Exceptional”
Excellent location minutes from Old Jerusalem (walled city). And it is in the business centre of Palestinian (occupied) Jerusalem. The street tram is 100 meters away. Breakfast buffet is generous. We did not use any other amenities, so we can’t comment. But staff are very friendly and helpful

Great Value for the Price”
I very much liked this place for the amount paid. It’s close to everything and there is a lot of great, inexpensive food nearby. I would stay here again.

Great location by the old city”
Central location to many of the places we visited. Room was decent but was not the cleanest. A couple areas on the bed had strands of hair on it, floor had a sticky/glossy film over it and there was food left in the fridge. Breakfast was amazing and staff was great!

Mixed feelings ”
Well, the good things about this hotel are the location, the size of the rooms, the shower and comfortable beds. Unfortunately when I checked into my room it was not clean. There was hair in the bed and on the pillowcases. Someone came to clean it but they did it while I was in the room which was a bit awkward. He swept the floor and there was a pile of hair and dirt so obviously the room had not been cleaned at all. The rooms are also a bit dark and depressing. Upon checkout I asked the staff about the sherut to Tel Aviv (from Zion square) and they told me there isn't any and I need to book in advance otherwise I'm out of luck. I went anyway and sure enough I caught a sherut just fine. In my opinion hotels should be knowledgeable about these things so they can help tourists. Cleanliness and staff get a thumbs down, but I did really like the hot shower, comfy beds, and tasty breakfast.

Acceptable”
Public areas, including the breakfast which is included, was fine. The hotel room was more than rough. Receptacles near bed were tied to room lights rendering it impossible to use a cPap. Fortunately we had 2 additional single beds with a live receptacle not tied to the room lights. No cups or glasses other than a ceramic cup with chips and cracks

A horrible experience ”
The room is dirty, safe box is disconnected. TV doesn’t work and I even can’t have a glass for drinking water.

Hotel National. I would stay again.”
I was in Jerusalem with my wife from July 30 to August 5. In my opinion the hotel is not a 4 but 3 star. But still for its price it’s a very good solution. The rooms are quite clean and well equipped. The breakfast is quite good. The hotel is situated not far from the Old City (only 5 minutes of walk to the nearest gate to the Old City and 10-13 minutes to the Church of Holy Sepulcher). Though it is in Muslim quarter, which is of course more noisy and dirty than the others but still it is very safe to stay in this quarter. At least for a couple it is very safe. I don’t know how it is for a single woman. The hotel staff is just excellent, especially Nirvana. She is very helpful and really loves her job. In overall I would give 8 points from 10 for the hotel and would not mind to stay there next time we would be in Jerusalem. We were in Jerusalem during the last war between Israeli army and Hamas but there was nothing reminding us about the war, except of course the fact that there were very few tourists and it was easy to go everywhere and to bargain when buying something (the sellers were always saying that if there wasn’t this war they would sell the item twice more expensive). I was second time in Jerusalem and know not from the reviews how many tourists should be in the city if there was no war. So, it is very safe to go there now and I recommend not to delay the visit because of the war.

Very pleasant stay, clean hotel, excellent staff!”
I initially booked two nights as this was my first stay in East Jerusalem...wanted to get a feel of the area first. I then extended my stay fo a further five nights on the basis that the hotel was fine and such good value for money. The staff here are all excellent from the room attendants, to Nirvana and the other Front Desk staff, to the Management. The location may not suit everyone as the hotel is in E Jerusalem. But I wouldn't let that put you off, for me it was a new and interesting experience staying here. Walking around at night was no problem, the area is obviously different to the other side of Jerusalem (bookshops here tend to be very pro-palestinian for example), but I still felt quite safe and experienced no problems. I only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was very pleasant and there was plenty. The only slight gripe, and it was minor, was the wi-fi didn't always work in the rooms. However you have free use of their pc's in the lobby so no problem really. Having stayed in Jerusalem over ten times I'm hard pushed to think of a hotel where the staff tried harder than those at the National Hotel to make my stay successful. I would definitely consider staying here again.

WE ARE GLAD HAVING YOU AT THE NATIONAL HOTEL HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN REGARD
Wonderful stay...”
Made a quick overnight trip to Jerusalem from Amman with a small group and needed a hotel that was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Well, I got two out of three, as it was during Ramadan, the street out front gets pretty rowdy after 10pm and the celebrations continue past 1am. I had asked the desk clerk that the room be on the quiet side of the building. He assured me it was. We were so tired after a long and busy day of walking and seeing all we could see in a day of walking around Jerusalem, that didn't bother with changing rooms. Other than that, it is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are fairly spacious, clean, and modern. I found the bed pretty comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Looking back, I probably should've had them switch rooms to the side of the building not facing the street. So be warned, if it's during Ramadan, prepare for a street party on the street out front.

a great place to stay”
I stay in lots of hotels for business and never bother to write a review but my stay at National Hotel Jerusalem was so acceptably satisfying I thought it deserved an excellent review. The Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and both ladies at the front deck were very helpful especially Nirveha. There was no bar but I brought liquor and drank it in my room, that saved me some money.

Superb”
I enjoyed my stay at the National Hotel Jerusalem very much. The Staff were warm and helpful, especially Nirvana, who helped us to sort out a problem with our day tour and also with general enquiries. The breakfast spread was wide and wonderful. We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was far better than the neighbouring restaurants in the area. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean. The hotel is a short walk to Damascus Gate and Flower Gate. I would certainly stay here again.

Location, helpful and friendly, nice room and bed.”
My stay was really great at National! It was my first time in Israel, Nirvana was very warmth and helpful to make my stay and trip an really enjoyable one! She's just amazing and very thoughtful & caring, helped in every way: arrange trip, where to exchange money, different ways to go different places, etc... Room has balcony and could open window for the fresh air to come in! it's roomy and comfy! Breakfast has a nice view but not many choices, but good enough to get you going for the next few hours, peppers and veggies are really fresh! It's located in Arab side which is fantastic! Close to sightseeing and people are friendly! If going Jerusalem again would definitely go back to this hotel!

Very good hotel, best breakfast, perfect location ”
Hotel is just 5 mins walk away from old city. Many eating places nearby. A few bad things but they can be ignored when there are so many good things. Very friendly staff, always ready for help. Especially Mohammed and Lama at reception were nice, helpful and friendly. Good wifi speed. Hotel interior is nice and modern. Rooms are very spacious. Washrooms need a bit renovation. The safe in our room wasn't working which they changed the next day. Telefone in our room wasn't working either but they dint fix it during our whole stay of 5 nights and it was a bit irritating to go down at the reception for everything instead of just calling from our room. 2 single beds were together to make a double bad which means the bed can slide apart a few inches any time of the night. Breakfast was awesome. Huge and fresh variety, hot breakfast. The cook makes omlettes or fried eggs of your choice at the spot. Breakfast room/restaurant had a nice view of the mount of olives. A great place for dinner too, very nice waiters, delicious food, menu with a good variety of food, not cheap but not too expensive either. Overall really nice hotel. Would highly recommend it, will definitely stay there next time when we are in jerusalem and hope that hotel's administration fix the few flaws so it will be perfect.
