Nice with a few issues
Pros: the owner was very sweet. The pool is awesome. Cons: our room was cute, but it smelled like raw sewage. It was seriously so bad we woke up in the morning feeling ill. Told the owner, who moved us to a new room. New room was a tiny, dark closet that only fit the bed. Plus the bathroom was filthy.

Would stay there again
Comfort rooms, with aircon, fridge and nice beds. The shower wasn't hot. The placer is really nice. A pool with a cheap bar where you can eat for 60 bahts. The location is excellent. They have bycicles you can rent or borrow (for a short time). The owners are Chinese and don't speak good english. They weren't that helpfull. That's the only bad thing. But i highly recommend it.

So awful I had to write a review
I really wanted to give this guesthouse a chance knowing that I didn't book a fancy hotel, but there were too many bad aspects that stopped me from doing so. THE ROOM -1 key for 3 people. A hassle to keep track of when venturing separately. -Paper thin walls. Weak air- conditioning. Cramped bed space. Awkard positioning of electrical outlets. -Dimly lit. Made reading and putting on makeup hard. -Spotty wifi. Trouble connecting many times. -Combined shower/toilet bathroom. Smelled faintly of urine. Slow flushing toilet. Lukewarm "hot" shower with weak drainage.

Mosquito farm on a busy road, bad reception service.
Between two busy lanes, full of mosquitos, very chemical taste of water in the pool. Moved all my stuff to another room, making a huge mess. Instead of a taxi I got a tuk tuk to go to airport- and receptionist just didn't care. All in all, unpleasant experience.

A Hideaway Sanctuary
I love Nat Len so much, I returned for a second stay this year. I'd really prefer it to anywhere else. It's cozy. It's beautiful; welcoming and hospitable. My room was small but adaquate for my needs; although there are larger rooms for those who need them. The courtyard pool dining area is also a great place to meet other guests and begin conversation. The third floor also has a small sitting area for gathering or solitude, as one chooses. The bed mattress is firm, which is fine for me but may not be for everyone. As integral to the city surroundings as Nat Len is, one might think it noisy at night. But no; the streets settle down and are very quiet. It's also a safe neighborhood for solo female traveler's like myself. All in all I think Nat Len is a great find!

Quick but good stay
Natlen BGH is really great for the brief stay that I had in Chiang Mai over the long weekend during new year. It is good in terms of location for me because I like less crowded areas as compared to the city centre. At the same time it is easily accessible to the places of interest as it is just one street away from the city moat.
