Nice place to stay ”
I have stayed many times aver the years and it’s always been good
Good Budget Accomodation”
I wanted somewhere to stay that was a not too hard a walk to town, that had a pool, and was good value for money. I was happy with Queen's Court. My 10 Yr Old and I easily walked to the Reef Fleet Terminal on day one. The continental style breakfast helped us start the day well. The facilities were quite ok, even though we were in the budget room. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
Over the years, stayed at 5 different properties, this by far the BEST!”
Exceptionally friendly reception, cleaning and kitchen staff. They made me feel very welcome. Room, premises and pool spotless and inviting. Breakfast area fantastic for meeting other travellers. Location only a few minutes from the esplanade and a short walk to the city and Cairns Central Shopping. Pictures on website is exactly how the place is. I just want to point out some of the negative comments people have left regarding sharing a bathroom. Every website I have been on selling accommodation for this property, if you actually go into room detail or what is included, you'll find it actually tells you if your room has its own bathroom, or if its a shared bathroom. So before giving this place negative ratings with comments about sharing a bathroom, you should have gone back into the website you booked this accommodation and looked to find what YOU actually booked before making negative comments.
Very average definitely NOT a resort”
When I booked this room I was not aware that it did not have its own shower and toilet, thats probably my mistake, I could have upgraded but I felt I had already paid enough. For a person in there 60's you need your own toilet for during the night, I did not like disturbing my neighbours getting up several times in the night. The room was very small overlooking the Street so quite noisy. Breakfast was toast, cornflakes etc pretty basic. The room was clean and bed ok. I could walk into town from there. I would not stay in this type of room again.
no lift had 2 flights of stairs to get to room, did not realize it was share bathroom. arrived at 5am no code to get key. the lovely night manager came to my rescue. Left at 8.30am so can not really give a full review - the bed was comfortable
ok for a budget hotel”
The receptionists were friendly and helpful, a flickering lightbulb was exchanged immediately. The room is small but ok, the shared bathrooms are basic but clean. Since the air conditioning can either be turned on or off, but cannot be adapted to your own preference, we found it was too hot in the room even with the air con on. Without a car, the hotel is a bit far from the town center. The breakfast included in the room rate is basic, for eggs and ham you have to pay extra.
outskirt of the city”
great room, clean and nice air-conditioned. Good privacy you can enjoy in the room. Do note that the toilets are ensuite. It is located at the outskirt of the city, if you wish to go to the busier streets, be prepared to walk around 1km.
Reasonable in this price”
We didn't know it is shared bathroom until we check in the room. So we have learnt to be more careful next time. The room is fairly small. Tidy but not really clean. Two cockroaches found in the corridor. Bed bugs biting us whole night. The air-con is working but it did not do its job at all. We turned it on before we left and after few hours when we were back still nothing changed. The location is far from main tourism area. Takes around 25 minutes walk / AUD $6 public transport / AUD$10+ Taxi. The staff are nice but not really helpful. One of them organized a taxi for us in the morning as their airport transit start at 10am. But it turned out no taxi came and the staff seemed to be like doesn't care at all. Finally we waited for so long and got a taxi on roadside. 7 more minutes we would missed our flight. Overall we were disappointed as we did not had a good sleep but the price is attractive. It is a better stay than backpacker.
A great place to stay for budget backpackers ”
I booked a budget room with shared bathroom for 2 nights but when I arrived, the aircondistioner didn't work, then the staff quickly came to check and finally upgraded my room to the one with my own bathroom. I didn't expect any better change. During my stay, I'm happy with the hotel surrounding, it's very quiet!
Good rooms & best price, TV channels restricted.”
I've enjoyed it, i have infact telling my friends about the Queens Court accomodation, location, accessibility to public transport and most of all the current rate; Queens Court should be the first choice.
Very nice hotel, great service, convenient locatio”
Bathroom a bit on the small size, felt a little cramped. Wardrobe hanging space npt quite adequete & needs space to hang longer items of clothing. C Block, doors are hard to pull shut when you leave your room,so as guests' leave their rooms from early hours of the morning, a lot of banging noises are heard. Bad luck if you are trying to sleep in, a little. Washing clothes line is badly situated, right under dripping air conditioners' & in shade of building. Lots of stairs to our room, my husband had a sprained ankle, so stairs were a challenge, but managed. No lifts & we could not get a room change to lower level, as, fully booked.
Good value for money”
Only stayed one night but was ideal for what we needed. Reception staff were helpful, rooms were basic but clean and a 10minute walk to the centre of town. They are very strict about check in and check out times...
Nice hotel and friendly service”
verry friendly and helpful staff. rooms are small but fine for a few nights. everything clean and well maintained. excellent breakfast choices including vietnames style soup as well as all the usual cereal, toast fruit and juices. good beds and linen. walking distance to food outlets nd a healthy walk to the town centre.
Very friendly hotel, good sized rooms.”
found that the shared bathroom was not to my liking and went to reception to be upgraded; very accommodating and were able to relocate me that day for a small upgrade fee. new room was great; airy and very clean facilities; flat screen tv (wonderful) and excellent air conditioner. breakfasts very good and included in the price! access to rooms stairs (easy even for my old bones!) and walls thick enough in the room to not be bothered by people coming and going at all hours. overall i would thoroughly recommend queens court to anyone wanting good service and value for money.
Don’t get the rooms at front of hotel ,, they are noisy , lots of doors slamming , no room cleaning or turndown ,
nice to stay in Queens Court”
clean room without a washroom”
For the money I paid I got a nice clean room without a washroom. I did not expect that, but this was not my first experience. I did not enjoy the breakfast at all because there was instant coffee and juices that were not freshly squezzed, and no pastry like croissant. No omelette or friend eggs, no fresh vegetables and fruits.
Good budget overnight stay”
Very cheap budget motel. Stayed in budget room with shower and toilet down the hall. Although basic, was very clean and friendly. Would be happy to stay agin overnight for clean bed and shower with basic breakfast included
basic, basic, basic ”
rooms are tiny, it's not a hotel - it's a motel - set up is incredibly basic, minimal and clinical. you get for what you pay for! we (early thirties couple) have stayed in worse but my parents (in their 60's) were slightly un-nerved. but the staff are amazing - lovely, friendly, customer service orientated team...
