Exceptional”
Very nice hotel with an open air private onsen (hot spring). The location is close to the beach and the Main Street. Easy to travel to anywhere in Shirahama. The family room is very big and I believe it can fit up to 5-6 people. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you Hotel Shirahamakan.

Great, centrally located onsen hotel”
Located right on the beach, with excellent baths featuring what appeared to be natural rock formations caused by long exposure to the hot spring water. While the building themselves are a bit dated, a lot of effort has been put into refurbishing them, and everything was clean and comfortable.

Value for money”
Good location & value for money. We stayed in the family room for 5 with open-air bath (kids loved it). Free parking is available, very close to the beach, 1-2 mins walk to Family Mart & 3 minutes walk to Gourmet City (opens 24 hours). Unfortunately, there’s smell in the toilet & mould in the bathroom.

The hotel staffs are all very friendly and helpful. But the hotel is a bit too old, and the public bath is too cold to take a shower, the shower stops for quite awhile... its ok! Its still value for money!

Nice onsen hotel”
It has free parking, the room is spacious, the location is excellent. The rooms with private outdoor baths don't have a view. The electric kettle in the room did not work. The room wasn't very clean - there were long black hair everywhere.

A good experience ”
Located opposite shirara beach, it was convenient to find and free parking is available on site. The staff were warm and helpful and immediately provided us with a change of room when we informed that the toilet bidet was not working. The onsen in a big barrel was interesting and very nice to soak in. If you turn right around the corner of the hotel, there is a nice pool bar, do go and talk to the bar master as he is a pool champion. Overall, it was a good experience, even though it was lacking cleanliness at some areas and dinner/breakfast were only adequate. Not for fussy travelers.

Clean & comfort japanese hotel with good location”
This was nice to learn the discount offer from Agoda for shirahamakan, staff were friendly with good english and location is good with bus stop nearby (30sec walk only).

It is located near the Shirahama Beach and also the bus stop “Shirahama Beach”. However, there is no elevator there. There was a staff who took your luggage upstairs but no for check out. Staff provided general service and can communicate with limited English. The hotel is old overall.

Hotel Onsen is great, near to beach just 1 minutes walking distance, 3 minutes to Energy land and to food street. very friendly staffs with english speaking. delicious breakfast . big japanese room with foot spa.

Good outdoor hot spring in room”
It was a dated hot spring hotel. Everything seems aged and yet the room we had taken had two hot spring tubs for relaxation with privacy. We didn't use the public one but I guessed it should be ok. Breakfast and dinner were included in our package . We didn't use breakfast because the time was 8:00 latest so we didn't bother to take but dinner was served in our room. Both ladies seving us were very friendly. Good was ok not particularly outstanding, but good enough after s short hot spring bath it was good enough.

Traditional but...”
It's rather old and not well maintained. My son hurt his toe under the hot spring due to rough stone and we're scared by a cockroach in the bathing area! However, the Japan meals (dinner and breakfast) were excellent, very traditional and fine. Well they don't serve coffee though! The room layout is also very traditional with a foot bath at the balcony facing the beach... well not seeing the beach directly because of the bushes. You will like it if you are a fan of Japanese style hotel.

The place is good. Especially i like the Foot spa in every room. Staff are helpful and nice. But I found cockroach in the public bath pool. and there is no WiFi in the hotel.

The location is excellent，the semi open air private bath is very good，but...”
The smell is not pleasant，not the usual sulphur from hot spring，it smells like fungal invasion and rotten wood/mattress⋯⋯and most of the staff are very nice and helpful，except one middle aged Japanese lady who tapped on her watch forcefully thrice when we were 4 mins late for our private dinner。

Very outdated facility but clean and ginormous. Liked all the amenities (including the ping pong and music rooms), the huge lounge and kitchen, and the onsen was incredible - one of my favorite hotel baths in Japan.

Love the easy access to the Beach”
Hotel is thoughtful to have a place to inflate your floats n store them in a room at the entrance. There is a wash down area with clogs tt you can wear when you enter the hotel if your feet is wet after the wash down. Hotel deco is a humorous mix period of thing from 60 years ago till present but they are all functional. Hotel room is clean and ventilation is good. Things are old but good. They dont serve food but there are good food joints nearby, Eg Restaurant Sakakura, Ramen shop, Family mart, etc.
