Great Place”
Gorgeous place in beautiful jungle setting. I stayed in the cottage, which was very clean and comfortable; room even had AC. The pool is lovely, very clean and well maintained; I had an amazing swim in the pool one afternoon watching the monkeys in the trees just a hundred metres away! Incredible! Breakfast was included and is really nice- fresh fruit platter, toast, boiled egg, yogurt, fresh brewed coffee. What really stood out was the hospitality of the owner, Polycarp. He was so friendly, and happy to help with anything. Since he knew I was keen to see wildlife, he pointed out many things, including a snake which was in the garden. He gave me loads of tips for hiking and other things to do, and was also extremely kind in offering a couple of lifts to places in his car. I highly recommend this place.

The place is run by a very friendly and helpful couple and sits beautifully on the foot of a hill surrounded by jungle. There are several hiking trails you can start off from right from the doorstep. The place itself is very peaceful with a nice swimming pool, the rooms are comfortable and the design is very nice. The owner is a great host, he offered to bring us to the beach and some other places nearby and when paying the bill he rounded down the price which he says he always does. Great place to relax and enjoy nature!

Incredible place and hospitality”
We booked a room with a garden view, to our surprise there is also a waterfall just by the lovely little wooden house. The place is beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. Amazing view. We enjoyed chilling in the pool and in the hammocks. The room was clean. The host was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with him too. We made the right choice by booking this homestay at the end of our trip because we managed to rest and relax here, and didn't want to leave and come back to our busy city just yet.

The Homestay is very clean, very neat, and very efficient. It is also conveniently situated near the Santubong Mountain and the Cultural Village. A lot of thought goes into making you feel as comfortable as possible, which I really appreciated. The owner, Polycarp, goes above-and-beyond to help organize your trips efficiently and economically and is very well-connected in the community. As a younger female solo traveler, I felt very safe, well thought-after and included during my stay. I would recommend Nanga Damai Homestay to any- and everybody thinking of exploring Sarawak.

One of the best places we stayed in Sarawak. Everything clean, comfortable, beautiful room and setting. Saw monkeys in the jungle out the bedroom window. Polycarp ordered and picked up our dinner from local restaurant each night. 2km walk to local food court for lunch. Peaceful setting. Wished we'd booked for more than 3 nights. A little bit of heaven on earth”
We absolutely loved our stay at Nanga Damai. The homestay is beautiful and has an actual waterfall in the backyard!! If you are looking to go trekking at Mount Santubong, it's the perfect location as it is located just at walking distance from the entrance. But if you're just looking for a place to relax, you're also at the right address. Poly, the owner, is such a nice man. One evening he came to pick us up at the beach, as there are very few Grabs around. The day we were leaving, he brought us - together with another couple - to our next hotels in Kuching city. He also arranged a cruise for us, which we very much enjoyed. Highly recommend.

nanga damai homestay is a very nice homestay with clean rooms. We stayed 3 days, what was too short, we recommended 5 days. In the area around de homestay were during our stay monkeys. Ping and Dario are very hospitable. Breakfast is good and it is cosy to sit with other travelers to have a drink or dinner. + very quiet and relaxing - nothing

Nanga Damai is a great place to spend a view days. The garden is beautiful, and the pool a perfect refreshment on hot days. The NP is very close and beaches and the cultural village is also not far. Also spending time chatting with Polycarp the owner was suoer pleasant. Thanks for everything, hope to see you again some day :)

1. Helpful & friendly host- The host, Polycarp, was helpful and friendly. He picks his guests up from the airport if the guests arrive at around 2 pm and his guests can follow him to the Kuching town in the morning during their stay. He also helps his guests to buy dinner from a nearby seafood restaurant. 2. Safe & serene environment - I felt safe staying there as a solo female traveler. The environment is peaceful and it made me feel calm & relaxed staying there. A great place if you are looking for some quiet time in nature. 3. Strategic location - If you are keen to explore Santubong, there are a few places that are within walking distance such as Santubong national park, wildlife cruise, Sarawak cultural village, etc.

Great Host by Mr Polycarp”
The place is hidden and very tranquil. We loved the surroundings but our wooden cottage downstairs was in the direction of the sun so it was extremely hot during the day. Our stay was very meaningful because Mr Polycarp was generous and kindly offered to drive us to any location and he kindly offered us to join him on the way into town. We love the simple Western breakfast and the views surrounding the homestay. A very private time even if there are other visitors at the home stay. As we were not used to petting dogs, the dog is very funny and warm and stayed lazing around near the sundeck. The 3 cats are so playful and cute which entertained us as well. Bring a good book and laze around at the hammock at night or near the pool.
