value stay”
Had a lovely time here, very quiet away from the main road and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The owners were very kind and cooked a good breakfast, however as it's off season now and I was the only guest I felt pressured by the host to buy my meals from them and in that regard it felt a bit less like a homestay and more like a hotel

Nice”
Nice host, but tries to sell all kind of activities to you while small talking. Had a room on my own, clean, cold shower - what I don't mind, but no WiFi, what is a real deficit in my opinion.

Friendly, quiet, natural, functional, simple”
This place is so nice, it makes me want to go back to Mirissa just to stay there again. I stayed in the Villa, which is spaceous for a single traveller. The bathroom has all it needs, the floor looks normal grey when it is dry, but gets mesmerizing colours when it gets wet, which it does frequently of course! The villa has a nice porch towards the open garden. During my one week stay, I saw two types of monkeys, a peacock, a one meter long lizard, a few squirrels and the house cats walking about the place as if it's the most natrual thing in the world. Well, it probably is. Also the whole crowd of neighbourhood dogs came roaming through once, but they didn't do anything, just got in one side and out on the other. Pradeep is an excellent host, always friendly and there to help. The same applies to his wife who is also a good cook. I recommend to try the meals they offer, you can get very good Sri Lankan food there. Also Pradeep has a tuktuk and charges fair prices for his services. A trustworthy host, I would book all tours through him. Location of the place is good, as it is away from the street. No traffic noise, or babbling passer-byers will keep you up at night. Of course that also means you need to walk a few minutes to get to the beach, depending on walking speed you can be there in less than 10 minutes. There is enough light to find your way at night, and contrary to previous posts, I didn't find the dogs in the streets unfriendly. They are quite chilled and passive. Being a natural place, ants and mosquitoes are not far of course. But the house is properly built so if you don't leave food open, you should not have trouble, and the beds have mosquito nets, so nothing prevents a good night's sleep. You should not go there for the WiFi. It's definitely not WiFi Inn. In the villa, I didn't get any signal and as Pradeep said, it was month end and the daytime gigabytes may have been used up anyways (sri lankan volume limits on internet connections...) However

good room and nice people”
I only stayed here one night, but the people were really nice and the room was good. A little dark and the bathroom door wouldn't close, but since you're the only one in the room anyway that's not really a problem. (I had the single room) The room was clean and the location is good, so especially for the price it is a good room. Would go here again.

Infested with bed bugs”
The only good thing about this place is the show the monkeys perform everyday in the mango tree on the backyard. Outside table is the only fresh place around. My mattress was so full of bed bugs I couldn`t sleep, and I was scratching mi skin for 4 days after. No toilet paper, no towel, not even a rubish bin provided, and room very hot. Water pressure very low, shower take ages. To get to the beach you have to walk beside a putrid river for 10 minutes, and on the way back is completely dark, so a torch is needed. I trusted the owner and bought the whale watching ticket from him, and after I discovered in the boat that most people paid 2000 rupies and I paid 2500. Wifi is a joke, not working 90% of the time. Place is cheap but I got same price including breakfast nearby, so skip this place and make some research.

Great Value, Friendly Host”
We only stayed at Nature Inn for one night, but we enjoyed our stay very much! Pradeep and his family were so friendly and helpful, and even provided us with a free New Year's Day breakfast. The room was clean and not too small. The bathroom was separate from the room, though, but this did not bother us. Pradeep drove us to Matara on the day we left, so Nature Inn is recommended on his kindness alone. The location is a little off the main streets, though, and some tuktuk drivers might have trouble finding it. Nevertheless, it only takes about 10 minutes or less to walk to Mirissa beach. Overall, Nature Inn is an excellent value and a great place to meet a wonderful family.

The location is close to Mirissa Beach and close to shops.
The room I had was separate from the main house. Monkeys visited regularly outside my door. The owner's wife made a delicious breakfast for 350 rupees which included fried egg, toasted French bread (real big slices) and hot tea. The bedroom was clean and serviceable. There was a sitting area just outside which was convenient. The wifi unfortunately was not entirely dependable, as it would come and go and was not available in the evening. That said, I enjoyed my stay.

The Best!”
The food, the location and the clean comfortable room.
My stay at Nature has been wonderful. After almost three years wandering around India and Nepal, this little place, nature Inn, has been a highlight all by itself. Set in a garden, a spacious, clean room with a very comfortable bed, with a large, clean bathroom. Great food and massive servings, lovely, helpful people and a quiet location a bout 200 metres from the beach, it provides a quiet, restful place to relax in after a day at the beach or sight-seeing. I'm delighted with my choice of accommodation in Sri Lanka, and I would recommend it to looking for first-class accommodation at economy rates. It's very pleasant to watch the squirrels as I enjoy my breakfast each morning, sometimes cheeky monkeys on the rooves and in the trees, and also the occasional Pea-cock. I'm loving it here at Nature Inn.

Perfect for budget travellers”
Lots of wildlife, nice shortcut to the beach, friendly owner, homecooked food
Pradeep and his wife were very welcoming. The room was spotless when we arrived. The curry his wife makes is delicious and very cheap too. Nature inn is situated around 10-15 minute walk from the beach where monkeys play in the trees, lots of pretty birds, fresh water turtles and monitor lizards can be seen along the path. Our only quip was the mosquitos but they are everywhere so cannot be stopped really.

stay in mirissa”
location, seating outside, privacy
I felt the owner tried to push his business too much and hassled me a bit. I loved mirissa as a place and paid £2.50 for the use of a hotel pool for a day - highly recommend for solo travellers that are worried about leaving baggage on beach. The turtle conservation and tea tour are worth doing with pradeep - although tea is very expensive so I didn't buy any. I did the whale watching with raja and the whales - more expensive than others but worth it - well looked after and will refund half the payment if no whales seen - they recommend booking early and will need sick sickness tablets - saw dolphins near boat and whale with baby about 5 good sitings. I thought the nature inn had a bit too much nature, bugs etc for me but is value for money and better if you have a fellow traveller - stayed in better places but ok to lay down head at night

Personal approach in a quiet setting”
Small and cosy, friendly owner
We liked the personal approach and the fact it is a small hotel, away from the large resorts. Things to improve: airco, hot shower, WIFI access. But we liked our stay and wish family all the best in the future!
