked. Rooms were effectively equipped and what was expected from a traditional Ryokan with good air-conditioning/heating and bedding. Would highly recommend the slightly larger room if you're after a private bathroom - traditional bathroom with washing station and DEEP plunge bath. After a night we wanted to swap from 2 double rooms to the larger room and the owners were able to make this happen with no fuss and at a very reasonable cost. Location is perfect with a 10 min walk to the station and a 5-10 min walk to many shrines and Kanazawa Castle which was amazing. Would highly recommend the slightly larger room if you're after a private bathroom.

Japanese Ryokan Experience”
The staff are very helpful and very nice. Love the experience. I haven't walked or slept on a tatami before. Neither taking a bath in a public bath. Very exotic experience. The location is far from the Kanazawa station, but is relatively in a walking distance to the tourist attractions like the Kanazawa Castle.

Nice Traditional, Simple Ryokan - central location to all the main sites in Kanazawa. ”
Nice simple Ryokan. Not a luxury experience. Basic, bare bones, but you can enjoy the hospitality of a family run inn, and enjoy a nice breakfast (dinner is also served, but I opted to go to a local restaraunt instead). Room is simple 6 mat tatami with futon, low table and single floor chair with back support. Toilet is down the hall, and a couple of sinks with mirrors for brushing teeth and washing face is also down the hall. Bathroom is communal with shower areas to clean prior to soaking in hot bath - available during limited hours in the AM and after dinner in the PM. Service was polite. Great central location to key tourist areas of Kanazawa. I walked everywhere from here, but cab rides to station or key tourist areas are less than 1,000 yen. Decent value for money.

must-try japanese experience”
knew that we had to try at least 1 night in a traditional Ryokan and it was quite an experience! Had a little bit of difficulty getting there since we were walking from the station, but the directions on the website were quite clear and we pretty much google-maped our way there. The place was very near the sites though, the fish market, palace and gardens so it made sightseeing quite enjoyable. Room was simple and neat, and we enjoyed the experience of sleeping on traditional tatami and futons. The common baths were an interesting experience too. The highlight had to be the kaiseki dinner that came with our half board. A really extravagant dinner with some really fresh ingredients served in the comfort of our own room. The staff were all very kind and helpful, though they spoke a limited amount of english. Overall a wonderful experience, and a must-try in Japan!

Simple and welcoming ”
It is not a grand ryokan but a lovely family run type business. Room was simple but food was very good. Staff were lovely. I enjoyed a soak in the big shared bath. Location was great. Easy walk to castle and then through to Kenrokuen garden. Could walk from station but I chose to taxi was 800 yen there 1000 back. I would use this place again.

Nice Budget Ryokan ”
the place is small and run by family. You get what you've paid for. Simple ryokan in a very quiet neighbourhood. A bike is avail for use which a value added. Its got onsen as well which we enjoy so much after a tiring day walking ard the city. Japannese breakfast is plenty and very nice.

Valued for group stay ”
It is near to the seafood market and the castle park, should be 10 mins ride if you rent a bike. There is a bike rental station just behind the hotel. But it is quite far from Kanazawa train station, and not easy to find the exact location because it is hiding behind the main road. It has a good environment and big room to enjoy if you travel with group or family.

Very friendly, excellent facilities”
This ryokan has the advantage of having it's own hot spa, which I had to myself both evenings, although you wouldn't be able to guarantee this. I had a warm, comfortable room, although it was quite noisy as near the boiler! The English breakfast was interesting; it included a lettuce, tomato and pepper salad: the Japanese breakfast was huge, and included fish, pickles and an interesting assortment of bits. Also soup, and rice. This place is relatively expensive, so you need to be sure that it's worth paying the extra for the spa and for breakfast. Some English spoken.

Wonderful ryokan in a central location ”
Beautiful traditional hotel with very accommodating staff. They carried our heavy! bags up and down the stairs for us. One of us travellers had hurt their leg so they provided low chairs in our room to make it easier to relax. The on site onsen had all the amenities. Note that one needs to pay in cash, as credit cards are not currently accepted. Definitely loved the experience!

this little place was well located. ”
It was well located near the Kerukouen Gardens, the 21st Century Rt Gallery and the fish markets which had some incredible restaurants. The staff were delightful, always on hand and eager to please. Rooms were very basic but comfortable. Breakfast was magnificent so too were the feasts which were brought up to the rooms for dinner. Shared bath was an added plus and you could look out the window onto a cute little garden with happy little rabbits.

The hotel staff is so friendly. Also the hotel is nice decoration and clean. If you are look for to good quality Japanese Treditional Hotel, I do strongly recommend this hotel. Even the staffs are not very good in English, but I am sure that they will find the way to communicate with you.

A true Japanese cultural experience”
Before modern hotels, people stayed in a Japanese version of an inn. This ryocan has been in operation since the 1920's. The rooms are Japanese style with tatami mat floors, futons on the floor, etc. It is a very relaxing and calming environment that enhances the stay in Japan.

Fantastic ryokan, highly recommended”
Excellent location. Great value. Good breakfast. Excellent dinner. They even give you a parting gift. English speaking part timer was extraordinarily helpful. She gave us double futons knowing that we were not accustomed to sleeping on the floor to make it softer. You can walk from the train station without problem. 6 tatami mat room, so it is slightly small but functions well. Nice public bath
