Great value hotel in the City Center”

location, price and service

It was a wonderful stay, even though there were mixed reviews; I set myself for realistic expectations especially since the price of the hotel was really of great value. The breakfast buffet was just right, something to get you by until you go out to the city for the real food finds. The central location can't be beat, it's just a walk away from a million things (SkyTrain, main road, commercial center, etc.) Although the bathroom was not as clean as I would've wished, I just didn't remove my slipper while taking a bath. It would have been a great place had they fixed some minor things. Nonetheless, when you equalize everything and be realstic in terms of what to expect, then Nantra Ploenchit is an exceptional budget friendly hotel.

Very reasonable price, good location, free breakfast”

I came to this hotel with my expectations set very low because of the negative reviews I read here in Agoda. I did see some rust and watermarks in the bathroom, weird stains on the wall, grayish towels, and torn wall paper. The television also only offers around 20 channels, with not many channels in English. Despite these factors, however, I did like my stay in Nantra Ploenchit mainly because of 3 things -- the room was very cheap, the location is only a few hundred meters walking distance from our office where I have daily meetings, and they offer not-so-bad breakfast every morning (toast with jam and butter, cereals, juice, coffee, and tea). The hot shower and wifi was working well and the bed was large and comfortable. Another thing that impressed me with this hotel was that the hotel receptionists I met were friendly. One particular receptionist even went out of her way to assist me when I was having troubles with my Uber after check-out, calling the Uber driver to give her instructions on where to pick me up. Overall, if I go back to BKK for a work meeting, I will definitely come back to this hotel. When you do come to Nantra Ploenchit, perhaps just set your expectations low as I did then you might be reasonably surprised.

service is ok but unexpected changes may take place”

We could not really stay at Nantra Ploenchit!! And we were informed that there are no rooms left when we arrived! Though we booked and fully paid for it in advance, the new year rush made it impossible for us to stay! Idk hows that possible!!! Though the staff was helpful and they shifted our reservation from here to Nantra Sukumvit, which was far better than this. It could have been worse! But somehow turned out well!

Basic, but value for money”

Clean, what you need but not more, close to business centre

First of all, the Nantra Ploenchit Hotel is actually the "Nantra" (without anything else; the Ploenchit is the location). At first I thought the Nantra sign referred to something else - it doesn't look so "hotelish" from the outside, so I walked but and later on had to call to find out where it finally was. The hotel is basic with small rooms, but things are clean and you got all you really need: bed, shower, flat screen TV, aircon, internet (not that fast), small safe. The breakfast is pretty basic too, just some toast with jam, juice and Nescafe or tea. Sufficient as long as you don't expect anything fancy. In terms of value for money in this part of town, it is a pretty OK deal.

Nice little hotel near center of Bangkok”

Location, price, room comfort

This was a surprisingly pleasant stay at a fantastic price. The hotel is located midway between the nightlife of Sukhumvit and the shopping areas of Pratinum directly across the street from the Swissotel Nilert park, and it's a convenient walk to either destination. The room was small, but still comfortable, functional and reasonably clean and everything worked well. The staff was polite and efficient, and checking in/out was very simple. The continental breakfast was basic, but good enough to start the day. Overall this was a very pleasant experience.

Quite close to Ploenchit, quiet area of Bangkok”

Very quiet location, near Ploenchit BTS station; nice staff who upgraded me to deluxe room; quite nice and comfortable room

It was ok. The staff were nice enough to lend me additional baht since I ran out of cash upon transferring to Nantra. They also upgraded me to deluxe room and gave me 1 hour extension for checking out. Food during breakfast could be improved a lot, not much choices. Wifi connection was very slow. Quite new hotel and the room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. There is also an elevator, unlike some other budget hotels in Bangkok. The location worked for me since it is quiet and not crowded. The only drawback in its location is that there are no nearby eateries or restos, not even a 7-11. Any guest would need to walk all the way to Sukhumvit area to find the nearest options for lunch or snacks.

Good location, very quiet rooms, friendly staff

We enjoyed the stay here at Nantra Hotel. The very friendly staff and thel clean rooms where most impressing. The room we've got was a little small and on the top floor just below the roof. It can be getting hot up there, but there is a efficient AC installed. We had a very good stay and be happy to come here again.

Good stay at a great price”

location, price, room comfort

This hotel is in a great location; it's about midway between the nightlife areas of Sukhumvit and the shopping areas of Pratinum and a reasonably easy walk to both. The Deluxe room was comfortable, but not as clean as it should be. The glass in the bathroom was stained and the room had a few ants (which is not uncommon in Thailand). Other than that, it was comfortable and adequate with a comfortable western style mattress. The wifi and TV worked well, and the staff was polite and efficient with easy check in and out. The continental breakfast was very basic, but enough to start the day, and the room had a refrigerator inside. This is a decent hotel at a great price.

Nice Hotel”

Friendly staff, nice room, clean

The hotel is closed to Swiss and Bristish embassy which was what I needed. For a holiday stay, I would prefer a location closer to Sukhumvit road. The hotel room (deluxe) was nice and clean, staff is friendly. Breakfast was okay.

Visit Bangkok”

Quiet, Clean, near British Embassy

It was fine. I live in Thailand and was visiting the British Embassy nearby, so it was good value and quiet. Breakfast was a bit basic, a toaster and a water heater and a pitcher of orange juice, but for those of us who are toast for breakfast people it was fine. All in all pretty much what I expected. Generally clean and quiet. But only a rail in room to put clothes on. And near shower. But works for short stay. One good thing was that pretty much at all times coffee or tea was available in reception. I would have preferred it in the rooms but beggars etc!!!. There are also a lot of Nantra Hotels in Bangkok and our Taxi took us to a couple of other ones. Yes there were cards in reception when we went out but we all think we know all. things. I only had room key with me. Maybe put Hotel contact number on Room Key, but not important my fault.

Very comfortable hotel with good location.”

Location, price, quality.

I had such an amazing stay. The hotel may be a bit hard to find at first but once you know its location, you will have no problem. It's just about a 5 to 10 min walk to Ploen chit BTS which is great!! And it is walking distance to other stations nearby (if you like to walk and explore) I walked from Asok BTS to Ratchatewi bts which is about 5 to 6 bts stops (ploen chit is in the middle) I'd recommend you to walk. The room is great! Very clean room, clean towel, clean bed. Even has a TV. The bed is SO comfortable and the aircon works perfectly fine. Even provide 247 hot water!!!! The only downside is that there is no view from the window but tht is not a problem to me. Breakfast provided and the staff keeps refilling it which is really good. There's cereal, bread, orange juice, hot drinks which is really good enough to me. The staff are very friendly. They would help us write the places we are going in Thai so that the tuk tuk/taxi driver can understand! I really recommend this hotel! Was so pleased :)

Nantra Ploenchit”

Clean, central and cost

This was my second stay at this hotel and I will stay here again next time I go to Bangkok. The price is right for me, considering the location and the quality provided. The room was very clean, not as big as the one I had on the previous visit, but it was cheaper and I was only staying one night. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the Skytrain BTS station or 20 baht on a motor cycle taxi. From there it is only one or two stops to the shopping malls. Breakfast is very simple, but good enough for me.

OK and handy for embassi”

very near UK embassy (and Swiss). Not expensive for this area. Room was small, but clean and comfortable.

The hotel is 200m from UK embassy. There was no room to walk round the queen sized bed, but there was a fridge with complimentary water. The shower room was small, but adequate, and the room was air conditioned. There were a few English language channels on the TV, including news and Universal / SyF, NatGeo Wild. We had little contact with staff, but check-in was efficient. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, toast and jam/marmalade, along with very average coffee/tea. A kind of orange juice was also available. The hotel is located in a side street almost opposite the UK embassy, and is not easy to spot. It has no restaurant, and the nearest is at the crossroads by Ploenchit BTS station, in a mall called Central Embassy - good, inexpensive Thai food. This was my second visit to the hotel, which was little changed from my first visit. If I visit this area again, I will probably use it again.

Lovely little hotel in excellent position near embassy area. Budget price too.”

Clean and well-run, but with small rooms. Good for a sleepover as it is in walking distance of many embassies, and a huge mall (Central Embassy.) On Wireless road, and also within easy walking distance of Ploen Chit BTS, and some of the livelier Sukhumvit street activities. Street markets, good Indian and Middle Eastern restaurants, and some enticing ladies (if that's your beat).

Adequate Hotel at a Great Price”

This hotel is well located about midpoint between the nightlife area of Sukhumvit and the shopping areas of Pratinum. It's also about a 1 kilometer walk to the American embassy. It was very reasonably priced, fairly new and the internet and television worked well, but the room had not been cleaned well and the sink had a rubber band on the faucet to minimize the leaking. The free breakfast was basic but adequate and it was a nice stay.

OK...but...”

The location of this hotel is fine for travelers wanting to get away from the noise and congestion of the Nana/Sukhumvit area. It is fairly close to Siam Square and the major shopping venues nearby. However, it is a little off of the beaten track in that it is a long walk to Sukhumvit Road where you can get a taxi or take the sky train. There are no nearby restaurants and there is only a continental breakfast service at the hotel itself. Finally, it is a bit difficult to find as it is tucked away in a small soi off of Wireless road. it is fairly close to the US Embassy (about a 15 minute walk). The major thing about this hotel is that it is in a quiet location. The rooms are clean and comfortable but on the 3 or 4 times I stayed here I found the staff to be a little on the testy side..

Location to Bumrungrad, Comfortable beds, Location to MRT

While this hotel is not near most of the touristy items, it served my two friends and I well. We had medical check ups in the morning at Bumrumgrad Hosptial and were able to walk from the hotel in 15 minutes. The room was clean and efficient. If you get a good deal, the hotel is worth the price. Hiowever, the standard price is a bit high for the type of hotel it is (no pool, very basic breakfast of toast, etc).
