Hotellet lå sentralt til og vi likte oss godt pga av dette. Litt problem at det var ganske mye støy fra gata. God frokost til å være et hotell i Storbrittannia.
Perfekt for oss som bruker Central Station for videre reiser”
Skulle ønske bygningen vis a vis blir pusset opp. Den har vært slik i minst 10 år
Greit hotell ved hovedbane stasjonen”
Store rom med gode senger. Noe slitt. Badet kunne trengt renovering, i det minste rent dusjforheng. En del støy. Frokosten var ok.
Fantastic stay great value excellent location”
Stayed here as needed somewhere to sleep for a work night event. Great location in the city centre close to central station. Tesco express and coop nearby. Near taxi ranks and takeaway shops. Excellent value for money paid £30 a night for a triple/twin room. Check in was easy stayed on the 4th floor. Lifts available. Room was spacious and clean. Free bottles of water, plenty of towel, tea and coffe with little shortbread biscuits. Large TV, telephone and good lighting. Bathroom was very clean with shower and bath tub. I was very pleased with the hotel as heard mixed reviews and was a bit apprehensive. Good in room facilities with hair dryer, iron, and kettle. Lots of drawers and wardrobe for clothes. Shower worked fine, TV wouldn't switch on but reception got someone to come fix it quickly. Think just needed new battery for the remote control. Slept really well was comfy good room temperature wasn't too hot or cold. Was worried noise outside from building work across the road would wake me up but it didn't slept well. Reception kindly did a wake up call for me the next day. Breakfast was pleasant. A good variety of cooked food, sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans mushroom. Toasts parties muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, continental meat and cheese. Coffee machine and juice machine to help yourself to all buffet self service. Great tasting coffee and orange juice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended place great value in an excellent location.
Excellent short break 3nt July" 19”
myself and my husband had a excellent short break at this hotel. breakfast was fantastic; cereals, fruit and full scottish. Hotel was very clean and well run. Our room was on the 1st floor - which is where the breakfast is served. Also the bar is on this floor as well - which is very relaxing and quiet during the day - good place to relax if you are early , and waiting on your room check in. Our room was bright and airy. Massive tv, hairdryer, comfortable beds and very spacious. Bathroom with bath and overhead shower, and plenty of hot water. Everything worked - no issues. Housekeeping came in each day, made beds, replaced towels and complimentary water and tea and coffee etc .Hotel is in convenient location near central station and shops on Argyll st . The price we paid through Agoda was amazing. I would definately use this hotel again . Staff were very pleasant and helpful too.
Where else would you want to be!!!”
Location is brilliant if you want to be close to...... Glasgow Central Station, Underground station, the entre of Glasgow, oldest gay bar, M and S, Primark, TKmax, Princes Centre. Many, many bars and food places from expensive to really, really not expensive. Theatres, bus stops, taxi ranks... the list can go on and on. Great staff. Have been there on many occasions. Staff, cleanliness, rooms and breakfast have all been very good. If you do want a lie in on the day that you leave, you can always check out at 10.30, leave your luggage in their store room and go somewhere else for your breakfast. Weatherspoons 1 and a half minute away. Radison Blu 1 and a half minute away. My friend and I are not gay but we LOVE the Wellington Gay Bar next door. From this hotel you can always just walk around the block and experience the Magic of Glasgow. Enjoy!!!
Had everything I needed & a fantastic deal”
Loved the feel of old grandeur -well worn like myself but not shabby. Enormous sweeping curtains, patterned wallpaper and huge chandeliers in bar lounge ares. Room was clean more than enough space -double bed, sheets were pristine, double height ceiling but warm, big flat screen tv on wall, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar etc, bottled water. Iron & full ironing board & Slept well. Bathroom also had plenty of space. Very clean. Pristine towels/floormat with spare in cupboard? Loads of lovely hot water for bath or mixer shower. Extra toilet paper & little shampoo bottles, soap. No dodgy lamps, switches or remote. Great buffet breakfast full cooked, continental, jams & spreads, cereals, yogurts, fruits, fresh juices. Staff quick & attentive.
Excellent value and position ”
Just a short walk from Glasgow Central, this hotel is ideally located. Argyle Street is one of Glasgow's main shopping areas, all just the other side of the station. The hotel has many original art deco and macintosh features, especially in the dining room and lounge bar area. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with nice extra touches of bottled water and biscuits on the tea tray. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, always with a smile. If you left the dining room hungry then it was your own fault. There was, if anything, too much choice at breakfast. We will look to use this hotel again when in the area.
good stay. we go to this hotel quite a lot when in Glasgow to see shows whether sec or kings theatre or Pavilion as we don't mind walking from Buchanan bus station to hotel or from hotel to venues apart from sec which we get the train from central station which is not far. but for people that aren't able to walk far the buses are frequent and cheap or there's always plenty off taxes. rooms are clean & staff are efficient & pleasant. the buffet breakfast is lovely. should have said takes us about 20 mins walk from bus station. to hotel which doesn't seem far as plenty shops bars & cafe's & restaurants on way
Very good budget hotel in excellent location.”
I stayed for one night as a solo traveller. The hotel is located very close to Glasgow Central station. It is a budget hotel and the buffet style breakfast was included in the price. There was enough choice for me as a vegan to have a substantial meal. I took my own soya milk, so didn't ask if there was any available from the kitchen. A lovely touch (and very much appreciated) was the complimentary bottled water in my room, as well as biscuits with the hospitality tray, and toiletries in the bathroom.
Budget single at a reduced price brings preconceived expectations, this room far surpassed them ”
Attic room (601) on the top floor, lift to 5th and a spiral staircase. Great room, far from a single and far from budget. Comfy double bed, ensuite, TV, kettle & tea/ coffee, even 2 bottles of water. Window opens onto Argyle St but was left open all night with no discernible noise disturbing me, good night's sleep. Buffet breakfast was included taken in a functional but nice dining room. All tastes appeared to be catered for, not quite full Scottish breakfast but everything you'd expect and more. Nicely situated in city centre minutes from Central Station and a pleasant walk along the riverfront from the SECC concert venues about 20 minutes away. Shops, eateries, bars restaurants all on the doorstep and only a few minutes walk from George Square and central Glasgow. Nice hotel, nice staff, nice food. Don't let the location or exterior put you off this is worth staying in, I'd certainly recommend it and use it again.
Great little gem”
We only stayed here one night. We got a good rate on Agoda and thought let’s try it. The hotel is a charming heritage hotel with all the quirky bits that come with that. Small elevators, high ceilings, charming atmosphere. The rooms are fine for size. Not too small. The bathroom was updated and large with a big tub. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was included and quite delicious. You had lots of choice. I liked it here and would stay again. The staff were very friendly.
Stay here at this time every year.”
I stay here every year at this time with my cousin. The hotel is very comfortable, breakfast is first class and very friendly staff. It is very convenient for shopping. The only downsides were on our first night the fire alarm woke us up at 11.10 and we were allowed back in at about 11.30 but we were never given any explanation as to what the cause was, and the room above room 221 has squeaky floorboards and the resident/s seemed to wander about the room all night. We still hope to return again next year.
Solo one night”
I stayed here one night as I had a meal in Glasgow evening and then had to catch a train early in morning. Location to train station was only aa 10 minute walk as I had to get to Queen Street Station, but Central Station is only a two minute walk. The room was small but comfortable. The only problem I had was the room was next to the lift, but as it was a Monday night it was not to bad I did hear it ping but it didn’t disturb me but I was only there for one. The breakfast was very good lots to choose from had no issues with breakfast. I would stay here again the next time I passing through Glasgow
I don't understand why the reviews of this plase where bad. The room was great, very big, bright and also very clean. There were Tv, iron, tea , coffee and bottles of water for free. The toilet was very big, I even had a bath in my room! The staff is very nice and helpfull and breakfast is very nice too (coffee, tea, juice, cereals, toasts, croissants, muffins, fruit, yogurt and full Scottish breakfast). I would totally recommend this hotel and the location is great.
Nice hotel just in the city centre”
A nice hotel in the city centre, just 5 minutes ir less from Central Station. It is easy to go around the city centre, you're only 10 minutes away from main streets in the city. Cosy place, the rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed as well. Staff are friendly people. The Scottish breakfast is ok and you have plenty to serve yourself. In the rooms there were always bottles of water and a pair of cookies every day. Overall a great experience.
Date night ”
We booked this last minute and were not expecting much because it was the cheapest hotel we could find but we were completely blown away. Lovely staff, the inside is like an art gallery and our room was absolutely huge. So so many benefits for a date night. There was a couch and arm chair and the room still wasn't crowded. It was great for going out in town as it was right next to the station so also didn't need to rush about to get home. Breakfast included was also with hot food which was a bonus when you compare to premier inn where they charge extra for a hot breakfast. We only came from Paisley for a wee change of scenery and tbh we'll be goimg back for sure. Would pick over a franchise place any day.
Excellent value hotel in central Glasgow”
I was hugely impressed with my first experience staying at the hotel. When I arrived I was given an upgrade to a stunning suite - huge king-sized, 2 leather sofas, immaculate bathroom with huge walk-in shower. It was on the 3rd floor and had 2 massive windows (1 looking along Argyle Street, the other looking south). Lovely starched linen sheets, pristine bath/hand towels, toiletries and tea making facilities. Breakfast was included and I was expecting cornflakes, tea/coffee and toast. In a lovely dining room there was a delicious offering of full-Scottish - bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash browns and tattie scone. Large selection of cereals, toast, fruit, tea/coffee and a selection of juices.
A gem in the city”
Lovely hotel situated perfectly in the heart of the city. My room was clean, spacious and had all the facilities needed for my stay. Toiletries provided as well as tea/ coffee, hairdryer and even an iron and ironing board!! The breakfast in the morning was delicious, so many choices and all fresh, friendly staff in friendly surroundings. I will definitely return.
