Great place to stay!”
If you're planning on going to Mandalay, do yourself a favour and stay at this hostel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, clean washrooms, the staff are extremely friendly and eager to help, it has a great rooftop terrace where you can meet other travellers, and the pool is great for relaxing. I've been to many hostels throughout my travels and this is up there with the best of them! Thank you to the Nan Bwe staff for making my stay so memorable!

Excellent Service”
I stayed at Nan Bwe for two weeks here in one of the double rooms. Excellent value for money in view of quality of room and facilities, only room for improvement would be having a kettle in your room along with cups/coffee. Breakfast was included with my room and was served with a smile every day. Toothbrushes also provided! Location isn't central but only 2 mins away (by motorbike, which in Mandalay is dead easy and cheap to hire) from 35th Street and Theik Pan Street which are two major roads with lots of things along them. I had nothing to complain about when it comes cleanliness either, room got cleaned every day and had new towels every day too. Pool was kept very clean. What made the stay was the general friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the owner, which contributes to a relaxed atmosphere, and they are willing to help you with anything from booking night buses and ordering food to talking to your grab driver to make sure he's coming! Would recommend!

Stayed here for 1 night only to catch my flight to BKK. Unfortunately, i think i was the only one in the property (was told that it was low season). Staff are friendly and accommodating and speak good english. Place is clean and big. They have a swimming pool and offer breakfast (fried rice, toast, egg, coffee, juice and fruits). Location though is far and east of Mandalay.

So clean as it only opened at start of 2017! Great place to chill (has a clean pool) as there is not much to do in Mandalay itself. Staff can help organise (half)day tours to surrounding areas for a good price. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

Nice place, but too far from the action!”
I was swayed by the pool. It was really nice. It's just that the pool and hotel are super far from the centre of Mandalay. I rented one of their bicycles (they should offer these free given the location, like song of travel near Inle do) and really worked up a sweat on the 20+ minute cycle to the palace. Other than the location, I really liked it. Staff were helpful (one of their friends gave me a lift to the bottom of Mandalay hill), the rooms were nice (stylish, the bathrooms were less so; no curtains on beds), breakfast was cooked to order (allowing for a vegan option of fried rice minus the egg).

The pool was amazing to escape the heat and there isn't much to do in Mandalay. Location is no problem I just hired a bike, motorbike or motorbike taxi and saw all the sights in one day. Great breakfast and great staff. Just one thing, the bathroom floor was pretty grimy.

loved my time here... didn't want to leave”
I was sick when I arrived and the staff were so friendly and even offered to go to the pharmacy for me. the owner told me I could use the pool even after I checked out of the hostel! the breakfast was great. tea, coffee, water and juice to drink. fried eggs or omlette and toast. they also let me use the bicycles for free and drove me to the atm because the arm wasn't working at the hostel. I would stay here again over and over!!!

I really like this hostel it’s close to where I need to be in the city. I was the only person in the female dorm on 2 separate occasions - so It was like I had it all to myself. The only thing is the next door dogs are really noisy - they bark all the time and no one controls them.

Every morning I look forward to having the nice home cook style breakfast on the rooftop. The staff are very friendly and will try to help whenever they can. Had a very nice stay here as I like the design of the hostel. Feels like I am in a resort whenever I look out into the pool from my room.

Pool! ”
The pool was heaven. It was so clean and relaxing. I'd stay here again just for the pool. Downside is that it's far from everything. I asked how far the closest convenience store is and they said 30 minute walk (it was 20-25).so yeah. But, they'll organize a taxi (car or motorbike) to take you on a tour of wherever you want to go and they don't charge any kind of mark up, you pay the driver directly. I did a full day motorbike taxi tour and it was great. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was only open for breakfast (free and my eggs were perfectly sunny side up every day) and dinner (inexpensive). They also have a couple menus for delivery. The beds were comfy and had a real duvet. The ac worked well. The place was clean but the bathroom floor always felt kinda icky. I'd happily stay here again.

Super hotel, staff & pool”
One of the best & most comfortable places I’ve stayed in. It is way out of the town unless you rent a bike/scooter or get a taxi but that was my choice, what wasn’t my choice was that the 3 nights were the most interrupted I’ve ever encountered due to the 30/40/50 barking & howling dogs in The neighbors garden who triggered off other numerous dogs in the area, all residents complained of this and something must be done ! Apart from the above, brilliant stay and thank you.

The locals working in the hotel were just so kind and helpful. The pool is awesome, due to the low season now there wws only me and one other girl in a 6-bed dorm. Nice breakfast and view from the rooftop. Recommend!

Not bad at all”
i stayed for 01 night in here, the first impression for this hotel is quite good, it has swimming pool and rooftop restaurant / bar. the only problem is the location, which is quite far from the city center. the receptionist gave me orange juice when check-in, but she suggested me to use bike instead motorcycle to go to U Bein Bridge and that was really far, it took me 3 hours (return) and i was dissapointed.

Very friendly, new and clean place. We had a near perfect stay. The neighbour recently lost her husband and now has more then 20 dogs.... if they start barking at night you wake up. Staff is very friendly and helpfull will stay here again
