The hotel was simply aweful. Do not stay there”
there is nothing god about this place
The place was terrible, across from a Kareoke bar, they had no power although everything else around did. The bedding was dirty, there was no running water, let alone a shower (hot or not). The owner was drunk. This is the furthest hotel from the town center. There is nothig good about this place. I left it despite my reservation and loss of money paid.

the owner. casual, cheap
I didnt stay . Nobody knew about it and I was also told by tourism office it was closed .. 1 h 30 of tuk tuk looking for the place . No wi-fi .. Dark place, room little lightning no reading possible, walk in dirt with suitcases, far from town and all ...I arrived finally late in evening, all was dark , and I felt miserable , remoted, no tv, no light to read, no wi-fi , no other customers ...But I guess the english owner and the Laotian lady can be nice and somehow helpfull ..

Fairly close to centre of town”
Fairly Quiet compared to other Guesthouses in the centre
Its a fair walk but its very relaxing, with no wifi or Restaurant it means you have to tuk tuk or walk to town 25 min.

Very quiet very basic Far from town”
Rustic homey
The bungalow style cabins feel very homey. The price can't be beat $10 a night. They offer hot water and a fan. There is even a bathtub in one of the bungalows. However the hot water is a bit flakey. One of the nights I was there the sink water wasn't working. The next the hot water wasn't working. The owner/ maintennance guy, Graham, though a nice chap, didn't seem overly concerned with how inconvenient this makes things. However for a roof over your head it's OK.

Dissapointed”
none for us
After reading good reviews, we decided to book 2 nights here for our stay in Luang Prabang. The owner showed us to our bungalow, which was possibly the most disappointed I have ever felt walking into a guesthouse. We booked a double room, with fan and hot shower, the room was a twin with fan, and cold shower (with little to no pressure). I can only imagine that this is a 'back up' bungalow which rarely gets used, as the sheets were covered in woodland debris. Obviously, when staying in a place that calls itself an 'eco-lodge' you know your in the elements, but with no where to even hang our mosquito net we decided not to stay. Asked the owner about a refund as we had booked, he claimed that the lack of a hot shower and general muckyness was not his fault. I hope the other bungalows are much better than the one we were shown to. Still waiting for our refund!

not what it seems ”
if your into eco lodges and bugs and a real quirky place
We ended up getting this shafty room with two little mimi beds, mosquito nets with multiple holes and dusty linens on the bed. Shower was also dirty. When we saw the other rooms in the morning , we were convinced that is we had got a different room we might have been happier. Additionally this place is about a 20 minute walk to town. No wifi.

Very Eco, not open 24 hours”
Friendly staff, very down to nature
When I first arrived I couldnt get into the hostel at the hour I arrived, so had to stay somewhere else, and another night had to jump the fence as I came home late. The water out of the taps looks like it come straight from the river, same browness as the nam song, not an ideal location.

Fantastic place to stay-palatial rooms”
Everything was good
Mercure Hideaway is a really nice place to stay. The rooms are large with high ceilings and comfy beds. We had a room facing the large pool and it was quiet and well appointed. the grounds are very plush and cocktails on the private beach for sunset are a must. The staff were pretty good and everything we asked about was dealt with promptly. We did not take tours with the hotel although they offered them, and the room service was a bit expensive-but overall it is a nice hotel. Great value for money when booked on Agoda!!

Perfect place if you like domestic fights”
Never a dull moment
The location of the guesthouse is amazing, and some of the buildings are quite nice. But the owners are in a constant fight and they love drinking... Furthermore, the real dorm was fully booked so we were placed in a bungalow that was not finished yet and we had to sleep on quilts or really small matrasses on the floor. The water was not working most of the time and we had to shower with buckets. It could have been a great place, but the only thing that kept me there for so long were the other great backpackers.

A refreshing change, a real nature hideaway”
Relaxing, homely stay
a great welcome by graham and vanh, we were well looked after. a great place to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. nightly movies in the restaurant, great food and good company. the rooms are bungalows and are the best we stayed in so far in the last 5 months in asia. good value for money. bicycles can be rented to get to town 10-15 mins, as it is of the edge of town but is a good hideaway on the river. full of wildlife; butterflies and birds and very well built. enjoy your stay.
