Nice clean hostel with helpful staff”

We had a great stay at Nasubi backpacker hostel. It's very comfortable with a great setup for backpackers. A big kitchen, laundry, nice hangout area, back porch and nice, clean rooms and bathrooms. The staff and owner goes above and beyond to help you during your stay. It's a 5 minute walk from Fuji train station Fuji and easy to get to Fujinomiya and the sights around there. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it!

    Japanese Hospitality”

We love this Hostel...my friend and i stayed in Nasubi before we went hike the Fuji mountain and it was the best place we could ask for. the location only 10 minutes walk from the Fuji station from there we can take the bus to Fujinomiya trail 5th Summit. the hostel is really clean, typical Japanese traditional house with modern shower and toilet. the dorm room was very comfort, we had our best sleep that night and the owner give us a ride to the fuji station the next morning. i would highly recommended this place not only as a based before the Fuji mountain but to feel the Japanese Hospitality in large.

Very cheap and worth the money! Kind of remote location”

They had everything I wanted, including a comfortable lounge and wifi. The kitchen seemed very stocked, which would have been nice if I were staying longer. The house was kind of cold at night. It was cool to live in a traditional Japanese style house though. I thought it would be easy to get closer to the main attractions near Mt. Fuji, but turns out it's very far (like 2.5 hours via train and bus), and it's kind of in a remote place. I ended up renting a bike from the Shin-Fuji tourism office and just biking around the area.

Kazu and Mari, the young couple managing the place were very friendly and helpful. Kazu picked us up from the train station and sent us back to the station. Awesome old Japanese house with Fuji view”

Owner stays upstairs, awesome, there is a public area to exchange conversations with other travellers, the front door of the house opens to Mt Fuji. Owner recommended us to Fujinomiya's Takasago brewery, Lake Tanuki which are like picture-postcard-perfect. Would stay longer the next time i head there! Place is clean, bathroom upstairs with all heated shower/hair dryer/ sinks/towels/toiletries. He also helped to retrieve my lost package from the bus station at FujiQ Highland! omg. Lovely.

Nice place and very friendly host”

The place was honestly a bit far from the station, but the host was very helpful in driving us to and from the station generously. If you are thinking about trekking or travel around Mt. Fuji, this is one of the nicest place to stay in. I actually found one very nice restaurant near the Fuji station, and would love to go back there just for another taste of those delicious dishes! Anyway, the host gave me all sort of information needed to get around the area. So, if you happen to go there with no plan like I did, Nasubi could be a very nice place to start off.

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed during our time in Japan. Very fairly priced. Fantastic hosting - the friendliness and hospitality was one of the highlights. The place itself had a lovely feel. It had wooden structures and the beds were spacious and comfortable. It's also only a ten minute walk to both Fuji station and Shin-Fuji station. The area is industrial. It’s not a city of interest but, north is Mt Fuji, east is Yokohama and West Osaka. If like me you are cycling, you’ll need to stop eventually somewhere ! I recommend this place because it’s owner is the one who do it all ! Passionate guy and dedicated to his guests. Cozy and lots of Ressources.

Perfect Hostel for Climbing Mount Fuji”

My friend and I stayed one night in this hostel and set out to climb Mount Fuji the day we checked out. Kazu san let us store our bags there so we didn’t have to carry everything up the mountain. And we were able to shower when we came back to retrieve our bags. The hostel itself is a nice, quaint house. My friend and I shared a private room and had a really comfortable king size bed to sleep on. Everyone was very helpful. Kazu san even gave us a ride back to the train station when we left. I would visit again!

    Best hostel ever”

The owner of the hostel is really good, friendly and helpful. He will recommend where to visit and where to eat. The hostel is located about 12 minutes walk from the train station. However the owner is really kind to pick up the guests from the station or drive the guests to the station. Really a good hostel to stay, will stay back here when I visit fuji next time.
