2 Night Stay”
Had the room with a view and it was great to wake up to views of the river and range. The room was clean, bed comfortable and the shower hot - quite satisfactory! The free tea and coffee in the lodge was much appreciated. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Cosy room in a beautiful location”
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and warm when we got there and had such a cosy, welcoming feeling. There wasn't in room tea coffee facilities but there was free tea and coffee in the eating area. There was a small fridge in the room however. The meals were large and very tasty, and the smorgasbord breakfast was excellent. We were full all day from it. Don't be put off by the basic outside appearance of the resort, the rooms and atmosphere are what's important and this place has plenty of both.
Dirty and smelly and over priced. The breakfast was good tho
The only choice, other than not going this direction”
If I had it to do again, I would skip the expense of the 4WD and hotels along this route and just drive the sealed route straight to Uluru from Alice Springs (and you’ll need the money there, too!).
Stunning scenery, comfortable lodgings and great food. ”
The managers were fantastic. Quick check in,great sense of humour and I would drive all the way back there for the lamb chops.
Air conditioning was barely functional and so noisy it couldn't be used at night. Over half of the washing machines were out of order. Communal kitchen facility was dirty and had no equipment. It looked like the place really needed some TLC.
A comfortable stay”
Great staff and not so great facilities. Good enough for overnight stay. p.s., I don’t quite get the Australian definition of a “resort”. This place is more like a motel in my opinion.
We had dinner in the restaurant and it was absolutely beautiful, it was the best kangaroo I have ever had, so my congrats to the chef. We would definitely stay there again should we ever pass through Glen Helen again.
Glen Helen homestead lodge”
The signage to d property needs to be more prominent n bigger
Great place to rest ”
Can't get more Aussie than this. It maybe only a two star, so don't expect too much, but it has everything you need for a short stay or stop over. Good food, great atmosphere ans the location is great.
Staff charged me $5 for two slices of toast!! Ridiculous!!!
Great Location for an overnight stay at Glen Helen”
We were allocated a room overlooking the river which was very nice. Small rooms but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The temperatures meant the fridge was struggling. Pleased to say saw no snakes!
Nice place, also for families”
for those who want to travel to uluru (ayer's rock), the unsealed 4wd road via kings canyon is the best way to go. road is in reasonable condition most of the time and gets you through areas with wild horses, camels, kangaroos and very nice views of gorges and bush fields. family room holds the advantage of a private yet basic shower.
Basic comfort but great place to stay”

Mostly good Rooms needs a lot of little thing fixed eg moving taps, loose door locks Otherwise good place to stay Restraunt food good but a little expensive
Amazing location with friendly staff”
We loved our stay at the Glen Helen Resort although the rooms are below standard. Staff all very helpful and friendly, and restaurant meals were of a very good quality. There was musical entertainment to be enjoyed by all. The location is the draw card for this resort as the scenery is absolutely amazing.
Basic rooms in a lovely location”
Only hotel in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Friendly staff, good restaurant, free live music during our stay
Great location and service with a smil”
the resort is just in front of the gelen helen gauge, 10 minutes return walking. the staff are very nice. several choice for meals. however, the outdoor kitchen is a little bit simple with little kits. too many flies and moths when cooking in the evening.
We stayed at Glen Helen resort on 10th March en route to Uluru from Alice Springs. It is very remote and unless you wish to walk or take part in sporty activities you are limited to what you can do. The evening meal was good but relatively expensive with no alternatives. Breakfast not taken appeared expensive and limited. Beer was OK nice & cold. Suffered from pesky flies all around the outback, however they did not appear to invade the rooms or the restaurant.
